Nathaniel is an interesting character. He was in the Free Marches during the Blight and had no idea what kind of a monster that his father was. When Delilah told Nathaniel about their father’s evil and what he did, it shocked him that his own father destroyed the family name. In one of the epilogues, Nathaniel does work to rebuild his family’s name.
"what happened to the Couslands was horrible. The entire war was." Excuse me, your father had my 8-10 year old nephew killed! Still pissed you can't bring up Oren
I love the dialogue "do you want grey wardena who want you dead?" My male city elf who is in a relationship with Zevran. "I mean... thats how i met my partner...besides you haven't actively tries to kill me."
I did go the Rite of Conscription route the first time I played Awakening. Later playthroughs I let him go only to let him join of his own volition after.
I remember a rather tasty bit of talking with Rendon Howe in Origins. Before fighting him, he kept antagonizing my female noble warden. Who would later become Queen. She made him a rather chilling promise to end his house, the way he had tried to end hers. By going after his wife and son. Then Howe commented cynically on the monster he had created but how she was only just a beginner in that regard. I thought of that dialogue as I ordered the hanging of Nathaniel on the imported save. I like the man actually, but you know ... it felt just right in that case. Just as it felt right to have murdered Howe's confederates/cowed them into submission. I would have liked the opportunity to go all the way by going after Delilah and relatives. I like to imagine that all this was taken care of after Awakening, when she returned to court at Alistair's side to rule.
@@federicomachado811 I'm not and I'm not trying to be. This character basically is Cersei Lannister. Without the incestuous bits, and a bit more brain.
There’s quite a lot of people who wished he was romancable. I remember the old Bioware forums people wanted him as a companion for the later games and to be romancable to boot.

In one epilogue, he saves Teyrn Fergus Cousland (your brother) from bandits
I'm glad we do get to show Nathaniel how horrible his father truly was
Nathaniel: Do you even remember my father?
Me, playing as Warden Brosca: Uhhhhhhhhhhh *Looks up another video* Oh THAT guy, YEAH!

yeah its one of the most disgusting thing in the game
Or punch him in the face when he says the Couslands were gonna sell out Ferelden to Orlais so his father was justified.
I wanted an option to punch him in the face when he said the Couslands were gonna sell Fereldan out to Orlais.

Nathaniel Howe? Now you’re Nathaniel Why?
Nathaniel is the son
Is it wrong that I kinda wanted him as a romance option in this game?
