  • Greetings Kindred, tonight we listen to the opening moments of the rekindling of the Anarch Revolt. Theo Bell will rouse the blood of those dejected and abused by the Ivory Tower and we will learn the powers of Potence together.

    I think the "you only underestimate our strength once" quote is more appropriate for the Nosferatu, than the Brujah. After all, if you see a muscled up, leather wearing, shotgun toting gangster out on the streets at night, you're probably going to assume they can kick your ass. But how many people stop to think that the lanky, skulking, internet perverts who almost never come out of the basement would be able to rip your arms off and beat you to death with them?

      @VoivodeMekhet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can see where you're coming from with this but I don't think that Theo was talking about their physical strength. He was talking to the Anarchs not the Brujah. I'm pretty sure he was talking about the strength of the Anarch movement, their organization. He punctuated it with a show of physical strenth.

    I know this is an older video and I may not get any replies, BUT(!) the way using Disciplines work now (quite a few Rouse checks) means Hunger will stack up quickly, esp in combat. Brutal Feed is practically a requirement as you cycle Blood in and out as Hunger rises and wanes. Looks like the Ivory Tower licks better protect their precious nightclubs all the better! The Sabbat will now probably view nightclubs as a PRIMARY target, with the vast amount of kine readily at hand for quick consumption in a fight.
    Also: "Draught" is pronounced "Draft" (like "beer on draft"). This is a uniquely UK spelling of the word "draft" that is still in use, but rarely in the US

    Abotu Uncann Grip: combine Silent of Death with Unseen Passage and it will work, I believe, as long as you don’t shatter a window.
    About Draught of Might: have you noticed that you technically can not enhance the Draught powers? It allows the receiver to get half the level of the donor’s discipline. The Problem is, it is rounded down. Being at level four, this power already gives the receiver level two, but it will never improve to 3, since at level 5, rounded down, it remains 2. I think that this power was in earlier versions of the game either a level 3 power but they had nothing else for level four, or it has to be rounded up to make sense. Not entirely sure how I will deal with that if it ever gets relevant to my table, currently no one has a Draught power.

      I think that if it comes up as an issue in my game we'll just round up.

    I don't like the Draughts, because I'm unclear on how the hell Ghouls work in V5. It was my understanding the benefits to having a Ghoul was they were a supernatural servant who could do things the vampire couldn't. Such as operating in the day, or posing as a human. But these Draughts make it sound like Ghouls are just regular fucking humans, until their masters become powerful enough to unlock level 4 Potence, Celerity or Fortitude. And even then, their powers only last a single night? Am I understanding that correctly, or what?

    • @VoivodeMekhet
      @VoivodeMekhet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ghouls in v5 are a pretty interesting creature.
      Ghouls are fleshed out in the v5 Companion (free on the World of Darkness website)
      Ghouls start with 1 level 1 Discipline of their master and can buy additional level 1 powers at 10pts each. The disciplines need to belong to powers possessed by the master but they don't have to be the same ones the masters have. The only way to increase these powers are through the use of Draughts.
      You can also use draughts on non-ghouls and on other Kindred.
      So they have some uses.

    • @Nyrufa
      @Nyrufa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VoivodeMekhet So in other words, Ghouls can learn 1st level powers normally (though with increased cost), but they need a Draught to learn the higher levels? Also, I've been told that Ghouls are no longer immortal in 5th edition. The vitae they drink only slows their aging, rather than halts it. Another change I hate, as it effectively ruins any incentive for why somebody would actually want to become a long term ghoul.

    Potence? Yes yes yes but with both auspex and celerity i can literally anticipate and counter your fists, be carefull stupid Brujah Power is not the only way to win...look at Lasombra clan, control the battlefield is the true power. Nosferatu use Potence discipline much better indeed.

    Old system is better. A character with 1 str + 0 brawl and 5 potence will never win a fight vs a character with 5 dice pool and zero potence. Makes no sense.

    • @VoivodeMekhet
      @VoivodeMekhet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess that just all depends on how the character is build. Most of that all seems to just go on the details. A good ST partnership with the players could easily play a 1 str + 0 brawl (5 potence) character as shit in a fight that breaks everything they didn't mean to. Not sure why a character like that would be built but it does sound like an interesting player driven storyline. I'll admit that potence is not my favorite discipline in v5 but I do enjoy the descriptive nature of the powers better than in older versions.

    • @Nyrufa
      @Nyrufa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, in the old system, Potence only increased your Strength score by 1 point each, until you got to the 6th dot level powers. Having 5 dots in any category was considered to be the pinnacle of what ordinary humans were capable of achieving. For example, if you had 5 dots in Strength, Dexterity or Stamina, your physical conditioning in regards to that area was on the level of an Olympic athlete. But having power doesn't mean much, if you don't know how to properly control it. So yeah, the first character might be strong as hell with their 6 dots in Strength (1 + Potence), but all they're really doing is flailing their limbs around, while their weaker opponent draws upon years of experience and training to bring them down.
