I also think of "While You Were Sleeping. " Accents a plenty! Grandma taking aloud in Church on Christmas, grilling sausages in the stairwell. Lotsa fun!
Drop Dead Gorgeous is a good one. Made in 99 and is a beauty pageant mocumentary set in Minnesota it's pretty great! Kinda a chick flick but has lots of great classic Midwestern one liners in it.
Very good look at Minneeesota! Dark humor and no one is spared: disabled, mortician and stiffs, Lutheran Sisterhood Gun Club, anorexic, deaf people, Asians who love country Western music, assimilating by adopting an American girl , pedophiles, intellectually challenged family Catholics, makeup tips from a transvestite, the list is long! Hard to find now since it is very un-PC. But really, nobody is spared so it's not like they pick on any one group--fun and snark all the way around! Gallows humor-- like none you have ever seen !
I respect the appreciation for Uncle Buck and the Great Outdoors, but how can we talk about midwest movies without bringing up Field of Dreams? Ferris Bueller's Day Off? what's more midwest than playing baseball in a cornfield?
Charlie would do great as an extra on the show "Suits." Ozark.... I live just North of Lake of the Ozarks... tbh, it isn't that far off when you get into the deep of it. What goes around, comes around.

I am shocked that you guys didn’t say anything about the grumpy old men movies. Those are classic midwest movies.
The scene where he drives out to the ice shacks with "Hey Baba Reba" playing is the most midwestern part of a movie ever.
Hits too close to home!

Uncle buck should be rebooted by a streaming service as a series maybe miles would be great for it!! Everyone has a uncle buck
Guys we can’t forget about another midwestern classic Tommy boy with the legendary Chris Farley
Grumpy Old Men is one of my favorites.
