Most likely the club owner is over 45 years old and they want to have an environment for older women. Imagine a 45 years old woman staring at a crowd of young and clueless swimmers chatting away, without any care of the burden of life! As for high IQ, well, it is trying to make sure the people swimming there are composed and intelligent.
Nothing is wrong with that. It is a private club! They set the rules.
