Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
    0:00 - Introduction
    1. 0:13 I'm a follower of Christ, and I have several major illnesses which makes me uninsurable, and I can’t afford a funeral plan. My family will likely cremate me, but I’m REALLY troubled about this. Can only buried bodies be resurrected? Will I miss out on eternal life and go to Hell if my body is cremated? When I asked a pastor nearby, he said cremation is Pagan and only burial is biblical. Is this true?
    2. 8:10 How do you see God when you pray? My mind wants to envision a person.
    3. 10:29 Is there a possibility that “Lady Wisdom” in Proverbs 8 is actually the Holy Spirit? Is there ever any definitively male or female pronouns used in the Hebrew or Greek to know?
    4. 13:26 Romans 11: 25-32 seems to say that the Jewish people will turn back to Christ. Do you have any thoughts on that or see a connection between that and the rising number of Messianic Jews is Israel?
    5. 18:59 I am a new Christian, formally LDS. Many LDS folk have been very active at challenging my new beliefs (the Trinity, etc.) I want to share the Gospel with them, but I recognize I'm still learning. Do new Christians have an obligation to defend our beliefs and evangelize, or is it o.k. to ask these challengers to give me space?
    6. 22:02 If God is timeless, how could He have sequential thoughts, especially before time was created (e.g., His decision to make time and creation)?
    7. 25:36 What are our "non-negotiables" as Christians? What doctrines do we unapologetically plant our flags on and refuse to back down from?
    8. 32:33 To what extent do we expose works of darkness? (Ephesians 5:8-14) A family member who claims to be a Christian is openly selling food w vulgar text & images and I found out she’s supplying alcohol to minors as well, through her business. The 1st part was bad enough, but I can’t stay silent anymore. She is already unhappy with me and another family member calling her out on behavior that endangered her child & our family, but admitted at the time that she “should be a better Christian.” How do we handle this?
    9. 34:12 Is the Paradise mentioned by Paul in his vision of being taken to the third Heaven, Jesus to the thief on the cross, and in the account of Lazarus the same place?
    10. 37:11 How can God love the whole world while hating sinners like in Psalm 5:5?
    11. 41:23 Any advice for a wife whose husband has admitted he is not as spiritually mature as the wife? She doesn’t want to lead *him,* but is more spiritually mature.
    12. 44:07 If a born-again Christian dies suddenly with an unconfessed sin (not a lifestyle) like momentary lust or deceit, will this lead to Hell? Or does Christ's sacrifice cover all sins (past & future)?
    13. 49:05 Where are we when we are judged? On Earth, in Heaven, or somewhere in between?
    14. 50:51 In Matthew 27, who are the people coming out of the tombs when Jesus rises? Did they continue earthly life and die again, or ascend too?
    15. 54:22 How can I get close to God and overcome demons I have and oppression?
    16. 57:31 My wife and I think we are called to move to Alaska for missions (to Remote Alaska). How can I know God is guiding us there?
    17. 1:01:47 Would you please explain Matthew 10: 23? What is meant by “before the Son of Man comes”? Mark does NOT state this in his rendition of “Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles” (Mark 6:7-13).
    18. 1:05:04 Have you ever read anything on the Eastern Orthodox view of the Holy Trinity called the Monarchy of the Father? If you have, do you have any thoughts?
    19. 1:06:22 I think I'm getting diagnosed with Covert Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Proverbs 16:5 scares me. Am I unsavable? I want to be saved and truly converted, but fear is my motive.
    20. 1:13:22 My heart has become hard due to continued rebellion which led to a problem trusting Christ and resting in Him. How do I know if I’m repentant when I’m not “sorry” anymore? I miss living near to Christ.

