I spent several hours today glued to my screen watching your tutorials. As with all of your videos, you are an absolute boss and I couldn’t have found a better mentor. Respect.
This was the first demonstration that actually made sense to my completely novice brain. I'm not even familiar with the hardware, but your presentation made it look so uncomplicated! "Oh, that's what those buttons are for! That's what those knobs do! Got it!! This isn't so bad after all." You have a gift for teaching. Thank you! Subscribed!!
Best DJ mashup lesson on the internet, thank you!! And I've been searching for THREE days!! You're knowledgeable, articulate, passionate, and have good taste
Wow...this lesson was sooo good, I have a basic pioneer DDJ400 with record box so a little different but concept is the same. So many functions I am yet to use but able to do basic mixing, now keen to do some mashups. Thanks - Maree
Iv Watched a few beginner Dj videos. And this is the first one Iv watched all the way through, been entertained and learnt something. Some are so serious and boring. Keep em coming.
I have learned some fun stuff from watching your videos not everything I can do but I know the possibilities are there. I just have to get over this learning plateau I have been in for some time now.
Fantastic Phil.... a multi talented and knowledgable guy, I’ve had my decks for 1 day and have been glued to your beginner lessons and am learning so much and the way you explain stuff 👍👍 just awesome man!
Or you could utilise the deck your using and keep the tracks synced, then loop the drop track on 2 or 4 beats and simply move the cross fader to when the beat on the other track enters its drop
Hey Phil, I know you must be a busy guy but would you mind doing a vid on how to use different filters properly? I'm just getting started on all this so I've no idea how to use any of them properly and I know theres got to be a million ways. I'm listening to other DJ's and I know they don't use them alot but I'm looking to have some techniques in mind.
This is way out of just helping me to learn to be DJ. Awesome! And yes preparation and practice is a must. And what I feel most is we have to mix it by "feel it" not just technic. Thanks Bro for the lesson. Help me a lot.
great advice, i hope they paying attention, i been djjing for over 8 years and Listen and take notes all the time, i enjoyed your talk on organizing crates
You are awesome. These videos rock. Perfect for people longing to master their own decks. Next - to find a beginner controller that won't break the bank. Any recs, Phil?
first example... why would you need impeccable timing? just beatmatch a few bars of the buildup then crossfade on the drop (be prepared to know when to start the beatmatch)
There are many ways to DJ, but the main thing is you just need to learn the basics like beat matching and setting cue points, know your tracks, know your decks and get creative. Hi Phil Harris do you know how to use the sample banks on the DDJ SX2 ? Another good way to make mash ups! Love your work keep on going ;*)
Dude, as you just picked the song by backstreet boys an ad started playing. It was the doritos ad with chance the rapper singing that way by back street boys. I'm spooked
