Lucy, I love the passion that shines through all of your videos in the distinct voice coming about. It is my dream to travel to England someday and visit the Jane Austen House Museum. As a writer myself, I truly find that there is a magic lingering within my presence as I write, my pen taking me to different thoughts and moments. Being an author writing about love and characters journeying to understand themselves, your entire experience enraptures my heart. Jane Austen was a genius of crafting characters with strong desires and authentic relationships that carry them forward. The wit visible in her writing is something unlike anything I have read before. It is a delight to know that you are writing a young adult contemporary romance that reimagines Jane Austen’s novels. One day, I shall walk with you to these rooms of books and stories, a copy of Pride and Prejudice from two hundred and ten years ago meeting my gaze. I love you

I stayed nearly opposite there for a photography workshop. There are outdoor orchids nearby. I did go to the house and saw the garden. My landlady worked there dressed in traditional costume on quite a hot day

Oh, very nice - glad you got so much out of the experience. In my opinion Jane Austen had the nicest handwriting of any major novelist (Dickens', conversely, was dreadful). Inventing the modern novel is one thing; keeping a quill in good order and writing well with it is quite another. A pleasure to hear from you, Lucy, and I await the imminent video on Sense and Sensibility. 🙂

Thanks for sharing this amazing experience with us. ❤️
Next time you go, and if you have time, you should visit nearby Basingstoke. In the town centre there's a statue of Jane. It's the town where she and Cassandra went to assembly balls and where her father purchased her writing box.

Amazing video. I can totally understand the hype. It could take an entire video to discuss the change of cover across the age. ( sorry for my English it’s not my first language 😅)

How lovely for you, what an experience 💛 to hold the first editions must have been so special, and to just be where Jane lived.

If I got hot to hold a first edition of Emma, I'd probably get tears of joy all over it LOL! I'm currently re-reading Emma right now, it's maybe my favorite Jane Austen.

What an amazing experience! I can't imagine holding a first edition, let alone one that Jane actually touched. There's a fiction book about Anne Sharpe that came out last year, Godmersham Park by Gill Hornby, that I can't wait to read.
