Vince, you should know Seth usually makes up names for cards anyway. The actual letters in a word and how he perceives it have a vague relationship at best
Seth avoided playing that graven cairns in his opening hand for like 5 turns to make everyone believe that he needed black mana as justification for being so ruthless. That really was the cruelest Field of Ruin ever.
PleasantKenobi Just gotta play a deck that is out to get payback on the worst 2 offenders this season: Seth and Tomer. Disrupt all of the card draw with Notion Thief, too bad leovold is banned or it’d be perfect
"Hey, Richard. Why don't snakes drink coffee? They get too viper." "Oh my God." "Keep getting better and better." "Or could you say, biter and biter." "Hiss, boo." I love you guys.
Can we just talk about the fact that seth started the game with graven cairn in hand and therefore didnt need to find a swamp to cast grenzo? Good feelings. 😂
More like, why didn't he kill Vince's snake with his Sharpshooter and nug him for 20-something? When you're playing low-to-the-ground aggro (in commander terms) you can't sit around and not attack and give people time to draw Wraths!
Scavenging Ooze doesn't interact with grenzo, The WHOLE TRIGGER RESOLVES when the trigger is resolving. It actually hurts to listen to you guys blame tomer for "Everything" You know what land would be good for the Snek deck Pendalhaven. Also Scrubland for dakkon. I also think one week you should all play ponza and get your get backs, as seth has blown up the most lands in this series.
Jason Korf the boots are so often invoked, because they were completely off theme, the strip mine into commandeer is remembered for the brutality, this is both of the most memorable moments of colander clash fused together.
Well, you did give grief for playing Lightning Greaves in a Demon Tribal/Halloween deck. So you should expect some grief for play regular nonbasic lands in your G Tribal deck, even if you had all your non land cards start with the word Goblin, lol.
You cannot interrupt Grenzo's ability as it resolves. Tomer could never use the Ooze to stop the ability. The fact that they spend so much time whining and complaining and bitching that Tomer did nothing is annoying more than anything else.
100% this. Also, even if it could have been exile as a replacement effect, Grenzo still puts the card into play. That was the most ignorant axis to attack Tomer on.
Sure, I get that, I really do. Never going to blame someone for ignorance on a weird interaction. The issue isn't with you guys not knowing how Grenzo+Ooze interacts (or doesn't interact), the issue is the salt attack on Tomer. To spend the next hour-plus whining was just dreadful. Like, watch the video, listen for how often you or Richard says "MVP for Seth is Tomer" or "Tomer gave the game away" or something to that effect. Y'all spent more time being salty about something Tomer literally had no control over than actually entertaining. And you kept doing it... Just when I thought it was done, you'd both mention something again. And again. And again. Like, imagine you were sitting in an LGS and you overheard two guys saying those things to their fourth player. Would you think that's alright? Would you think "Man, I really hope those guys are all friends..." A little salt venting is fine. Seth cheating the theme and then blowing up your bounce-land and then your plains is rude and vicious, and deserves a mountain of salt in the grandest style. Call out Tomer once or twice? Sure... Vent it out, talk a little trash, have a little fun. But Tomer not saving the table (whether he could or not) isn't something deserving the level of salt you and Richard attacked him with. The issue isn't the ignorance of the interaction. The issue is the extent of the whining and complaining and bitching.
Don't get discouraged, Vince. Merely bad luck with matchups. Love both channels and laughed more at this episode than any other, love having you on the show.
I think Vince's level of salt matched his experience this game, but he didn't go too overboard so I enjoyed everyone's interactions the most out of the games this season.
Not at all, everybody has that friend who can't help, but gets pummelled in multiplayer games. Either because they are slightly too competitive or they can't be quiet when they have something good. And of course there is going to be salt, but a likeable salt. I can't help but smile when Vince gets salty with Seth or whoever because in the end it's all fun and games. Perhaps Vince goes a little over sometimes, but overall he's not unpleasant. I mean the rest of them laugh every-time he gets salty or makes a quip, so I am not the only one who find him funny. I think it may be his wry sense of humour that you are not getting.
Fun fact: his ability even works through Leyline of the void/RIP! I play a roulette style Grenzo deck and there's lots of things about his ability that are super unique and interesting. Anyways, I'd give SPBKASO a pass for the lands, not that im on team SaffronOlive or anything ...
First half of the game: "We need a wrath, we need a wrath. Vince, please wrath." *Everyone gets saved by a decree of pain* Second half: "Vince needs to die because he has wraths."
Since Vince joined, it seems like he becomes someone's victim right out of the gate every game for no legitimate reason. Why is it that whoever plays the role of the voice of reason is the first one targeted?
Seth keldon necropolis is from invasion, you’re thinking of shivan gorge which is the worst but slightly better than necropolis EDIT: Oops, i posted this before he said what it was :p
So i really enjoy having Vince on the show so far. Everyone complaining bout his "complaining" but he brings up valid points. Huge difference between Tomer whining over everything ever and Vince (in a funny way i might add) pointing out that for example the illegal field of ruin popping his aqueduct was awful. I think he has valid points and is quite entertaining. Tomer freeing grenzo by clashing the goblin deck over the angel deck though? Ouch my soul. And geez Seths a savage! Richard is such a decent person and then Seths a sssssnake. Such a contrast. And also kinda funny that both clash and cmdr vs were showcases that even with restrictions goblins are nutty lol
