Hopefully Jeremiah fixed this permanently. I just got one

I ordered a new gear kit with green guard the new kit comes with a solid weld which I think is awesome not sure if the company green guard does that to each one or the manufacturer but it's a nice solid weld seems like it should hold up compared to the old design

Nothing to sense the stops open/close so that is an on going issue. Was thinking of purchasing one but now I'm a little apprehensive. Much thanks for your work on this.

The problem is this is a gearmotor that is being used as a rotary actuator. A rotary actuator has built in switches to automatically cut the power at each end of it's range of motion. The gear motor is still under power as it slams into the ends of it motion. I have been studying the various chute blockers and I like Green Guard design but it and any other like it is inherently flawed. Rotary actuators are very expensive and that is why the gearmotors are used.

Great solution...But what if you just got a guy to put some welding material in the center of that gear?

Did you use the 40lb magnets or the 100lb?

a wiper motor is not designed for this. put a resistor to drop the voltage down to 6 volts and it will more controllable so it doesn't slam so hard putting stress on the gears.

This is not a wiper motor. This is a motor used to run conveyor belts.

What is the material you are using under the guard. And how did you set that up. Because I am getting grass clippings covering me and my hydro's
