It’s hard to believe that Cantiere delle Marche are still a relatively new shipyard. In less than a decade they have dominated the market for high quality explorer yachts in the 80’ - 120’ segment, developing a reputation for outstanding quality, superb engineering, and a total commitment to customer satisfaction.
I have wanted to video one of their yachts for a long time, so when the opportunity to produce a video of the 111’ “Hyhma” presented itself I jumped at the chance, even though the yacht is not for sale at the moment.
It is impossible to tell the story of “Hyhma” though without also referencing the shipyard that built her. This video opens the window on both the yacht…and the yacht builder. Many Italian shipyards claim to achieve the same excellence as their Northern European counterparts, Cantiere delle Marche never make such claims...they just let their yachts speak on their behalf.
It would have been nice if they’d have shown the interior of the yacht, or even given some of its specs instead of just telling us over and over again how very, very “Special” this yacht is without really showing us much of anything that MAKES it so “Special”

As much as I like the styling of a Super Yacht I always come back to the Explorers when I need a fix, lol. Love them.

@@panpiper I know its because of the special condions like the higher bow, increased storage capacities, special considirations for fuel/water systems(heating and such)... All that and more kinda makes styling almost secondary.
Yeah but when I think explorer yaght I don't think wicker furniture and scatter cushions. I can't see this cruising off the coast of Iceland.

Thanks Jay, I'm hoping to produce many more like this. It's interesting to feature the builder as well as the yacht, it gives more context. I also really enjoyed the music, the production company I used for this and many of my other videos are outstanding for the way they tie the music to the video.

I love this one, just to let everyone know.Turkish Riviera, Istanbul, Bodrum, Marmaris cost they build fantastic yachts and sailboats and a more expensive super yachts ,what else can you ask for, Turkish build yachts are superb in craftsmanship and very reasonable prices, they will build one in 8,5 mouths, only $1,9 million. ask for all lacker wood work easy to clean and very durable from the salt water. they last longer Avoid sharp corners in furnishing ,slip and fall could be dangerous. definitely Volvo or MTU engines, these are the Turkish builders, Mengi-yay, Turquoise, RMK, AES, Dunya, Yachtley, Sarp. they are the best quality .
I missed the walkthrough bit though and you have to wonder is it really a explorer vessel when it's got wicker furniture and scatter cushions.

Imagine having this yacht and watching Planet Earth on board. Then after being inspired you choose the most beautiful and remote places to see. Not many of us will have this privilege but those who will are truly blessed.

A good motorcycle will take you almost as many places. You just have to go by land. I'm by no means a rich person (I'm quite poor). I'm a pharmacy technician who who pays a third of his paycheck in child support, yet I'm planning on riding the Pan-American highway from the top of Alaska to the bottom of South America, and the Transe-American trail across wilderness from the east coast of the United States to the west coast. Any good bike and a basic knowledge of engines, and you can go anywhere.

I would really like to see a more in depth tour of this yacht. I watched one by Nauti-Styles of the Allseas 92 that was 3 videos. The first two were about 30 minutes and the last was about an hour during sea trials. It was amazing to get into serious details that included everything you could think of.

I know I wanted to live on the water but videos like this over the last few months have lit a dream to live on the sea.. and it just keeps growing in my mind. Now I just want to go and never look back to land again :-) Explorer yachts are for me, the only thing that makes sense. I am not pretentious or need to "show off" to fellow rich people. I want practicality and beauty but for myself :-) These things are amazing.

The saloon, stairway, and exterior are beautiful. I would have loved to see the helm, galley, guest accommodations, and engines.
Men.. this video was dope... awesome video editing, sound scoring and the video shoot are one of the best presentation for Yatch ive ever watch.. David Seal can replace sir David Attenborough for superb presentation and narration. 👍🏻
Would've loved to see the engine room or at least have you talk about how much power, cruising range and speed the boat has.
i think they ought to give all the unemployed people , people living on benefits yachts like these to make them realise what they could all have if only they were working.
Wow, the yacht is simply a stunning work of art. I would imagine that owners of explorer yachts are onboard for a few weeks at a time, which likely means that such an owner may tend to be retired and not solely focused on running his business. Would be interesting to know more about the type of owner for given types of yachts to get a clearer picture of the businessmen whose personal desires for particular sailing experiences helps drive the yachting industry.
That or an absentee CEO who's never available

I love it. Please next time, especially on yachts of this size talk about crew requirements and what it would take to sail the yacht by yourself.

Not possible to sail this by yourself, you need a crew. Go back to your row boat.
@@zrayray3054 legally depends on what flag you fly. However, good luck getting anyone to insure this boat with out a proper crew.
I've long thought that if I were ever to buy a yacht, what I would most want is a somewhat better appointed modern analogue of Jacques Cousteau's "Calypso". I'd crew it with people able to do much the same sort of research/exploration and have them continue to use the ship for that purpose even when I was not aboard. Then I could join them at my leisure to do some real exploring when I felt the desire. It would definitely need a helipad, as I can't have the ship stop it's important work just to sail to meet me. I'd have to go to it.

I think I just fell in love... That's one tough ship with a very tender and comfortable inside - not an easy trick to pull off. Definitely a constructor to keep in mind for the future. I really like the look of the Italian yachts but this Explorer class has a look that says "I will take you anywhere and keep you safe and comfortable while doing it". I am impressed with the dampening floor and ceiling engineering. That's something you could live aboard (my plan for when I purchase).
What's her top/cruise? I suspect something around 15/10..?

I'd have to repaint the hull, but the rest of the yacht looks exquisite, right down to the beautiful dolphin sculpture.

I can't believe I have only just seen this. Thank you David for another effusive presentation, but you create problems. Which explorer yacht to do for? Damens, Cantiere delle Marche, Bering, Nordhaven, Sierena, Horizon or Bennetti, fortunately I don't have the headache as I'm not wealthy enough.
1. Why yacht can't be made from stainless steel? Expensive?
2. Why can't I change diesel onto multifuel engine? Like working on alcohol?
3. Can I use external combustion engine?
4. Can I use water jet instead of propeller?

I was hoping for a much more detailed tour of this yacht. Is there some other video of this yacht I can watch? Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this video very much. In fact it’s this video that makes me want to know more about this ship.

Do they do a yatch that is a little smaller, but still built the same with the same range ? Im juggling a very long range cruiser / trawler with the intention to live on board for years. So I want to customise it for live on but still with plenty of room in case I need to grab some paying customers every now and then. Running costs are important as no one wants to be restricted in their travel due to running costs. the amount of crew needed is also important. I envisage a mechanic pilot, and a cook / general hand along with myself and partner, and whatever guests I take on for however long. I think the running costs of cruisers 50M and above are really only for billionares. My wealth is not in that range however it is in the range of a smaller superyatch for what I want. I have little need to spend money on big houses as I said.. I really want to live full time on the ocean and just move around as the whether and the whim take me.

you really didn't tell me much about the boat itself how many cabins ,crew cabins the real bones of the ship I guess I will watch Victoria's video for that info..
it seems that yacht builders have adopted some techniques from submarine construction for noise dampening - free floating floors are a prime example.
David I love your videos. You do such an amazing job explaining and expressing the feeling of what it would be like building and living the yatch "life" . You're the best!!