@Mike Winger. Pastor Mike, thank you for taking my question (question 17 in the video). I think the character cap limited me from being able to ask the full question in clarity. Luke 9:1-6, Mark 6:7-13, and Matthew 10:5-15 are all parallel passages to each other. However, Matthew then adds Matthew 10:16-24. This passage is almost word for word what Mark says in his Olivet Discourse (Mark 13:9-13). Why is Matthew adding this passage from the Olivet Discourse concerning the “Signs of the End of the Age” to the passage concerning the sending of the 12. I think it’s clear Matthew is taking Mark’s passage from his Olivet Discourse and applying to his sending of the 12, but why? Thank you.

About question 3, I think their point was to try and make the Holy Spirit a female. As in the mother Type of figure. The father. Holy Spirit being the mother. And Jesus being the son.

Could you do a study on sex outside of marriage? I think it could be of great value given that you look at the Hebrew and Greek words and what they meant given the context used in many instances. This is especially important with the sex outside of marriage topic, given that a negative command that forbids it is never explicitly stated. It is now assumed, for some reason, that sexual immortality and fornication means sex outside of marriage, but that is never stated. Sexual immortality and fornication could have meant prostitution, incest, sodomy, unclean sex during menstrual cycle, orgies, homosexuality, rape, etc. The Hebrew and Greek words for fornication are associated with prostitution in many instances. I believe it is incorrect to tell people that God was speaking about sex outside of marriage when speaking about sexual immorality and fornication. He told us not to kill, He told us not to steal, He told us not to lie, He told us not to bear false witness, He told us to honor our parents, He told us specifically which animals to eat and which not to eat. I believe that with an issue as important as sex that He would have explicitly stated "Do not have sex outside of marriage" if it was a sin in and of itself. Now, I do believe it can be displeasing to God depending on how you go about it, and it can cause one to be unrighteous in many ways, and I'm not promoting being sexually promiscuous. But I've been with my finance for four years. We have a son together. I love her and she loves me. I absolutely do not believe that I am committing a sin every time I have sex with her, or that I was even before we got engaged. And I think that is a dangerous idea to promote.
I'm a new believer in the Word of God. Not a new believer in God, but in the Bible. If I stopped having sex with my finance because I believed that I was committing a sin every time I did it, I imagine our relationship wouldn't make it to the marriage. Good thing I don't think it is a sin for us to make love. Because I don't think God would want me to do something that would break up our family, i.e., suddenly stop having sex with my fiance, or even if she was my girlfriend, because I now believe in the Word of God and I mistakenly trust the misinterpretation of some men. And I believe that is why He never plainly stated that sex outside of marriage is a sin. Because He knew that one day it would actually cause damage if people believed that. But obviously He doesn't promote it and He would encourage us to be married. But that is vastly different than saying it is a sin.

How many bodies over the years are intact? Sailors lost at sea, people burned to death and left in ruins, and so on. I have planned to be an organ donor after death and have no fears that God will reject me because my body is not intact.

In response to the last question. When I decided to give my life to Christ, while repenting of my sins I didn't truly feel bad either. I was very aware that my repentance was not from the bottom of my heart at that moment. Nevertheless, I started sobbing, something spiritual was happening to me. That was in the middle of the night. I was then very sick the next day. From then on I started changing, mentally and physically I did not want to sin anymore. We just have to go through the motions, like Mike said. Do what's right, pray about it, even if initially it feels like you are faking it. I think it is about making a conscious decision.
I know my feelings were numbed initially as a result of my sinful lifestyle and beliefs I chose to adopt. God started pulling the scales of my heart once I decided to surrender.

Reminds me of the story in C.S. Lewis Narnia book "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" where Eustace Scrubb encounters the Lion and tries to shed his dragon skin. At the end, only the lion is able to do it. Such a poweful analogy to the deepness of our sins, and the short coming of our own struggle in ourselves. I belive your experience, patisha1, is one of the things God wants the most from us. Our willingness to confront sin, and let Him change us towards His glory. I am on that road, but self deceit is strong and I struggle with letting Him have it all. Please pray for me if you read this.

