The Taliban currently occupy the roads and villages in Panjshir Valley, but the National Resistance Front (NRF) are still hiding out in the mountains overlooking the valley. There are still skirmishes occurring in Panjshir Valley with the Taliban and NRF ambushing and raiding each other.
Now they have operations and support in 3 different provinces not just districts. Beyond the national resistance front of Massoud there is a few other groups now. Afghan Freedom Front lead by Yasin Zia and there is the Andarab Front in Baghlan and Parwan. Khost Farang has remained contested as well, over 2 years now.
