There are still many well preserved medieval towns in Europe, especially in countries such as France or Italy, which were not as badly destroyed as Germany in wars, but for some reason, and I really don't know why, Rothenburg is the most quaint and charming of them all. Every corner looks like it could be out of a story book. As if Hansel and Gretel were just about to stroll down the street or Rapunzel letting down her hair from a tower.
I really can't recommend this town enough. If you want to see the ultimate medieval fairy tale town, you need to go there.
I totally agree with your love of Rothenburg. It was on my bucket list for many, many years until we were in Germany to see it. I wish we stayed more than 1 night. Maybe we will return some year. Your wonderful comment is well appreciated 😀. Thanks for watching, and have a great day 👍

Really enjoyed your two part videos on Rothenburg, thank you. Really appreciate the blend of commentary and music which showcased the village beautifully. I stayed there almost 17 years ago and am planning to return again to stay for 4 nights this October, so can’t wait to visit this gem again. Can’t believe that the Nightwatchman guy is STILL going strong! He was awesome back in 2005 too!!