I am always blessed when I take time to come and listen to these Q&As. Often I hear answers for myself in the answers to other people's questions, even if mine isn't specifically asked. Mine was asked today, though, and I'm feeling encouraged to keep talking with my Mormon friends who are unhappy that I've left Mormonism. They definitely do the whole "ask a question, get an answer, and then ignore the answer and ask another question" tactic, though, and maybe that's part of why I have been feeling discouraged. Their efforts usually feel much more like an attempt to get me to go back to Mormonism than it does an honest conversation.
There's no way I could go back, though, knowing what I now know about Mormonism, and certainly knowing what I now know about Christ and the truth of His divinity. I praise God daily for bringing me out of the falsehood of the Mormon Church. There's still a LOT to unpack, and God is working with me daily to help sort truth from falsehood. Living in Utah, with all of this all around me, can sometimes just feel overwhelming. But THANK YOU for the encouragement to "answer according to your capacity." There's a lot I don't know the answer to yet, but there's a LOT of truth the Lord has already helped me to see in a few short weeks. He is so gracious and so good.

I really like the dust to dust answer, but would add that our atoms and molecules are continually being replaced, with the bone marrow cells having the longest turn over. After seven to ten years, all the cells of our bodies are completely replaced, so yo don't even have the same matter you did ten years ago. What is the same is the pattern or information contained in your DNA. That's what makes you physically unique and who you are. Your DNA pattern exists in the mind of God and God can take the necessary raw ingredients, which he made in the first place, and reassemble them in the pattern of your body whenever He wants.

I voluntarily plan to be cremated, I just want to be as little of a burden as possible on my family. I don't believe our physical body has anything to do with our salvation. I don't want to sound insensitive or anything, but I never visit my grandparents graves. Not only do I not live by them, but I do not believe that they are even there to "listen" to me, I wouldn't try to communicate with them, and I believe I will see them again and have no need to visit their burial sites. We had great memorial services, we praised God for their lives then moved on, I still miss them deeply but have no connection to their bodies. And our daughter was cremated and I have no concern for her salvation, I know we will see her again.

@about 16.56 he is talking about Jewish people getting saved. he mentions the fact that once they get saved, they are more Jewish. I am a Jewish believer and I appreciate this comment so much. My mind was so blown my first Passover after my salvation recognizing that it all came to Christ, and at that point I wasn't even going to Sunday morning church. Good job, you got it

That shouldn’t even matter. There is “neither Jew nor Greek” in Christ.

    • @krislevi776
      @krislevi776 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@johnernest1207 @John Ernest that's right, there is no difference between yJew nor greek. We are all equal under christ. We are all worthless sinners with no chance of salvation and NOTHING good in us and that's why Christ had to die on the cross for us.
But you see, most Jewish people have never heard the gospel because of the Christians. Yes I said because of Christians. Many Protestants follow the Catholic teaching of replacement theology, as a church has replaced israel. You have guys like Martin Luther who literally wrote a book called "On the Jews and Their Lies". The Catholic and most Protestant churches have actually gone out of their way to persecute Jewish people (ever hear of the crusades or the Spanish Inquisition). So the average Jewish person doesn't want to hear about Christ because of how many times people have persecuted them in the name of Christ.
I remember one time as a kid my friend brought me to I think it's called a youth rangers or Christ rangers or royal rangers or something like that meeting. As an elementary school student, they had a man there telling me "you know the Jews killed Christ". (Historically, it wasn't the Hebrews, it was the Romans).
While we are all equal under christ, we have not had equal evangelism under Christ. So as a Jewish Christian, I have been hated by Christians and hated by Jews and that does leave a Jewish person to be left in the state of isolation. We sometimes get treated like we're novel. We don't quiet fit in the normal christian mold. Today is Purim, we celebrated last night by eating sweets and reading esther. Some Christians get offended when I celebrate the Passover.
Yes, Jews and gentiles are all the same under christ. My pastor is actually greek. I love going out to him and telling him how I have to get served first because t's to "the Jew first and then also the Greek."
Here are two things I want you to learn from this.
First, you are called to evangelize Jewish people.Acts 1.8, Luke 24.47, and Romans 1.16 to name a few. When was the last time you were able to present a clear gospel presentation to a Jewish person? Most Jewish people have never actually heard the gospel, they just have heard Christians hating them.we see whenever Paul went into a new city, he first went to the synagogues. Are you following that example of going out looking for Jewish people to believe like the apostle Paul himself did? We need to reach every last soul with the gospel. But they are too many churches who ignored Jewish people. And by the way, we have too many people of winning Muslims nowadays as well. They believe in a complete false religion based off works that's an abomination to god. But are we out there trying to rescue them from hell, or we too afraid to present to them a clear concise logical gospel presentation.
The second thing I want you to realize is that some people have had to pay a price to take the name Christian. There are plenty of Jewish people that once they get converted they have to cut full family ties. Obviously this is not just a uniquely Jewish thing, I have a great friend from Bhutan who had to leave her family because she would not worship her ancestors anymore. She had a fleet of India as a refugee. so when somebody can turn around and say look at the great thing God did in my life, don't just play them down. instead of just yelling what we're all the same, you should praise the Lord that someone else became a Christian.

