Cranes of these size typically work in the Petrocehmical/Offshore/Energy field, where many large prefabricated structures must be lifted and placed. Some weighing more than 2000 tons
Well, judging from the video, this was 'state of the art' ... back in 1993/1994, when this was filmed (I suppose, as the crane getting put together was ordered in 1993). The upload might be recent, the video itself is most likely not.

You want to know about cranes you ask a Union Ironworker .. I'm one of many all over the United States and Canada. We are known from the public as guys who build skyscrapers and bridges this is true but we do a lot of other things also. We do the biggest construction in the world. Is the most dangerous construction job on the planet and that's why we take it so seriously. I've worked with regs just like this at places like Exxon shell tosco big oil refineries making pics on smokestacks modules extreme wait very very extreme weight this rig will never be used to build a high rise skyscraper of any kind someone made a comment about that.oes it do we use it building highrise is the answer is no absolutely not for one reason is because it's way too slow Union ironworkers will hang 120 pieces of iron per day ,that crane could never go fast enough. The counterweight which is on the back of the crane has its own outriggers did you guys see the size of those truck tires with hydraulic shocks, the lattice on the boom section was bigger around than a mans body, and then in closing the big 1 that tells you this Crane can pick up The World, is this is a Crawler Crane the wheels are like A TANK BUT BIGGER. With a typical Crawler Crane, its usually pretty damn loud....but not this rig it doesn't even sound like a normal Crane.... So this crane that you just saw was never built for speed ,never but it was built to pick extreme wait like 100 ton,150 ton,200 tons ect. Anyway union workers are professionals it comes to knowledge of Cranes of all kinds because if you don't know the rig that you're working with, you could kill a lot of men in a heartbeat and cost millions and millions of dollars worth of damage with one little mistake.okay this 3rd Generation Union Ironworker talked way too much got to go have a great day everyone
I didn't get a shit, but it seems to be a very cool crane. PLEASE, can someone translate it to English? wolud be very nice so half of the world's population could understand it. Good job!
so, what is a crane like this worth? 20 million, 200 million? Takes a lot of time and heavy equipment to set it up..how long would it typically stay in a location and what kind of project is this designed for? Let's hear from you "crane-guys" out there.
why the most huge manufactured vehicule dont deserve a HD 1080 video and a nice 3d anim ? maybe they spended all money in the device and cannot afoard a 99euro camera ? and have no more bandwith for downoad blender for free ?
Immer wieder beeindruckend diese Riesen.
This was in Japan in 1994,at the time it was the tallest crawler crane ever built at height of 220 meters

17:40 😂when you're testing your brandnew supercrane in the werk and the operators are already ignoring the errors popping up on the display
Like seeing if the stability control works on your test drive, car salesmen love it when you try it out.
Standard test back in 94 was still the 125% overload , I believe

+uni000ver000sal Why do people ask stupid questions?
Start by learning German.
Quit posting English titles but no English or no sub-titles. I love Liebherr cranes but I hate videos I can't understand.
The video Titles are translated by youtube, the person posting the video had nothing to do with that.
