    Wonderful lesson my dearest!
    Schwa is really the ultimate secret of British English!
    On that note, Anna, have you ever realised that:
    Schwa, in fact /ə/ is somehow the laziest sound there is: it demands the least of speakers; The schwa just is, serene and undemanding: The vibration of air through the body to the outside world. Basically, the Essence of speech itself! ...
    Thank you Anna, you are an extraôôdinary teacher!
    😘🌹❤

    I'm new to the English language, and when I wanted to learn the language, I started watching movies and series... I noticed that the British accent is wonderful.. I have a question: Is the accent on the channel a dialect that I can speak all over the world?👍🏻

    In Catalan we have the SCHWA sound. It's our neutral vowel. It doesn't exist in Spanish. It's une advantage that we have in order to learn to pronounce and listen English.

    I stopped watching this great video after the schwa bit, yeah, I know and insist on the v sound in the word "of" and I know but don't insist on the schwa sound for the o with my students because they're young (11-15), sometimes I do though, for them to start being aware of the "phenomenon" 😂 I always insist on the schwa sound at the end of all the words ending with er, or, al, el.

    I adore the British accent. However, I'm American , I'm*not* an actress, and English is my first language... I'm wondering if it's considered rude to learn to speak with a British accent instead. I'm not trying to convince anyone that I'm from England or anything; I just want to speak properly, more often

    *ENGLISH accent.
    If it was a Scottish accent, you'd call it a Scottish accent.
    If it was a Welsh accent, you'd call it a Welsh accent.
    So when it's an English accent, why do you call it a "British accent"?

      @@Enigma_surf13 It's not a "British accent". There is no such thing as a British accent. That's like saying "North American accent". It's an English accent, end of discussion.

  • @elmsyrup
    @elmsyrup 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

    But there is no such thing as a British accent. There are several English accents, several Welsh accents, several Scottish accents, and several Irish accents. I know you say this in the video, but this title really annoys me.
