if one is cost conscious then a simple intake/exhaust with a fuel map and timing tune could put a stock v6 raptor at speeds faster than what is seen here, at a cost well under $10k. hennessey is obviously targeting a very specific socioeconomic demographic here, those who have the kind of "fuck you" money that price comparisons don't mean shit. you are obviously not someone who has "fuck you" money.
I'll take the Mercedes Benz G Wagon AMG for that price...or an F150 Shelby

But the raptor stock is crew cab and the hennesey raptor is 1/2 cab. in weight the raptor stock lost
And all of this on a vehicle that was not even intended for drag racing. It was to perform on off road high speed. I guess when 150k is pocket change, it doesn’t matter.
Put a performance tune on that Ecoboost and give it a half door too and do the test over.

The Shelby truck is about 80 k with 750 how. Either on a Shelby f150 or a Shelby Super Snake f150. 110k + for the Shelby raptor with 700 hp

Rich Soto The gap would be a lot closer . The high output V6 has 450HP the V8 supercharged raptor has about 700HP. Btw the raptor has the High output V6 it’s just a little heavier than the standard F:150.

For everyone who’s watching and wants to know. There’s two ways to have a V8 Raptor. This company that puts a V8 in a Raptor. But it’ll cost you 150 grand. Plus their build time is several months and they are limiting production to just a hundred a year I believe. But you’ll have a real Raptor with a V8.
There’s another company that takes any trim level F-150 V8 crew cab and takes OEM parts and bolts on everything to make a Raptor Clone. They’ll even bolt on aftermarket parts to customize it how you want. They are also doing the F-150 diesel trucks now. There is a few off road modes you won’t have like the Baja Mode with their conversion. Their build time is about a month and will cost you about 35 grand if you want the suspension, bodywork, and supercharger on top of the price of the 2015 or newer F-150 you either already have or just bought.
Ok there might be a third option. According to a bunch of real auto websites in a few years Ford will be putting the 5.2 Voodoo motor in the Raptor. Looks like this might be a more credible rumor than the 7.0 rumors that had been making the rounds. So a real Raptor with from the factory with a V8.

Stock raptors can be either a supercab(2 full doors and 2 half doors) or a supercrew(4 doors). So I would assume that you can buy either from Hennessey.

Bigger precision turbos on the v6 raptor will be a different story less then 100k too.

Very very funny... The Raptor would eat the Ram Trucks (any of them), now for the towing world, the diesels are very impressive by Dodge. I wish they'd do away with the Ram Logo and re-launch a new line of Power wagon series! I own a 1969 Dodge D200 Power wagon with a 383 Big Block motor( my future Baja rig)
Truth. Plus the Velociraptor V8 has a Lift Kit & significantly larger tires. The set-up should've been more similar. If it was, the V8 woulda been even quicker!

@v KEITH v this one has 750HP with V8 and Whipple Supercharger how much more horsepower are you taking about with turbos without forging internals of the engine, changing over oil pump, driveshafts etc. so the engine and all other components wouldnt crap out. 750HP its pretty much safe number without forging internals anything above this and your build bill will definetly go up to make all componets of the internals handle extra power. Plus this one is a Raptor with all its futures working as they should from factory not regular F150. I understand Turbo concept but not in V8 pickup truck unless you building it to be drag race truck ... but who wants drag race vehicle to weight 5800lbs 😂. Supercharger gives you power on demand right from the start.
I like the full blown 6.2 with icon suspension, no more than $25k upgrades, and add racing harness, done :)

Hennessey should have given the curb weight of each truck. While it doesn't appear to be a direct comparison due to supercab vs. supercrew, the bumpers on the V8 truck alone likely add 250lbs or so. The Coyote V8 weighs more than the V6 with the 2.9L S/C on there. The wheels and rubber likely weigh 25lbs more per wheel. All the upgrades add up. As far as the price is concerned, this truck isn't marketed to people who are going to finance or sell off other belongings to purchase it. Most of the customer base isn't going to stress over dropping $150k on a truck like this.

Austin Lourinho it has something to do with the computers on this truck it’s a weird deal, if a truck was a v6 with a v8 even after reflash or new computer the truck for some reason still wants the v6 and sets codes off and weird stuff like that. They say it’s easier to make a v8 f150 a raptor than to engine swap one idk weird deal
It has to do with the Off Road modes. Baja mode alone is tied into the turbos. Keeps the turbos spooled up all the time for more power on demand. Swapping a V8 means that the ECM would be trying to spool up something that wasn’t there. Would be throwing warning lights and codes left and right.

5 somewhere around 85 percent engine capacity in the raptor. The 5.0 gets better gas mileage, its faster, and sounds better.

Really surprised the stock Raptor seemed to fair pretty well in the 0-60 space. You break the stock one and you take it into the dealer. You break the Hennessey and you ship it back to Texas on your dime.
The real world negative with the Raptor is it is as wide as an H1 Hummer. So most trails are not possible. Plus cross a bridge when a dually is coming the other way and things can get interesting (been there in an H1). My guess is the Ranger Raptor is a much more enjoyable day to day vehicle - if it comes to the US.

ben riv Hennessy does great work man but you’re paying quite a bit for the Hennessy Name here. The 5.0 truck motor is already offered in a F150 so the motor swap shouldn’t be hard at all. 17k for the truck 5.0 and blower and 6K for install and tuning would be reasonable at most non name brand shops. Then you still have the full working ecoboost V6 you can sell to bring cost down. How much is warranty and the Hennessy name worth?
