It was a very good race. As soon as I saw you setting 43s, I knew it would be a tough final few laps. Kinda proves how hard it is to overtake in the rain though if the driver ahead sticks to the proper braking points.

That's was some proper racing there! Amazing lobbies too! About what you said of not worrying about the guy behind and "ignoring" the pressure, I find that daily meditation really helps for me. I think if a racer will work on his muscles (neck for example) to improve, he/she must also exercise their mind as well.
If the penalties are turned off then I find myself watching videos of Japanese and German kamikaze pilots as inspiration for my mind
'If you can avoid death in most circumstances then that's probably ideal.' Advice to follow to the end.

Once again, great racing Steve! I can't handle the rain. In 1st and 2nd gear especially, a little tap on the gas, trying to be careful, and I'm spinning. Maybe it's easier on wheel than controller. I had to use TC1 to get an ok time trial lap. Maybe that might work in my D lobbies anyway.
Yeah from everything I've heard, it's far harder on a controller than a wheel in the rain. There's no shame in using TC in these conditions.

I managed to take 2nd position after qualifying 11th on the same track, same race actually. Unfortunately a few mistakes landed me in 7th at the end of the race. Still good imo!

How are you using the curbs? Rule one in wet race's is to avoid the curbs they are to slippery especially on ACC.

I've done this race like 50 times already, I really enjoy it. I can't seem to get faster than 2:49 laps. I'm wondering where my mistakes are
Im horrible in the rain i use a ferrari gr.3 (dont remember the exact model) but it puts power way too aggressivly so i just slide everywhere

I hadn’t played it either until the last month and GT Sport is phenomenal, as good as it looks here when he plays. I figured i’d get accustomed to everything for a couple months before GT7 drops.

Its funny i have played Gran Turismo (Offline) since GT1 until GT5 Prologue and i thought i was good LMAO until i started watching Steves videos and realized my life is all a lie (i was you tipical dive bomber sending Ai Cars into the shadow realm and taking every shortcut possible) 🤣🤣🤣
Im a COD youtuber but this year COD VANGARBAGE is so bad, i bought GT Sport and im not sending Ai cars into the shadowrealm anymore, its actually more satisfying playing legit and collecting that clean race bonus. but im still a noob and i would be destroyed online lmao
From watching videos, it seems like if you just drive cleanly and try to avoid getting intentionally rammed by other drivers, you'd do pretty well even as a beginner, and get some multiplayer practice in as well.
With how the ranking system works, you'll find plenty of people who are the same skill level as you online
You are loosing out. Online racing can be intensely frustrating, but also so much more fun than fighting the AI, which is clearly programmed to let you by (to maximize engagement with the youth not accustomed to loosing...).
Hey man don’t worry abt it, everyone has to start somewhere. You just gotta take that step and join ur first online lobby, and keep at it. You’ll refine you’re driving style as you move up the sportsmanship rank (which is essential if you don’t want to rage quit the game playing against d rated mfers). But trust, practicing against bots doesn’t really help you improve, just gotta keep doing those online races and you’ll get better faster than you realize!
Just join a lobby m8. I’d say the matchmaking and ranking system is actually pretty good in GTS, you’d meet similar people for sure.

Agreed. Whenever I see Spa in the rain I fear the worst. The fact that it's a grid start certainly helps and actually, racing in the rain is fun when you learn to drive in the conditions.

ACC was the first wet weather game i played (unless you count DiRT) and the rain makes everything way more fun and challenging. Especially at night!

I think the rain effects in this game look stunning considering everything else going on in the game. I just can't really find these races satisfying. The races themselves are fun I guess, but setting qualifying laps is a pain in the ass. I just find it very annoying to be driving so slowly. I wish there was an alternative race, but not really enjoying the Gr4 race either. Hopefully there are different races next week. However, it's nice to see a wet race for a change.

I like rain racing a LOT. It's WAY harder but way more fun to try to keep the car in place while doing the right amount of drifting to allow pushing the car and physics to the limit (I do in karts in real life and car in video games)

QUESTION: Should I buy GT Sport for the time being until 7 comes out? I’ve not played a Gran Turismo since 4 and mainly play other racing titles on PC. Was thinking maybe it would be good to practice on Sport to get used to tracks specific to Gran Turismo. Thanks for the Great content. I’m learning a lot from you.
I'd say pick up GT Sport as a good way to get up to speed ahead of GT7. I think you should be able to pick up the game for a decent price these days.

I'm a amateur behind by many years. Just started with a T300 Gt on a NLR Gttrack. So equipment is ok. You probably already know but.....if not I offer this ....brake balance. In the rain 🌧 if you move brake balance all the way to the front brakes.....YOU OUT BRAKE FOR OVERTAKES AND DONT SLIDE AS MUCH...Since your the pro.....would you please try this and tell me if I lm right or wrong. 🤣🤣🤣 No. Rain races are rubbish. They suck. Most people don't know how to drive on them, all the do is smash and slam you. They are the worst. Not a fan of any of the races this week, but especially not this one. Hopefully next weeks races are better.

Hey super I just wanted to send a quick thank you to you. I found your channel a few months ago and I've followed ever since, and its been responsible for getting me into sim racing. Just ordered a Fanatec DD and i'm looking forward to getting some winter practice in! I do trackdays in the summer so this should help me stay sharp in the winter!
I really hope GT 7 comes to the PC with Crossplay and taking advantage of powerful CPUs and GPUs. I love to race against the PS elites and finally have a racing game that truly showcase what a powerful PC can really do.
Even in the rain you seem to be better than others on the brakes.
Almost wants me to reinstall the game, but it takes up way too much space. Bloodborne, God of War, The Witcher 3 and Detroit: Become Human are thankful for my choice.
I TRIED to like this race because holy shit it looked like a fun time initially, but I have yet to finish one without some jackass spinning me out in the Chicane or in Les Combes and sending me 5 or 6 spots down the order while the penalty system does diddly squat. It almost feels like all the Forza drivers hopped onto this game.
