Love your review and suggestions. Haven't thought about Pirates of Dark Water for AGES!! I have a bunch of ideas for Kraken week, but most are from my 1st ed homebrew campaign, not 5th ed. One other nautical concept I always though was cool were the sea-faring giants from the chronicles of Thomas Covenant. Especially from the second trilogy.
You get a thumbs up if for nothing else than knowing about Pirates of Darkwater. I was awash with 90’s nostalgia.
