Your video helped me diagnose and fix a free Denon DCD-660! In this case I removed the cover (just five screws) and performed a simple gentle cleaning of the lens surface with a soft swab dipped in 90 percent isopropanol. That simple procedure restored the read function of the laser. The player now works as new and it sounds amazing! Thank you so much for your expertise and willingness to share it! Cheers!

    Hi really excellent video!!!
I have a denon dcd 625ll and it stopped working because of the damage of CD driver's ring ....
I gave it to someone to fix it but he brought it back the driver to me in some pieces ...My question is if it possible to fix it with the help of a brochure or video. If someone has any information leave a comment below.

Awesome video, thx! Question my DCD-695 (same drive) skips (jumps) during playback but only at the very beginning of a CD. What would you do there, what is the reason for it?

      Hi, thanks.
I would check the self-calibration fugures, if they are within specs.
Pickup defects aside, it may also be the dirty or badly oiled screw rod, that does not allow the pickup head to move to the terminal position.
      Hard to tell without seeing.

@@sirrosh69Imagine, Just cleaning the lens with a cotton swap with a tiny bit of isopropanol + some maintenance of all sliding surfaces fixed the problem! It now plays right from 00:01 without interruption 🙂

Hi, no Sund? Check the outputs direct on the DAC with your oscilloscope. You know, no signal on it, DAC chip overheats? Change the chip. You already verified voltages. If so, track the signal to the opamp and the coupling capacitors. Good luck!! Tschüs!!