Ok, after this one I can really say that Vince is incredible addition to the Team! The whole Seth-Vince banter was a highlight of this episode. And I agree - putting cards like Strip Mine or Arch of Orazca into a "G tribe" deck seems little bit disingenuous. That was way worse than spooky boots:)
I love seth complaning about his grenzo being 'stuck' when the only actual card starting with 'goblin' on the field is capable of sacrificing it to get it out from under the darksteel mutation.
Rough game for Vince. Definitely got hung out to dry, and also the victim of some suspect threat assessment. Tomer's Ooze couldn't have done anything against Grenzo anyways, so that was kind of silly. Still, the episode had some great laughs, keep up the great work!
Vince, going to use my first and last TH-cam comment ever to say that your audio quality was on point, earlier matches it was a bit loud/tinny but these settings are good. Also it's good that you bring some salt to the table, nice to see that you're spreading the love around a little bit. Tomer was pickled already, Seth and Richard can still use more seasoning.
For a deck restriction one week, you guys should build a commander deck built off your favorite modern deck. Like a whole deck built off assembling tron or trying to play death’s shadow.
Even though it doesn't get in for lethal or change the outcome Richard could attack Tomer with the morph then before blocks unmorph to get the flyer to get around sandworm convergence.
My deck choice for alphabet tribal would be Vorosh, the Hunter. V's not too bad for removal/interaction and ramp, and it has some solid ramp, though card draw is a little light. But crucially, Vorosh lets you play Villainous Wealth.
why seth and tomer keep listening to richard!!!!!! They complain about vince's wraths, but neither of them seemed to remember the first one to actually use a wrath card was richard, also, richard is in white!!! vince is mana and color screwed, yet, they kept constantly shooting at him. Also, richard was the one drawing extra cards, with a great mana base, and flyers for days.
This is the kind of dumb gameplay Jennifer prevented by ruthlessly throwing a wrench on the "Richard makes Tomer and Seth whine about things that aren't happening for an hour" train.
I was wondering if you could do the entire deck one letter, basic lands included, and it should be doable. I looked up Blue "I" spells and Red "M" spells and there were plenty to choose from. Choosing a commander is tricky, though.
When the dilluvian primordial went off, couldn't Tomer use the Scavenger Grounds to keep his enchantments as well? Not saying his play was worse, but I was looking for lines of play.
Loved the snake tribal, and can confirm, awful hands most of the game. I was really hoping when I saw the theme that Vince was going to take his garbage fire Horse tribal and turn it into an H Commander deck
I just rewatched this and realized that they try blaming seth for having lands that dont start with his letter even though at the start of the video at the very start tomer says that all non-lands have to start with your letter
Someone on this channel needs to play Ezuri, Claw of Progress. It fits all your criteria. Its in simic, known for draw. Not one of the big commander channels ( mtggoldfish, commander vs, game knights) play him despite him being a good choice
So something interesting that could have happened at the end of the game was that richard could have attacked Seth with his commander and tomer with the morph, during the declare attackers step he could have un morphed his creature and hit tomer for 12 and Seth could have pinged him for 2. If earlier seth had attacked tomer earlier in the game when he attacked all out at Richard tomer would have lost.
While I appreciate all the puns, I would have taken a different approach to "s" tribal. Sliver queen at the helm, and you get access to all selesnya ___ , simic ___, and sultai ___ as well as skyshroud claim. So you get the best ramp, and your Commander is a Mana sink.
I don't think Tomer's deck qualifies as Snake Tribal with only 11 Snakes out of 23 Creatures, Sorry Sandwurm convergence makes Wurms and Steel Helkite and others are not Snakes. This deck is about as tribal as your Moonfolk deck, lol.
My deck is designed to attack with Snakes that are pumped by my various snake lords. 4 of my key cards aren't Snakes but generate Snake tokens. I consider it Snake tribal. But really it's an excuse to make Snake puns all game :)
"Tomer uses his Moonfolk Tribal deck to punish his opponents in the name of Patron of the Moon." It's your own fault for originally pushing it as Moonfolk tribal with most of your creatures that were played weren't moonfolk, lol. However, WOTC also has the same problem, just look at their Land's Matter deck, lol.
Vince, you should know Seth usually makes up names for cards anyway. The actual letters in a word and how he perceives it have a vague relationship at best
This is my best defense.
This is old but this made me laugh so hard
It's so beautiful : D
Seth avoided playing that graven cairns in his opening hand for like 5 turns to make everyone believe that he needed black mana as justification for being so ruthless. That really was the cruelest Field of Ruin ever.
I just realised... dang is Seth savage.
The irony in that Vince's main deck is Death and Taxes and is getting denied mana ^^;
Vince (to Seth): "You're the kind of guy at FNM everyone hates"

The snake puns! Then Vince referencing Saffron as a snake cuz of that field of ruin! Great stuff gentlemen.

Eric Kaestner Boo hoo I just wanted to kill everyone’s creatures over and over.
I love seth complaning about his grenzo being 'stuck' when the only actual card starting with 'goblin' on the field is capable of sacrificing it to get it out from under the darksteel mutation.
It is quite satisfying that they gave their decklists in alphabetical order (A, D, G, S).
I love everything about this video except Seth not being on theme with lands (which might be the first time he hasn’t been on theme)

To be fair, the restriction is NON-LAND cards had to start with the proper letter, and Field of Ruin is technically a land.
;D
For a deck restriction one week, you guys should build a commander deck built off your favorite modern deck. Like a whole deck built off assembling tron or trying to play death’s shadow.
