@@CH-kk7rw He was a 4 time All-Star, and during those 4 Year's he was the top PG in the League, and top 5 Overall. The Odds a Player even makes the NBA is like 2%, it's an Elite Group. And if you can rise to the top of that Group for 4 consecutive Year's you belong in the Hall.. In my opinion of course.
Stockton Jordan Pippen Rodman Hakeem I'm not only thinking about skill level but also chemistry. I think those guys will work good together. All five really good defenders. No one besides MJ (and maybe Hakeem) absolutely needs the ball to score. Fell free to disagree but respectfully. :)
I grew up watching 90s bball. Until last year, I didn't realize that there was so much tension between those players. Certain rivalries you can't forget but I had no idea
1st Team - John Stockton, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Karl Malone, David Robinson 2nd Team - Gary Payton, Clyde Drexler, Grant Hill, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon 3rd Team - Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, Chris Mullin, Shawn Kemp, Patrick Ewing
@@DLKnightstick1989 It's very close, closer than some people may be aware of. But what Hakeem did in 94 & 95 killed any conversation about him and Robinson. Especially what he did to Robinson and the Spurs. But like i said great list.
@Aaron Daneils Uhh... Well, the video is literally about the best starting five players from the 1990s. So you saying Pippen didn't become an all-star until the 90s is much more irrelevant than Hill playing only five seasons. What Pippen did in the 80s doesn't matter with this list. And Hill playing only 5 seasons in the 90s has to do with longevity and consistency. I thought that was fairly self-explanatory.
And he's referring to the 94' hood ass team in the Goodwill games, he's not talking about the 96' team. The 94' team had Larry Johnson, Derrick Coleman, Shawn Kemp, etc. Shaq loves cocky players like that. Barkley and Malone would wax those guys.
He’s right 100 percent. Look at the rosters. The original dream team had key players past their prime. Magic and Bird were at least 5 years past their primes. The 96 team was just as talented but they were all near their peaks.

