" Based on geography"? Sure, it wasn't because of a complaint from a rich resident that lives close to the courts complaining about noise and night?

The city’s budget deficit could be solved by an across the board pay cut of 18% of every one of the city’s employees. Very simple.

    This is just the start.
Basketball Courts, playgrounds, and dog parks are next.

Wait, tax money funded the creation of the courts, now they city wants to charge the same people to use the courts? Here is an idea, the city should just build a few more courts with existing tax dollars to fulfill resident need. Also, why is pickleball being targeted and not the busy basketball courts who also wait to get onto the court (i.e. "next" shout outs)? We know why, there is a target on a certain demographic that isn't deemed oppressed. Lets just be real.

Screw them. Get in your car and drive to another city to play.

  • @ecor150

Well... These people are rich enough to pay $100 to use the court every time, especially those pickelball players, so I really don't understand the complaints. You're either a bum or rich if you're living in SF and no bum is playing these two sports. So yeah the fee should stand and it should be higher. Them complaining is like Bill Gates complaining about not having money to buy a happy meal.

Ramping up the fees - state gov’t budget crunch.

It’s a good idea that will decrease no-shows at these courts! I’m glad they decided just to have the fee on courts in the fancy parts of town.
Ideally, the fee would be based on someone’s income, but that’s harder to implement…

Well that's what happens when you price out the middle class and try to turn sf into rich people land. This is what sf deserves.
