When V8 started to show up, i immediately fell in love. That sound is so dangerous & inspiring at the same time.
Damn, the fact that a team has to run up to the V8 after the burnouts really goes to show how the engineers pushed to the very limit, to the point where the engine will just overheat and set on fire if it suddenly stops

I expected everyone in the comments to just sh&t on Formula E's lack of sound, but wow. There seems to be a a little war here. Love both at their own aspects btw.
Regarding the sounds. Formula E is slightly more fair to the drivers as all cars are almost technically the same. Meaning any driver can be the champion of the season regardless of the team you're in. Formula 1 in the other hand is more fun to watch not just because of speed, but also the tenser battles between the top drivers and the middle drivers.

Noise-wise I of course prefer the FE. I’d take a silent dentist drill over an obnoxiously loud horn having a stroke any time!! But I understand the loudness gets the crowd going more and is more exciting. Something so loud gets the adrenaline going.

Both FE & F1 cars can be much faster like v12 etc. But their performance is capped especially in FE. FE cars are designed to be more practical and efficient. Then just show off & create sound, air pollution. FE is the future of innovation and technology. F1 is mostly entertainment. Both have their places in racing.

I like f1's sound but i think the formula e design looks cooler and more futuristic
Drive a M3P as a daily, but on the racetrack, i want to hear roaring engines. Formula E is not exciting enough, at least in person.
Please don't do this. They are both distinct entities that should be judged on their absolute merits. No way they can be compared because the technicals and performance parameters and metrics are distinctly and fundamentally different. Like comparing apples with oranges.

My question is why can’t FE get motors like Tesla uses? They clearly exist, and imagine how fast an FE car would be with a Plaid drive unit
Because a plaid comes with 1000 kgs of battery to power those drive motors. Gen3 FE car theoretically can chuck out 600kw but it's more the size of battery you need to last an entire race with that amount of power that is the problem.

Es un f1 v8 de mediados de los 2000, los nuevos Formula 1 son híbridos v6 con aerodinámicas mucho más complejas que los formula e.
Las personas piensan que todo es ruido y velocidad dejando a un lado la Fórmula E pero se les olvidad que es una categoría que recién empieza y a su tiempo también evolucionará así como lo hizo la Fórmula 1.

The F1 car does not have proper cooling systems to cut on the weight they depend on fast-moving air to cool the engine so if the car is not moving against the air it heats up. F1 cars literally burn up just by idling

However with an ICE if you wanna go blisteringly fast it sucks at going anything that isn't blisteringly fast. That's why all those new electric hyper cars have 2000 hp, to get an ice to do that I would have to be massive or boosted to death. Electric drive is more soothed to a broader range, ia 2000hp hyper Car that is still drivable in the small streets and heat of Monaco.

Great video! Kinda embarrassing for the F1 car that 4 people have to step in to hold it from lighting up though and it not even being able to nail the donuts right. FE is 100% class with 0 effort.
So many children in the comments crying about "sound".... As a musician I'm offended 😅 That's just constant fart noises, which are cool, but not when it's ear-deafeningly needlessly loud like that... There's a line where EVERY type of sound just becomes a nuisance, and ICE have crossed that line from the start. @@mateokovac2642 Synthetic fuels still cause lung cancer from air pollution directly from the tailpipe. Every now and again race tracks have strict noise pollution standards and a lot have been closing. I think EV race cars could save such tracks.
