I was just watching about 2 hours worth of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Yngwie, Dio, and I love all that stuff till the day I die...but then this popped up on my homepage and reminded me of the beauty of the classical guitar which had been momentarily lost to me.
One of the greatest guitar composition of all time...what a fragility ...sensuality...cute sadness...a fleur de peau like the french would say...thx for sharing....I can't imagine what BARRIOS was going trough to come out with such a master piece

It is sad that Barrios never recieved the acclaim he deserved during his lifetime. This is partly to do with the fact that 100 years ago the leading classical guitarist, who was Segovia, said Barrios was not a good composer. This was completely out of jealousy of the amazing talent of Barrios. However Segovia was the leading spokesperson for classical guitar at that time and could make or break a guitarist with a few words. Gabriel Bianco did a fabulous job on this marvelous piece. Thank you for keeping Agustin Barrios alive.

I fell in love, with the guitar, I had this strange feeling in my heart, it was like, close to falling in love, but something stronger, stronger; that it's indescribable to put in words nor explain. . but until this day, I'm practice & practice too play, & play just like you, with feelings & emotion, that probably put a tear in you're eyes, because, you're playing something so beautiful, that anybody can relate; doesn't matter from nationality or skin! -Thanks man! You made my stressful day, go away!

True, but the tone is mostly related to the guitarist technique (how nails are buffed, angle of attack, etc.). A good guitarist extracts good tone from a poor guitar. Of course a great guitar helps and will hopefully have good volume and consistency of sound (for some reason guitars often have some notes that are not as good as the rest no matter how hard you try).

What an impressive performance. Every note is clean, with a nice tone and controlled. In addition, the music itself is played with tremendous musicality. I do not think I have heard a better version. I used to play this piece in concerts and I know it is not easy.

I've listed to about two dozen performances of this piece now and I keep coming back to this one as the best.
