- The airbag warning light coming on on the Volvo V50 (and most likely similar Volvos) seems to be a common problem, Here in the UK an airbag warning is an automatic MOT (roadworthiness test) failure. My fault happened after I had suffered an alternator failure and ran the car with a low battery. This seems to be common, such is the fragility of newer cars loaded with ECUs.
Thankfully. I found the good people at Crashdata, here in the UK (they have a website, you fill in an online form prior to posting them your ECU.) For a very reasonable charge, they work their magic and clear the ECU of the fault. And, no I haven't been sponsored to do this video.
Also low battery can cause this issue to as we sent our module off to crash date ltd just received the unit back with in 24 hrs was impressed they left a note on the module saying make sure battery is fully charged and working to spec as error is caused by low battery supply

That's still an MOT fail - no lights on the dash upon start up and your rev counter isn't working either. Looks like the whole dash is dead?
Did you disconnect the battery before removing the module?

When you put it back together did the srs light stay off I noticed you had no lights on dash but you need to plug back the electrical connector on floating dash. I got an identical srs module for my s40 and lights and warning still on

What's the voltage of bad Alternator and new one I have same problem, but I don't know if I should buy new before I send the module for repair
How do i know if my alternator is faulty ??I have also light on SRS-CFFF ??
Thanks mate I've just had the exact same issue with my s40 changed alternator and battery and I have the srs warning light hade two garages diagnose it and its looking like srs module is my fault too

Had to send srs module away to get reprogramed its fine now

if you put back at least the waterfall console your dash will work and show errors😁
There were no lights on because the radio was not attached 1.28 in.
I promise you, after the car was put back together the airbag light was off. As on Nov 2019, it's still off.

@Stuart I I have same problem, alternator down, now its fixed but srs msg on dash still on, do you know if I can start my car and use it without srs unit for few days??
Yes u can as we had to sent ours off for repair and used the car to do over 200 miles with no issue with the module taken out

What I done I replaced the airbag sensor module and the old DTC s not coming back but the code you have is coming now
What I know about CAN BUS is that is the network between all the modules
@@nsdautocentresdartford4384 Hi, the whole problem is the airbag control unit. You need to install the same block (the code and number of the working block must be the same as on the broken one). After installation, I lost all errors. Good luck.

If so I did this and after is coming another fault : CAN signal configuration fault
Before was another code CFFF
We have this as the only fail on mot ...so annoying
Yes, it's an MOT failure in the UK, That's why I had to get it fixed.

It's been replaced the airbag sensor module and after that this code came
Before to replace the module was different DTC :E001 control module communication faulty communication
And
CFFF CONTROL MODULE INTERNAL FAULT