I’m so happy to find Jewish believers. You are right that Christians have treated Jews so horribly in the past that there is a large barrier Christians have to overcome. I didn’t know this for a long time... I assumed all Christians loved Jews because of what the Bible says. One of my Jewish friends told me her ancestors fled Russia and they wore crosses around their necks so Christians wouldn’t persecute them. Another one of my Jewish friends saw I had a Bible and was worried. Luckily they understand now that those Christians were not following Jesus. Both are open to the Gospel.

There’s no such thing as “replacement theology”, that’s just a strawman invented by dispensationalists. Believing Jews and Gentiles are brothers in Christ. Jews who reject Christ will face the same destiny as all other non-Christians: hell. That’s the plain truth.

      You were a kill joy.
I was so happy for his comment and then I read yours. My heart fell.

Don’t think I ever heard the Pharisee part of that joke but the Sadducee part I’ve heard better; “ The sadducees didn’t believe in the resurrection and that’s why they were sad you see”.
There is also the mosquito bites, the uptights, and the out of sights.
I think my favorite joke I’ve heard from a pastor is the one that I’ve heard as either the Lone Ranger and tanto or Watson and Holmes (I prefer it as the Lone Ranger and tanto), but it goes something like this; “They are camping out and LR says to tanto as they are lying on the ground looking up at the stars ‘do you know what this means?’ And tanto responds with a bunch of different things from astronomy and astrology to the weather and asks ‘what do you think it means’ and LR responds ‘It means someone stole our tent’.

The inerrancy of scripture is the most important hill to die on. Without reliable scripture we know nothing about Jesus, the death & resurrection, creation, we are saved by grace only by Christ alone.....
To say scripture may have some little errors runs counter to the Christians faith and will condemn anyone who doesn't accept it this critical fact because it's the whole manual for the Christian faith.

Thank you.

A friends mother was so scared of burdening her family she donated her body knowing they would bury her when finished with a Christian burial. Your option sounds like a good one. Casket prices are crazy, not that we use them here, we go for coffins. Love this Q&A I know Pastor jokes are not for everyone but I really enjoyed them. But more seriousness, I to had a very dark season in life while in full time ministry living at a Children’s home that I live in such darkness than I Th ought it would never end. My sin took over I was ready to run away and live with a man that got kicked out of the Ministry. I remember cleaning the little boys bathroom looking in the mirror begging God to take this away, but it didn’t end there. I had to physically stop all contact with this man ask for forgiveness but still my heart didn’t change right away. Until one day I heard the radio playing in one of the kids room about a hard heart! At that moment God said this is you! I broke right there in the middle of this empty room at this children’s ministry. And I have ever been the same and never looked back. I’m saying IT IS A CHOICE You have to make and never give up because God has a work in you enough to know you will never turn back. I know I wouldn’t have learned this hard lesson if he just fixed me on the spot of me asking. He had work to do first. Love this Pastor Mike!

