Dangote's daughter is a split image of her father. What a striking resemblance. I wish she also possesses the business IQ of the great man. Apart from being at the peak of Africa's wealthiest for more than a decade now, Aliko's unique attribute is his belief in the untapped investment and business potentials within Nigeria and Africa. He does not own a single residential mansion abroad or even in Abuja, despite his wealth. He owns two only: one in Lagos, Western Nigeria, and another in his home state of Kano in Northern Nigeria. That is how humble, reserved and unflambouyant this man is. What an exemplary businessman and Black man.

To be honest, I'm not excited about this Dangote Refinery yet, knowing how much those who control things in this country have no regard for the common masses, something tells me this new development wouldn't really favour the masses the way we hope it would. It's either NNPC stalls distribution of the fuel and we keep buying it at N900/ltr and above for a while or it comes down to N750/ltr, which is still expensive

What form of deregulation is this ? Why should the NNPC control pricing for dangote

You mean the smuggling of petrol across our national borders in tankers, but certainly not crude-oil theft. It is only Peter Obi as president that will stop the latter.

The question to ask Mr Aliko Dangote is that was it the Federal Executive that determines the price at which he sell his cement to the public. We are waiting to be exploited as usual.

If you listen to the documentary carefully you will hear when Alhaji Dangote said that it is in the arrangement or naira to naira agreement. Crude oil is a global business. This business is done basically on dollars or local currency at exchange rate of that currency. If Dangote is to buy crude oil from NNPCL he need to look for dollars. And NNPCL have crude oil and we can sell in dollars or naira at the exchange rate. After selling crude oil in dollars NNPCL need dollar to import refined petrol. Since Dangote deem it fit to build this refinery in Nigeria and NNPCL is selling crude oil. NNPCL had a meeting with Dangote agreed to sell crude on naira to him at the current exchange rate this will save Dangote from looking for dollars but putting it in that agreement they will only be the sole buyer from him and he agreed. This will reduce the pressure on FX. Don't forget it will be sold to Dangote the same amount they sell it abroad but in ñaira at the current exchange rate oo not that it will be cheaper for Dangote. Crude oil per barrel now is $87/barrel. And currently naira to dollar is 1600. Instead for Dangote to pay $87 he will pay 87x1600=139000 in naira. With this value petrol is just one component of this crude oil and it's 0.7. 0.7/139000 is 1,129 in naira. Cost of production of petrol is 1,129. If Dangote produces petrol at 1,129naira, how much will you expect him to sell it. Don't forget as NNPCL is importing petrol their landing cost is 1300 and they were selling it 600 before, it means they subsidizing 700naira. The main issue is that dollar is 1600naira. This is the problem this govt create for devaluing naira. Because last year when naira was not devalued cost of production of petrol was 312naira.

If Nigeria were to be a serious NATION and is been governed by people with GOOD HEADS on their necks, no top management cadre of the incompetent and corrupt nnpcl would remain in office as we speak but alas the people who should do the needful are themselves swimming in IMPUNITY AND REVELING in unimaginable CORRUPTION. You go around the world and see the way sane and responsible government run the affairs of state, you begin to wonder if those running Nigeria's affairs are human beings or just ANI MALS IN HUMAN SKINS (credit to Fela Anikulapo Kuti). Big sigh!!!

@@rolio9775 ok. If he opens up on the amount he sells to NNPC then we now know if the price of 897 is okay or on the high side…. But for him to say he can not say anything about the price he’s agreed but can’t he also tell Nigerians how much he gave the product to them? What we lack in this country is transparency and for as long as that is missing Nigeria will continue on the same track.
