I love how Devin always asks the question “why not?”, instead of “why?”
Science isn't about why it's about why not - Cave Johnson
Hi, i’ve been watching you for six years now and I have to say that you’re the reason I got in to 3d printing and 3d pens you’re the person who inspired me to get a 3-D pen and later get a 3-D printer so thank you
I love the climbing mount! Legitimately useful for getting top down views, I could definitely see more people adopting that.
Devin has the coolest combination of hobbies in anyone I know 😎 Always a joy watching what he comes up with next!
"One thing I haven't augmented yet, is my body."
Bro what about that time you turned yourself into a Bop-It
Clearly I had a lapse in memory
This week on “Devin voids a warranty “ 😂
It's how all great projects begin 😁🙌
10:02 Keep going! In addition to making the OP-1 more fun to use, you’re well on your way to making it more accessible for our differently abled music friends 😄
awesome video. SUPER inspirational. Thank you for that
So there is one company that sells body safe neodymium magnets that you can implant in your fingers, their kit includes everything needed for the "operation"
Don't tempt me!
Cody from Cody's Lab did it himself.
Great timing, I got an X3 that arrived a few days ago and can't wait to print some accessories for it. My first idea was a wire rig case, which is essentially just your hardshell with some ball bearings tacked on.
After all these years I'm amazed how you keep the videos entertaining, educative & innovative at the same time.
Your videos are always so unique and creative! They always inspire me. Not necessarily to make the same or similar things, but just to keep making things to customize my stuff. Keep up the great work! Will you be going to the first big Maker Fair in Los Angeles? It's in April, and I'm sure they would love to have you talk or show your stuff at a booth there.
Love your functional prints.
the 360 climbing trick is sooo amazing never thought of it
Great job, man!
Watching you hack away at that 2,000$ OP1 made me so anxious! Hahahaha
lol your crazy Dev mate ..love it
Honestly, TE should seriously take note of your additions of magnetic bits to the keys. It would be both an interesting design and manufacturing challenge as well as a never-before-done-in-an-instrument. The foot pedals too :O
the front of the board mounted shots are the best of the entire video. Imo
Maybe for the 360 camera you can make a magnetic holder to place on metal objects as you ride by or even a suction cup mount
TPU 'suspension' between the skateboard and the mount to take away the vibrations, also a TPU mount where the camera attaches to the selfie stick!!!
Love your videos
Magnus *needs* to see that climbing camera mount.
All these 3D prints are much more costlier than my whole life 😝
no, your life is priceless ;)
I kept thinking about those attachments for controllers that translate movement from little wheels to the sticks for more detailed steering etc. there are also mods for playing with only one hand. maybe you could go to translating inputs of a bigger/adapted input method to the keys. oh there are also ergonomic five finger shaped keyboards that let you type all keys without moving any finger left or right, only resting at one place. oh well...
also for shoes boric acid is perfect for a fresh /neutral smell in shoes. go look for a short from bigclive from the uk about it. non toxic and a simple effective way for keeping the smell under controll.
what would be cool is some restoration videos with 3D printing
The synthesizer board pedals are awesome and look so sleek and fitting to the original product design. And the flexible “springs” are a great idea.
Also please be joking about the magnet thing 😬
When Storror record first person with their gopros, they have a bite grip mount for it because it's the most stable way to record. Maybe you could make up something like that for the insta360
Gundam Markers might be a little more wear resistant than posca ones, the paint is more durable and less likely to rub off
I do recall there being a guy somewhere who implanted a magnet into his finger, though he didn't keep it in for too long, and might've got his finger infected
Why not make 3d printed attachments for your fingers with a space for the magnets? Like an exoskeleton
That could work!
Hey Devin! I recently got some E6000 for Christmas for various projects and for some reason, whenever I try to squeeze some out, it just keeps going until I put the cap back on. Any suggestions?
Yeea, it's kind of like a 3D pen where I try to stop squeezing earlier than I actually want to since it will keep going. I'll also press in the wide sides of the tube near the bottom to 'pull' the glue back in and stop the flow... it's kinda hard to describe my exact technique though :\ Also trickier when it's a fresh full tube... and generally squeeze lightly.
OP-1 should be a name of a canopy.
Were you using your Insta360 X2 to record 360 footage of your Insta360 X3? Recording something with its replacement seems cruel lol
They were just hanging out together! ;P
I'm sorry to tell you you already did augment your body before I watched you bopping it on youtube 1 time LOL
Omg true 😂
When he started I somehow expected the magnets to press the keys from (slightly) afar using opposite polarities - pushing them by hovering thus not having to fit the entire finger in the key, have a bit leeway.
Probably won't work well but eh.
Hmmm, I've gotta flip the glove and give it a shot!
Do a 3d Simo basic 3d pen video
Cody over on codyslab actually did give himself a magnetic implant, if you are interested in that kind of stuff, go check his video out!
Hey Devin,
I appreciate your breif allusion to implantable, bio-magnets. I just recently got my first magnetic implant done ("Dangerous things XG3") following 7 successful years with my NFC implantable chip. If you are thinking of doing the same and have any questions about bio-hacking, I documented doing mine and would be happy share and help you answer any questions you might have about injectable magnets. If your intersted of course. Love the vids!
sadly I think finger magnets would interfere with my climbing 😅
Would be nice if before showcasing the Insta360 X3 or something similar you would disclaim clearly that you received it for free and whether any money exchanged hands ore not. Otherwise a cool video as always.
I figure saying 'they hooked me up with the X3' makes it clear that they sent it to me for free, but I appreciate the suggestion!
Just glue the magnets in your fingers 😳
Magnetic finger implants are a thing lol
Can someone help me? I swear that Devin made a set of videos years ago about paper mache and also had some weird videos called 'Mr. Jazz guy' posted on a different channel. It was like a weird TH-cam short that was really cool but I can't find anywhere. Am I crazy?
Pls don't put magnets in your fingers Devin, they are notorious for degrading over time and the subsequent pain will make you unable to go climbing anymore.
There’s no way it costs 1.8k 💀
A fan would work better than the desiccate.
good idea :)
of course it won't help you play... the magnets on your fingers are stronger, so its actually pulling the keys UP, not pressing them down... sorry bro