I enjoy this channel a lot and Mike Winger really does what he sets out to do - make you think Biblically about things. I love that! I don’t understand the question days, though. I only tried to submit a question once, but I couldn’t even ask my entire question because of the character limit. The entire time people wait for the live feed, people are constantly seeing messages explaining that their questions will not be answered if they are submitted before the live feed. Yet, there is usually a question or two (usually the first one) that is extremely long and detailed. That’s great, but how does that happen with the character limit? Where do those longer questions come from? Just wondering.

    • @sarahfaith316
      @sarahfaith316 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

(Admin) Hi Jamie! Thank you for your note - we're so glad to hear you're enjoying our content! We're so sorry that the Q&A process can be difficult. We are always thinking of ways to streamline our process, but the reality is just that we receive thousands of questions and we are only able to answer about 20 within the allotted time. We recently began to have Q&A sessions every week rather than just once in a while as we were previously doing, to try to help with this. We agree that the 200 character limit adds an extra layer of difficulty, but it is unfortunately outside of our control - TH-cam applies that rule to all live chat comments, even for moderators. The reason there are occasionally questions longer than that limit is if the team member compiling questions for the day chooses to allow a 2-part question to be submitted, and then they combine the two parts before sending the question list to Pastor Mike. In order to be as fair as possible to all, we ask everyone to try to send only one-part questions, but we will occasionally allow a 2-part Q in rare circumstances. I hope this helps! Many blessings.

Who, in Christianity, will fix this? (long, but very relevant & timely post)
    Atheist: there is no God.
    Christian: God created everything.
    Atheist: then who created God?
    Christian: God always was.
    Atheist: the Universe always was.
Christian: No. God created the Universe.
    Atheist: then who created God?
....and 'round and 'round it goes. What would Frank say? He didn't. or did i miss something?
Another Gigantic problem in Christianity to day is:
    1. a Christian writes a book on how Christianity is true.
    2. a Skeptic writes a rebuttal-book.
    3. the Christian does NOT out-argue or disprove the skeptic. They avoid. They stop. Instead---
    4. some NEW apologist will come along, and not disprove this last skeptic, either. He/she will simply write a new book, RE-stating how Christianity is all true, all over again. Some years back, Christians had LEE STROBEL. Then, Robert M. Price writes "the Case AGAINST the case For Christ" -- but--
WHO WILL DISPROVE Price?!? Instead...(drum roll please)...meet J. Warner Wallace (did i get his name right?). Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, he hasn't said squat about Robert M. Price. But here he is, the latest "new apologist" saying how its all true, all over again. . .and the cycle repeats.
Also, WHO WILL WRITE the point-by-point counter-rebuttal to Bertrand Russell's "Why I Am Not a Christian"?!? Avoidance isnt an answer.
There are people far, far more qualified than me, to do this. I have read the entire New Testament, but have NO degree in Theology, History or New Testament Studies. The skeptics still need to be counter-argued, not avoided. In the meantime, more people leave the church. . .its the UNANSWERED QUESTIONS that are the big reason for "deconstruction" and falling away. NOT "the Enneagram", (good gaawwwd!! why is anyone at all WASTING 5 seconds of time on youtube at all, saying anything about this, other than: "it has nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity! TELL them that. Then Move On!) ...Neither does "understanding the Black expereince" (or even the white experience).
    Not Poverty. Not Racism.
Not social justice. These are all new side-distractions. The Church is not your state capitol. Many so-called "issues" today never were the Churches job and still aren't. People want answers. They want to know that their Faith can and will and does stand up to skeptical objections - not to just be told in a new book or youtube video that its all true (again) and ignore the skeptical critiques...i.e...Price, Russell, Sam Harris, Dan Barker. Who will SHOW that they are wrong? Copy/share this post freely. Permission granted.

