Few key points if you're looking for a "review" rather than first impressions:
    - New battery has a 10,000 mAh capacity, just under double that of the old BoboVR batteries.
    - Can't use the old batteries on the new S3 Pro strap, they simply don't fit/connect
    - I can still hear the fan buzz WITHOUT over ear headphones on, it's slightly* less noticeable but can definitely still be heard when using the Quest 3 built in speakers. It's a loud fan in my opinion. Only really for fitness/intense sweaty useage cases.
    - Can't hear any buzz/noise from the new battery, that issue seems exclusive to the old battery/M3 Pro.
    - The battery charges the Quest 3 pretty quickly, took my Quest from 0% to 10% in about 15minutes
    - You can buy spare batteries but they don't seem to be in stock yet
    - Current price is an introductory offer and it will be rising in price in February

Future reference...please talk about audio. Audio is everything and you dont mention if this has headphones and or how headphones work with it? As earbuds and other options are a problem with many strap setups.
I must have a fan when I play. I use a bobo one for everything. So a fan is a nig win for me but noise level is important but again that's why I would prefer an audio discussion in your review.

Just received it (5 days after ordering, from China to Europa, superfast). The fan works fantastic, much better than the older fan Bobovr made. This one really cools off your forehead during intense games. The fan hardly makes noise up until 30% and then already cools off nicely. That is in total silence. When playing a game I can set it to 100% and don't even hear the fan.
Much more comfier to wear than the M2 Pro, double battery life.. very worthy upgrade.

I'm beginning to wonder if there is unit-to-unit variance in fan. But given it has 100 levels of adjustment it should be possible to tune a sweet spot that keeps fan silent but working.

I'm going to be honest I suffer from motion sickness when I play VR but the one thing that absolutely helps me out is having a fan going because it stops me from getting too hot and uncomfortable and completely stopping me from getting motion sickness I have to put a fan on every time I play anyways so the addition of it coming included into the headset is something I'm highly satisfied with

Got the M3 recently and like it as I loved the halo design for my Q2. That the S3 has a bigger back cushion and holds better makes it tempting. I'm not interested in the fan as I just have an actual fan blowing on me if I'm doing cardio intensive VR games. The battery/fan indicator is useless as a solo user as the light "beep" when the battery runs out is a gentle enough reminder for me while playing.
Hope they offer up a cheaper version without the fans or indicator as I like the better fit/comfort aspect.

@@FleaOnMyWiener Received mine yesterday (UK). It's really nice. Very comfortable. For comparison, I only have the Quest 2 elite strap with battery and the original Playstation VR. It's as comfy as the Playstation VR for sure. I've always thought the halo design was the way to go, and it's so nice to finally use a strap that keeps the weight off the cheeks. It is pretty well balanced, but maybe still a tiny bit front heavy - I occasionaly need to nudge it upwards from time to time, but I may not have fine tuned the adjustment yet as there are lots of ways to tilt and extend bits. I think because it's no longer airtight around my eyes, it hasn't fogged up yet so haven't had to use the fan. I suspect that it may do the job keeping the lenses clear though. I did try using the strap without the eye guard like a quest pro. My experience was that it gradually worked its way down so it was resting on my nose, but again that may be down to me just getting the adjustment right. Without a doubt though, this is a lovely strap. The fan is great and much quieter than having a fan on in the room!

Thanks for the Bobo update mate. Personally I've still very happy with my Q3 Elite battery strap (original one replaced for free with latest 2023/12 batch btw). Also, I already use a desk fan blowing on me so I doubt there would be any advantages to using the Bobo fan. Maybe something you can compare later. Thanks again mate and cheers.

The noisy fan wouldn't bother me. I'm hoping it will help in Supernatural which is a phenomenal workout experience.
The thing which is bothering me is the comments I've heard on two reviews now which is that it feels like a light breeze so my worry is it won't be strong enough.

