Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you. Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. Proverbs 9:7-9
Yep, and this can be phrased so many different ways. "It's your responsibility to leave if you don't like the way someone is treating you." (While refusing to acknowledge or apologize for the behaviors you brought up to them) is one example I experienced.
Not long before I heard about narcissism I met with a narc friend for lunch to talk about how she was undermining me in a group we were in. She tried these things to redirect the conversation but I didn't recognize what she was doing, I just thought it was odd and immature behavior. I have a logical mind so I kept bringing the original topic back up and tried to get her viewpoint on it. I was careful to use "I feel" statements and kept a calm, softer voice the whole time. I could see the confusion building in her when she couldn't get the upper hand, which confused me, but the more agitated she got the calmer I got. Finally, this grown woman in her 50's burst in to enraged tears in the restaurant and refused to finish the conversation or the lunch! I was shocked and embarrassed for her. A few months later I learned about the concept of narcissism and it all finally made sense.
We must know and live by the Holy Word, and carry Christ’ spirit, the Holy Spirit with us. We pray for protection, wisdom and discernment in everything we do. The Lord is more powerful than a narcissist or any unclean spirit sent to harass or manipulate.
Thank you. I relocated and you are teaching me how to choose a church and friends wisely. One thing I never do is share personal information. It's amazing to me when people are way to personal with me, a complete stranger. I am polite and listen. But I don't reciprocate. Thanks!❤😊
thank you for this insight! i’ll definitely do the same. it’s so important to keep this boundaries tight in the beginning and loosen as discernment informs us to within each growing relationship. Less is more, it takes time to create healthy relationships and friendships in new places. No need to rush into oversharing and having to back track when accidentally mixing with the wrong crew. Praying things go smoothly and you thrive at your new church!
I tried using a sentence or two like the one you suggested, and my narc sister told me that if I wanted to be friends with her, we were going to need to have some ground rules - established by her. She told me we would have to use the Gottman Method, which was created for married couples, and which assumes that both people have equal footing in the relationship. I believe this would just be another way for my sister to try to maintain the upper hand in our relationship.
@@FoxSleeping What I wrote above came after much gaslighting, deflecting, and blame shifting from her. Because of what preceded this, I don't believe she is being balanced or fair. She is very intelligent.
Whether she's consciously aware or not, it appears that is what she's doing (aka manipulative power struggle mainly due to immaturity & low self-esteem & self-awareness)
This video is literally an answer to my prayer yesterday and the day before. I first prayed for direction and help on the 26th of December concerning a situation that is overwhelming to me emotionally. I have so much responsibility and my emotions are so overwhelming concerning a narcissistic person in my life. I need to deal with this so I can fulfill my serious obligations, but I don’t know where to start. Thank you. This is a good beginning place for me. God bless you. God bless you a thousand times. 🙏🏽🙌🏽🎁🎄
Thank you ! I sooo appreciate you and your wisdom and practical tips to tackle this awful awareness . They are all around me ! Praising God for your light !
*For me IMO it's the old "I'm not a Narcissist ... **_You're the Narcissist!!!_* *It's like a kindergarten kid on the playground ... "I don't eat worms you do!!!"*
Far outtttt! Two of those phrases were said to me recently. I was left confused and upset and when that person left I sought the Lord and checked with Him and He totally settled and assured me and I felt led to step away from that friendship.
Thank you dear one and HAPPY NEW YEARS. I am so grateful every time I see your videos, and I love posting and sharing them because they have so much wisdom and truth. From Cynthia Ann in JANESVILLE, WI
Yes, sister in the mega sea of secular counseling, I almost went insane...but when I found you and Kris Reece, it restored my spiritual sensibilities and grounded me...the soul of a believer must bear witness with the Spirit...BLESSINGS!
My wife's whole church subscribes to this thinking - "god is revealing things that YOU need to deal with YOUR flesh." It's very rare that they need to course correct. Even when they understand exactly what I'm pointing out, it's still MY fault, and they continue to do or not do what is right or scriptural. I left the church...
A family member uses 1 Corinthians at me when I bring up what she's actively doing or has done so I'm the bad guy. 1 Corinthians 13:5 NIV [5] It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
They are gaslighting you. Expose the works of darkness means to bring them to light, revealing their true nature and the consequences they. bring. This involves more than just recognizing or avoiding sin; it requires actively confronting and denouncing it. Eph. 5:11-14
@kimortegastrongwarriorbrid5334 Thank you, Kim 🤍 I'd use the term gas-lighting but they won't know what it means. I'll continue to keep my newly established boundaries.
I hope this helps. Have you seen Forrest Gump? How Forrest handled Jenny? The number 1 gift you can give another and what God gives us, is free will. As Forrest treated Jenny, he did not ever block or try to control her. He accepted her, communicated and let her exercise her free will. He was always true to his feelings and honored hers. Ultimately, Jenny comes back to the only person who truly loved her because true love is a magnet. I understand relationships and conditions and boundaries to try and get your needs met, but, do you want to love them and allow them complete autonomy or do you want a transaction? You see, empaths want what they want from the narc…compliance and for them to change. How convenient and lazy for us. You asking this of them is experienced to them as them asking you to change to their personality. The only option that is to love them or leave them. You can set conditions but that’s not loving them, that’s controlling them.
But the fruit of the spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, kindness, gentleness, self control, goodness and faithfulness (Galatians 5: 22-23). And Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire (Mathew 7-19). Narcissists steal good fruits and replace them with bad fruits such as hatred, lack of Joy and peace, unkindness, rude behavior, lack of self control, evilness and unfaithfulness. Ex: continually asking someone to hurry without any proper reason just to make them impatient steals their good fruit of patience. The bad fruits are not Christ-like, but anti - Christ like.
When she disagreed with me, her favourite shut down was, ‘Well God knows the truth and some day you’re going to answer to him!” Very hurtful! It killed me!
Those phrases wouldn’t work on me and my abuser knows that. I would have laughed. But he used others. Still attempts to even after being apart for years. Be careful who you have children with. And also once the narc destroys their own life to a massive degree without you to blame they try to rebrand to come back into your life. Remember they do not change. Ever!
How bout this one... "You dont the spiritual eyes and ears to see and hear the truth. You cant see me or hear me because you dont have the spiritual eyes and ears." 😂😂😂😂
yyyyyup! I was supposed to be happy for a abuser physically and spiritually abusive, yelling at me Im "tongues"..."just be glad she's going to church," meanwhile,....ay. I've been trying to tell the church they must get educated on this.
“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy-full of greed and self-indulgence! You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too.” Matthew 23:25-26 NLT
They love to bind heavy burdens upon others but lift not a finger themselves. They'll brag it's all because of them though. You wouldn't have been able to tie your shoes if not for them cussing up a storm and yet you're so ungrateful. It's maddening!
On the other hand, if the narcissist criticises your spirituality as being manipulative, God will fall down very heavy on them. For those who don’t believe what I’m saying: just try criticising a Christian for holding standards that are too high, and wait for God’s reaction!
The Pharisees tried to “win” an argument with Christ about who dead women were married to, and His answer was basically that all women will be free. Matthew 22:30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

I think she is offering her boundaries, needs and desires. I think this is healthy. Did she offer your ideas or just what she is willing to accept?

Another one of my favorites: "You're being legalistic." 😂😂😂
When they are really angry and you say you love them they say you are gaslighting them. They don't have the proper definition of what gaslighting is.