Mike, The problem with post-tribbers, who must place the Bema Seat of Christ on earth, is that they miss the purpose and significance of the Rapture altogether. I agree we should use our common sense. So here are some common-sense questions:
    1) Is Jesus the only bridegroom who is not entitled to some private time with his bride? Where do post-Tribbers place the seven days Jewish newlyweds had to consummate their marriage? Paul calls this spiritual oneness with Christ a "GREAT MYSTERY." I used to think the Rapture was of the Church, but now I know it is of the BRIDE. Yes, it is still us, but the Church won'tt be fully Christ's until the Rapture (1John 3). We will be celebrating our spiritual honeymoon with Jesus in heaven while the unrepentant world goes to hell -- quite literally. This is Jesus' (and our) long-awaited day. He's coming down to get us b/c He's not going to allow any stinking devil anywhere near his heaven-bound Bride.
    2) When do we get to see and enjoy the mansions Jesus said he was preparing for each one of us in his Father's house? Wasn't He, like any Jewish bridegroom of his day, expressing his pride and joy at the thought of building his bride a home? But according to post-Tribbers, Jesus is putting it off a thousand years, b/c He's too busy setting up his earthly Kingdom to take his Bride to his Father's house. He's going to lift us up in the air only to swing us around back to earth where most of us were beheaded. REALLY?
    3) Finally, when will the Bema Seat of Christ take place? Like any king, Jesus wants to lavish his Bride with jewels and crowns He has stored in heaven, but unfortunately, post-Tribbers want to deprive Him of that joy too. They'd rather endure the judgment of God together with the unrighteous.
Conflating the Rapture and the Second Coming means that Jesus will have to make a U-turn back to earth and put his reign on hold to squeeze in the Bema Seat of Christ, b/c He can't assign us Millennial-reign jobs until our works (not us) have been judged. So I guess God's angels will have to speed things up by handing out reward packages with name tags to all deserving Christians (Calvanists and Preterists will get a matchbox). Then they'll have to go out and gather the elect of God and the Lamb, as per Isaiah 65.
Now II am going to contrast concepts, starting with the difference between a rapture and a gathering (assembling). Raptures are supernatural events where human beings are bodily snatched from the earth UP into heaven for an indefinite period of time. Some examples are Enoch, Elijah, Paul(?), the Church (TBA) and, in case you didn't know, Jesus! While it is true that Jesus ASCENDED to heaven as the Perfect Offering (Firstfruits) UNTO GOD, with regard to death and the grave Jesus was "harpazõed," i.e., He was raptured (Rev. 12:5).
The Rapture of the Church is quite unique in that it includes other things besides being snatched from earth to heaven. Our Rapture will also involve the resurrection of the dead in Christ, the changing of our mortal to immortal bodies if we are alive, and a gathering/assembling of this glorious Bride in the air where our heavenly Bridegroom awaits. We call it the Rapture, but this succession of events is really the UNITING OF CHRIST WITH HIS BRIDE, and it is second only to the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the most awesome event in human history.
This is the note I am leaving To Whom It May Concern:
"In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.” (Gospel of John, The Bible)

Hey Pastor Mike.. I've been hearing a lot about spiritual husband and spiritual wives.. Somehow this concept is connected to "soul ties" could you find time to elaborate on this topic? Thank you.. and btw.. Moses used a manna-fest to guide the isrealites through the dessert.. unfortunately this one was not clear and resulted in them wondering the wilderness for 40yrs. They kept asking themselves "WHAT IS IT?!?!? 😂😂😂lolol (My corny joke for the day 🤷‍♀️)
