Split a short piece of rubber hose and slide it down onto the blade of your shoot blocker to protect the motor!

You could run a hot wire off the acc of the key switch. Then you will only have power when you turn it on

I watched your video and posted two previous comments. Both were deleted somehow. TH-cam censors I guess. All I said was it's hard to think about mowing & mulching with 8 inches of snow on the ground here in Maryland. I'll look into the chute blocker, but the link you posted takes me to a blank page.
