    Great educational video. I have been trying to learn the secrets of snares for more than a few years. What are your thoughts on loading snares?

      NBWildman I enjoyed the teaching aspect of it . You explained it very good. I liked the trick with the large lock for the thinner wire . Faster response .! Thanks again . Keep me coming ! Stay safe !

    I am a trapper as well in New Brunswick. Love your videos, keep up the good work. Just had a coyote/wolf pull the end off my snare. Have you ever tried swivels to prevent losses?

    • @dyouden
      @dyouden 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I double the cable over and use a double ferrule as an end stop. Don’t trust a single end stop especially on 1x19 cable

    • @NBWildman
      @NBWildman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a huge fan of swivels, but lot and lots of guys swear by them,

      @@NBWildman How many dogs do you typically lose a year? I have one big dog who is approaching wolf size. Have hooked him 3 times now and he keeps getting out. Any tips on strength for snaring would be appreciated. Thanks again NB Wildman!

    In case of an accidental pet dog trapped, what is the best tool to cut the cable in case I cannot manually set the dog free? Thank you……

    Great video
    Question...Do you, or would you recommend dying your snares? If no..Why? Or do you paint your snares? Why not use 7 x 19 cable?

    • @NBWildman
      @NBWildman  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not paint my snares, i do use a trick to dull them down, which will be coming up soon on the channel, i don't use 7x19 because i find it a little to "limp" and i like the ability to hold shape on my loops without a collar.

    Greetings, Do you dip or paint your snares to take the shine off the cable? Also, do you load your snares?

    • @NBWildman
      @NBWildman  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i do load my snares, i have a video on the channel explaining it, i do it very different from most people, i load the top end you should check it out. I will have another video soon showing how i dull my snares down, it's a natural way

    How to you tie your snare to the tree? what gauge of tie wire you use? Thanks

    • @NBWildman
      @NBWildman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use regular trapping tie wire 12-14 I think