Today's NBA compared to the 80's is like a welterweight fighting a heavyweight (the 80's of course). My criteria includes: the era, 3pt% over 3pt attempts, how a player could perform in a balance scoring team like the Spurs, and how a player could perform with less ball dominating (considerations for real pointguards of course). My top 10 (ballers on their prime) all time, not in order: MJ BIrd Magic Olajuwon Jabbar Wilt Duncan Dr.J (NBA/ABA) Shaq Bill Russell
People be tripping about this SF of the 90s with Pippen ......thats Grant Hill .... Yeah he won championships (Jordan) but the better head to head. Player was clealy Grant Hill
Grant Hill had no impact on the game. Grant Hill was a could have been. Unfortunately because of injuries his never reached his full potential except for maybe one season he actually scored over 25ppg.
Explain to me how he impacted the game? Because he is in the HOF? That means nothing, Grant Hill could have been a great all time player. But his career will look very similar to Derrick Rose. Best point guard in the NBA in the early years before his injuries. Atleast Rose won an MVP. Grant Hill didn't even win an MVP.
@Aaron Daneils Michael Jordan retired when Grant Hill was coming into his 2nd or 3rd year. Grant Hill was a good player. Not great. T-mac was one of the most clutch players in the NBA. Where u even around during the 90s era? Why does an mvp matter? Because Grant Hill was never good enough to win one. Even while Jordan was retired.
@Aaron Daneils your argument was that Grant Hill was a legend. You replied to my comment. So what's your argument then. Grant Hill wasn't shit in the NBA. Had a few good years. That's all. No championship, no mvp, no scoring title.
In the 90's i got Hakeem, Grant Hill, Jordan, Rodman & John Stockton 80's Isiah Thomas, Magic, Bird, Kareem & McHale 2000's Kobe, Iverson, Shaq, Tim Duncan & T-Mac
It gets me every time when they only talk about who are their all-time starting 5 is, I wish someone could ask them, who are their 2nd or 3rd best starting 5 that could challenge this team, sounds like more interesting questions to me.
My picks are also Defensive Stoppers and would play well together PG- Jason Kidd 2G - Michael Jordan SF - Scottie Pippen PF - Dennis Rodman C - Hakeem Olajuwon
Pippen is better than grant hill no doubt Grant would’ve been better if not injuries so calling him too 5 sf after 6 years of being fit is really dumb.
@Aaron Daneils top 10 is debatable but definitely top 15. I love Grant Hill don’t get me wrong. He’s deserving of the HOF but he’s mostly in it for college awards. If Grant hill is in the HOF,which he should be then Chris Webber and Penny Hardaway should as well.
@Aaron Daneils top 10 debatable but yes they deserve it. But I believe a prime pippen was better than hill. But if your classing it just full on ability then i guess you can put hill over pippen while I wouldn’t. I’d love penny and Cwebbrr to be inducted this year alongside the truth even though I despise him.
My all-time starting 5. PG - John Stockton…Holds the all-time number in assists and steals. Won’t never be broken. 15806 assists and 3265 steals. SG - MJ…Hands down, best shooting guard of all time. SF - Scottie Pippen…led the Bulls in every statical category when MJ retired in 93. By far, one of the top all-around players ever. Very lethal defensive player. PF - Karl Malone…Lethal scorer behind MJ in points per game. Can run the floor for a big man and nobody gets in his way when he barrels down the lane. C - Hakeem Olajuwon…Not only he led the Rockets to 2 NBA Championships between the Bulls dynasty but even The GOAT, MJ, said that his Bulls would have a very hard time against the Rockets in 1994 because of Hakeem if MJ didn’t retired. Hakeem’s moves down low was sooo tough to defend and made it nightmare for centers.
U can’t compare Scottie n grants number like that.. 1st off jordan n pippen played in triangle. Their numbers will reflect it. It’s different n hill was the man on his team. Pippen had to share with Jordan
People acting like Scottie wasn’t 2nd (maybe 3rd correct me if I’m wrong) in MVP voting the first season Jordan was gone, and like everyone says, 1 shitty blown call away from the finals. So his numbers are a touch under Grant Hill, but Pip was also the greatest defensive player of all time. It’s really no contest, Pip>Grant Hill
Shaq = Centre Rodman = PF Pippen = SF Jordan = SG Hardaway = PG Why? Because Shaq played with Hardaway and Rodman. Jordan, Pippen and Rodman played together as well.
Isiah the only small guard to lead a team to a championship until Curry people forgot how great he was losing to Chicago was inevitable pistons was getting old just like the Celtics was getting old when the pistons beat give that man his flowers
Magic was on the decline, Bird's back was F.U.B.A.R, Christian was a non factor, Mullin was an Ok at best pick. 96 had a killers row, starting and off the bench. Jordan and nostalgia aren't enough to overcome peak Payton, pre-injury Hardaway or deadeye Reggie, Hill, hungry Barkley and Hakeem (how was he off 1992's squad) or Beast Mode Shaq as the 5?
@@allencarpenter3023 They were all on the 96 team besides Ewing and Mullin. The weakest player on the 96 team was Mitch Richmond and he was a great replacement for Mullin

Penny was the man but he only had 3 great years
@@CH-kk7rw He was a 4 time All-Star, and during those 4 Year's he was the top PG in the League, and top 5 Overall. The Odds a Player even makes the NBA is like 2%, it's an Elite Group. To me the difference between Pippen and Grant Hill is Scottie was selected to 8 All-Defensive 1st Team compared to 0 for Grant Hill!
1st Team - John Stockton, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Karl Malone, David Robinson
2nd Team - Gary Payton, Clyde Drexler, Grant Hill, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon
3rd Team - Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, Chris Mullin, Shawn Kemp, Patrick Ewing
Switch Hakeem and Robinson the rest is accurate
@@blo2706 I think Robinson edges out Hakeem due to his one more All-NBA 1st Team placement, but it is extremely close.
@Aaron Daneils People seem to forget that Hill only played five seasons in the 90s... Yes, I pick Pippen over Hill and it's really not even close.

Shaq saying Dream Team 2 could beat Dream Team 1 is the dumbest thing ever.

My top 10 (ballers on their prime) all time, not in order:
MJ

Magic

Jabbar
Wilt
Duncan
Dr.J (NBA/ABA)
Shaq

People be tripping about this SF of the 90s with Pippen ......thats Grant Hill .... Yeah he won championships (Jordan) but the better head to head. Player was clealy Grant Hill
Put Jordan with Grant Hill and his numbers would be below pippens.... easily. Pippen is the better choice
In the 90's i got Hakeem, Grant Hill, Jordan, Rodman & John Stockton

If Jordan or Pippen played in Hill's team, either of them would have been the man in their team.
