      malaihiboi can't you get sashimi out of any fish?

    • @malaihiboi
      @malaihiboi 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DiddlieWinks Technically I suppose, but never heard of it and I'm born and raised in Hawaii. Guess the older generations had so much good fish that they never really used parrotfish for sashimi as it's not as good as ahi etc... it's less fatty and a reef fish the feeds on seaweed off the reef and shits sand lol. It's great for the fire and frying, a flaky fish, just never tried it sashimi style, which I just may try the next time. This was interesting to watch.

    • @alinelaura7714
      @alinelaura7714 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      DiddlieWinks You can, but not every sashimi out of every fish will taste good. Some people might like it but overall tastes better some other way.

    I love the fact that the chef stopped to throw a peace sign after cutting'up the fish lol. But that fried fish, the crispy, flaky texture makes me want fish even more.

    Here in New Zealand we have banded wrasse a similar species and very sweet cooked.Hadn't thought of trying as a raw fish.Must try with several raw fish methods,ie marinated in lemon juice then into sour creme and coconut cream and another way is how polynesians would've eaten during sea voyages... dipped in sea water then into the mouth.

    • @TheMissnoelle
      @TheMissnoelle 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Fabian Velasquez It should have no taste, because the fish has to be very fresh. The taste comes from the vinegar in the rice. But the texture is amazing. You should try it, is amazing!!

    how many gals. of water need for sashimi?

    • @eludethis
      @eludethis 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      nut that water is re purified and then recycled. Unlike in America where it just goes down the drain and into the sewer system to be dumped into a river.

    • @theepicpeguin
      @theepicpeguin 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      eludethis and pumped into a water purifier and put back into the city. don't hate if you don't know mate

    • @eludethis
      @eludethis 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Azael Gomez yeah sure buddy. American's cities along the Mississippi dump right into the river. That river goes straight into the ocean.

    • @eludethis
      @eludethis 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Azael Gomez yes there are treatment plants that breakdown the waste and attempt to kill all the bacteria. But these plants are so old and are in need of updates. Studies have shown not all the bad bacteria is killed by the time it gets to the Gulf of Mexico.

    • @theepicpeguin
      @theepicpeguin 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      eludethis most rivers lead to the ocean, pal. The city has man made reservoirs just for that purpose.

    this comment may annoy you but actually eating parrot fish really cause environment effect. 1. parrot fish meat taste awful, not as good as snapper or cod. 2. we cant breed them, it grows and have food chain in reef area. if we consume them too much, reef will die as well as other living things there. you can just eat other fish and have a good diving trip right? or you expect to dive and see dead reef.

      snowflakes 98 if you do the research, due to unlimited fishing, their sea is not crowded with fish anymore include whales and dolphin killing feast. and they do import fish cost $ 500M each year. do you think it's ok to do fishery for fish we cant breed? because ignorant people think like you cause animals extinction.