Fan is a nice feature to forget about till you need it and maybe then you'll be listening to some loud exercise music, lol. They'll probably put a charge % screen on a dock down the road and hey maybe the battery will last long enough that swapping might not even be necessary. Appreciate the honest first impressions. I ordered one as my current swappable extended battery option killed itself. I think it overheated and damaged the terminal pins spring. While some might be upset this didn't come out sooner I am gambling that they've taken their time and tested this thoroughly. Will be my 3rd headset battery. Started with the Meta elite strap and we saw how that failed after a month of use. Hibloks seemed promising and worked well, but now I am waiting for overseas mail for the replacement part. Cue circus music in my background.

I mainly use my quest for fitness with beat sabre, thrill of fight, pistol whip etc, so the fan for me is great and the noise not an issue under the circumstances. Okay, I don't know if anyone knows about this but Meta apparently has made some changes to the design of the headset so that it now directs some of the cooling air for the headset through the inside of the headset. When the headset is cold and I wear it, it starts to fog up, but after a while the fog just clears and I can feel a little breeze of air inside the headset. So there's really no need to put a fan on the head straps anymore I think. Also I really wonder what's the point of putting a display on the outside of the headstrap which you will never see when you're wearing the headset. They might have easily put a button on the outside of the strap and when you click on it it can light up an LED facing towards your face in kind of Morse code fashion. Or a better solution is to just replace the fan with a vibration motor. When you click on a button outside of the headstrap the vibration motor on the forehead will vibrate according to the level of the battery. I also believe that the back design should change, like it should combine the battery and the adjustment mechanisms all into one. I think I will pass this one and wait for the new battery adapters for the M3 Pro.

At first, I thought the new design charge indicator was great and smart looking but it’s not very practical at all in reality for the reasons you stated in the video but also, I sometimes used to remove the battery to quickly check the charge status and snap back on whilst wearing the headset or in middle of a game. With this new strap you’d have to take off your headset completely just to check it’s charge . Not a very big deal but if you use hand straps for the controllers, it all could get a little annoying. The fan is a great idea though imo as I got so much hotter in the quest 3 then I did quest 2 but it’s only worth it if it actually cools you down. Also, it’s another thing that would drain the battery packs.. Hmm..
Think I’ll wait before rushing to order this one 🤔👍

Sadly bit if a lazy review here which is a shame as you’ve been given the headstrap early for the very purpose.
Not even knowing or finding out and reporting the capacity of the new battery is poor - 10000mAh btw so almost double the original B2.
Also not testing the battery at all to see if it is charging the headset during use which was many ppls issue with the B2s on the M3 Pros not holding charge and dying within an Hr.
You also didn’t mention at all if this battery buzzes but refer back to many ppl having issue with that very problem on the B2s..🤷‍♂️
Rushed out “Unboxing/first look” at best but sadly missed opportunity and not answered the key questions most ppl with M3s would be interested in.

You don't live in the tropics and use VR, trust me when I say you need the fan. Especially if the room doesn't have AC. When you have fans running all the time in the background, you kind of don't hear them anymore. Unfortunately, I literally just ordered a M3 which was out for delivery when Bobovr brought out this new headset. :( So I'll see how it goes with that before looking at this new headset.
I read that Bobovr will be bringing out a battery replacement set so you can change the M3 battery for the new one. But seeing your unboxing, I can see that as a problem because you can't check whether the battery is fully charged or not outside the headset.

I have an m3 pro with an amvr facial interface (not sure what face interface you use, I felt the amvr helps with comfort and wobble), im curious and every headset review is very dangerous and subjective when it comes to claims about comfort because everyones head is different. I often play with an M3 pro without the battery until its needed because between the headset and battery weight its alot of grams on my head and can lead to neck pain. This one is even heavier with fans and heavier battery. Have you analyzed the comfort playing long periods of time and how that additional weight on top might be to much on peoples neck? Or are you dead set this is more comfortable then the m3 pro? I didnt notice an issue with the m3 back not feeling sturdy. Just dont want to run out and buy an S3 as well if its more placebo or not for me.
