+noah I'm sorry no one ever complimented the way you look so you dont know shit about it but as long as its not overly sexual or something its actually ok to compliment someone. So stop being petty(:

Im not an ape so i dont care if people dont compliment how i look (we live in the 21st century). i just want to know how is his attractiveness relevant to this video. and maybe you're too dumb to realize this but there is a double standard

    • @aft0000
      @aft0000 8 ปีที่แล้ว +16

+noah bruh you just admitted that no one compliments you 😂😂😂 comments are here for people to say whatever they want whats irrelevant is what you consider relevant lol no one cares. Also if a man is complimenting a woman kindly without making it sexual she'll appreciate it as well too bad you dont know how to compliment woman lmao

I'm so happy that you're social and enjoying life again. You're making so much progress and that's inspirational. So many people who have mental illnesses (especially schizophrenia) are told they'll be lonely/single/friendless and won't be able to maintain relationships but I'm so happy to see you're proving them wrong! I'd love to see a video on that topic

thank you so much for your videos. My cousin who I grew up with was diagnosed with schizophrenia about a year ago. She has gone down a really awful path and her family (myself included) have no idea how to handle the symptoms. Everything I've seen of this illness is severe and she looks so lost all the time. But you clearly have the ability to function and rationalize and it's so encouraging, you said it started out really bad- I was worried she would just get worse but this gives some hope. thanks.

"Why do voices have to happen right when you're trying to sleep. That's just rude." I literally laughed out loud. At my desk at work. It's right on though, that shit gets a million times worse at night. And why? Like you said... it's just rude.

Andy Jones hey Andy I know it's been 9 months since your post but yea your first post pretty accurately describes what happens with me. I have managed to work through the negative symptoms and I'm starting to see things like what you describe. I think schizophrenia is like being tuned in with the spiritual world and most people don't know how to rationalize their experiences. They just write it off as dillusions and paranoia.

Just saw Anna Campbell's video, loved yours to as it gives the view of a 'patient'. And I don't mean that in a negative way or something I really loved this and feel for you. I have a friend who has early onset schizophrenia and we try to make him aware of it and try to help him by just listening to him and trying to get him to a therapist or something.

I was like you too always involved with sports and activities and I loved to learn. But recently my hallucinations and voices took me away from all that. i had a short schizophrenic episode too for a few months but man is it tough... the worst its gotten was probably near insanity and almost losing my mind because i couldn't control my thoughts and it hurt just to think. I've also had encounters where I think demons are in my room and feel their presence but not sure if that was related to my schizophrenia or not. hopefully God will heal you and you can live in peace man.! keep ur head up this isn't the end.

I don't really remember how I was before I started getting ill either. It's depressing. And every time I try to move forward I can feel the stress taking me back towards psychosis. So on top of not having the motivation to go on with my life, I'm constantly fearful that I will fall back into psychosis trying.
I agree with you in that you just have to stay strong. I just often wonder if I can keep it up is all.

when i was in boot camp, i would always think people were trying to poizen me. every time i would leave my canteen somewhere, when i got back and i would empty it and clean it. same with my food. i would always think people were plotting to kill me when i got out and shit. i couldn't sleep. i was paranoid af. it lasted a couple more months when i got out of boot camp too. that was last year from January all the way through June. its all gone now doe.

This I very interesting to watch. My mother was schizophrenic but never sought help. My family tried but she was aggressively adamant that her delusions were real. She thought that the government was trying to kill her and that they put an infection inside of her when my younger brother was born. She would pick at her skin obsessively and then point to those wounds and try to claim them as evidence to her claim that "the people" were hurting her. She kept the scabs and made messages out of them for her abusers. My childhood was odd to say the least. I always have wondered how different our lives would be if she had ever gotten on medication. I am not sure where she is now. I don't intend to seek her out.

Thank you for posting this video, it's comforting to see how someone else deals. The paranoia is constant, and distracting. How do you handle the everyday struggles? Are you upfront with everyone concerning your mental health, employers, co-workers, friends, etc? I personally don't share the information with anyone in my professional life for fear of stigma. If you've already posted a video about handling your mental health in public/professional environments disregard my comment, I just haven't seen it yet. Very interesting but people also need to remember that schizophrenia is sort of a blanket term, just like autism. Each individual can vary extensively, and the definition covers a very wide area of afflicted people, what affects one won't affect another.

Who says that what you see isn't real. everyone's reality is a reflection of what's in their minds anyways. you have a gift where your unconscious splatters over your reality, like a psychedelic trip. It can be a nightmare or an amazing dream. I've tripped on psychedelics many times and a lot of what youre saying is exactly what a trip is. and the one thing I've learned is life is the real trip. you should try embracing it and see what it is that's supposively "crazy". I think schizophrenia is a doorway to spiritual higher consciousness that breaks the barriers of societal thinking. and there's a lot powerful creative energy in so-called mental illnesses, that i think medication destroys.

Just a quick genuine question. when you say you only have 5 shirts are you including the one on your wall as well?

Question about the clothing topic, do you ever go through fits of heavily giving a shit about appearance only to have no results. I have this disorder and relate to the "not giving a shit" look but sometimes go through a week of wanting to wear sick shit, but get talked out of it, as a result of the voices. (obviously)

its like being stuck in a horror movie, or being haunted 24/7

I have traces of this illness. Some doctors I've been to just don't want to put a label on it. I can tell you this, everybody is different. Just because one person with this illness has some symptoms, doesn't mean its going to be the same for someone else. I don't even recall hallucinating visual or auditory like symptoms. I do however experienced paranoia but thats it. I don't even feel paranoid or anxious 24/7 nowadays. I just feel like everything is dull and grey. Maybe its just because I have traces and not having full blown like symptoms; but just because its not full blown, doesn't mean what i'm saying is false.

I've had tactile hallucinations before my paranoid schizophrenia diagnosis, it was bugs under my skin at first and then a spider like a tarantula size on my neck, and i tried swiping it off but it was as if my fingers went straight through it and I thought "It better not bite me" and then it did and i freaked out so I ran to the mirror to look for red marks because I truly felt it.

My son describes it as living in the twilight zone. My son doesnt hear voices or see things, but definitely has the delusions that everyone is trying to ruin his life, although he cant explain why anyone would want to do this to him. Question? Do you try, or have you tried switching your meds to see if one is more affective for you? Have you tried the injectable anti psychotic? It would be great if there was a med that worked as well on the negative symtoms as well as the positive symptomes.

Just a tip. Don't EVER take Ambien to go too sleep, it will make your hallucinations unimaginably worse. Just want you too know:) I wish you all the best with this illness.
