That is an amazingly stunning palace and grounds. It does remind me a lot of Versailles and also Schonbrunn in Vienna. I learned about Ludwig II years ago from a "Stuff You Missed in History Class" and was always fascinated by it. But I never realized just how beautiful his palace was.

Wow back in the day building was an art. None of our new building have this type of workmanship. It’s a shame we lost this gift of creating masterpieces.

I have not heard of Linderhof Palace, so thank you for showing it to me. I have wanted to go to Germany and Bavaria looks lovely. The palace is beautiful and the manicured grounds are lovely. Take care.
Ludwig had a personality of contrasts as it seems. Builds an extravagant Schloss, but a (comperatively) modest Palace. I would expect him to build a big Bavarian Versailles. Maybe its the financial reasons.

He tried to build a replica of Versailles, but in a smaller scale. Go and look for Herrenchiemsee castle. The man was really insane.
