*I never will understand why these homes are not saved and re-invented as community buildings, condos, or private office spaces within the new development.* Insane and obscene to destroy such a masterpiece. For those who love houses and architecture, it is heartbreaking and sickening to the core. It would take an extraordinary amount of money to reproduce that level of craftsmanship today --if even possible. I have lived in some places where the estate farmland was sold to a developer but the community rallied around preservation and demanded that the historic home be saved and remodeled and reused as apartments or lawyers suites , etc. rather than ripping them down. Beautiful video.

How sad for Edwin and his wife, and to have this beautiful home torn down by developers makes me sick. You would think since this home is relatively "new" they could incorporate it in their plans as a community center or office space, ie Drs, etc. Thanks Jeremy for the tour.

I share your feelings - it's a tough situation for Edwin and his wife, and seeing any beautiful home, especially a newer one, get torn down is disheartening. The idea of repurposing it into a community center or office space is a thoughtful alternative; it's a shame when such potential is overlooked. Thanks for expressing your thoughts and for appreciating the tour. It’s important to share and document these stories, even if the endings aren’t what we hope for. Thank you for being part of the journey.

It would enhance their "new" community by making it a community gathering place, small park picnic area, children's playground, basketball/tennis courts, so many ideas for it, politics will win out. So sad.

You are a phenomenal story teller! Thank you! There’s something so sad of this society that favors destruction of something so beautiful only to build hideously unappealing subdivisions that will resemble blight in a few short years. This house so stunningly designed and built and so well maintained should be allowed to live at least 100 yrs and more and with many trees planted to blot out the ugly subdivision. Too many beautiful features to mention but one of my favorites the timeless dining room wallpaper. I just wish people would “get it” before so much beauty is gone forever. Really enjoyed this video!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your perspective! I completely understand your sentiments about the loss of beautiful architecture to make way for new developments that might not carry the same charm or character. It's a real challenge our society faces, balancing growth with preservation. Highlighting the beauty and history of places like these is one way to help people appreciate and maybe think twice about what we're leaving behind. I'm glad the dining room wallpaper and other features spoke to you. It's voices like yours that help raise awareness and appreciation for the beauty around us. Thanks again for your support and for enjoying the video! Let's keep hoping and working for a world that values its history and beauty.

I read that to do list. I think Kathy wrote it. Looks like she was fixing up the place to sell to the new landlord and moved into an apartment. I always love your videos. Its like a guided meditation and better than any ASMR video. Plus you are preserving things that will soon be gone to satisfy the ravenous hunger of plywood box sprawl developers. I know I want to build my own house and I really want to detail it instead of making it another giant painted plywood box. Even our skyscrapers are nothing more than glass, steel, and concrete boxes. I always wanted to build a futuristic home with organic shapes and seeing all the different places you have been to gave me all kinds of ideas to create. Hopefully your videos inspire other people like it does me and so these places will live on in new places that will be built for those that dare to dream and take action on those dreams.

You put a lot of love and hard work into this video, Jeremy. It's interesting to see how Edwin's family lived, before Alzheimer's robbed him of his memories. What a cruel fate! So sad this house will be demolished for a subdivision, for it was the soul of the community. It should've been preserved. 😢

@jeremyxplores - thankyou SO MUCH for such an amazing explore!!! We are first time watchers and new subscribers from South Australia!! What a travesty this place is being destroyed - such a gorgeous mansion and property!!🥺😭🥺 And quickly - from two lifetime horse riders with 37 horses here at home - that stable/barn has been stripped - each stable would have had individual walls and doors. The 'harnesses for their snout lol!!' - are called horse halters to go on their head to lead them about - and the fenced in area is called an arena or menage - they are usually 20x40m, or 20x60m!! Any horse owner or lover would have adored this property and house, and it is a crying shame to see it is destined for demolishment!!!!💔😭💔
