YES! Love the sound of a radial, but yet Nothing has the sound of a Rolls V12 cursing at altitude, never mind when the throttle gets pushed forward on the deck! I was around early enough that WWII planes still flew semi regularly!

As a child in the Early 70's A friends Dad built a smaller version for a bi plane, and another Family friend who was also a real pilot built four 4 in a remote controlled B17 that Just Fit canted sideways in his two car garage! at age 10 I WAS IMPRESSED! all from scratch.
Beautiful engine, beautiful workmanship, beautiful music, ....but heck, ....I would never rely on cheapo 'G' clamps to hold the engine down, ...I have had similar clamps let go on me several times in the past. ...but thanks for sharing a great video just the same...!

The "Old Saying" in any motor sport shop! Is "if you have to ask", you can't afford it. The 2nd old "saying Is" Speed Costs SON, How FAST do You Want to GO?

@@jimandskittum early Buick V8’s we’re called “nail valve” engines for their small diameter valves compared to the other competing ( Ford, Chevy, etc.) V8 ‘s but they made equal or more power and were lighter than their competitors. Unfortunately Buick was not supported by the hot rod industry and the nail valve faded into obscurity as many other “ weird” engines such as the Saab 2 stroke.

You must start with single cylinder engine, learn the basics of thermodynamics on combustion engines through trial and error and move on from there.

For 5 cylinder radials is a two lobe cam. CNC machined.

Why everyone avoid showing cam and gear arrangment for valves. Also the lubrication system with no sump.
Please check coments bellow for lubrication. Camplate and gears are shown clearly if you can recognise them.

Oil is stored in the camplate department. Then i send 5ml per hour to the big end bearing through the crankshaft using the gears of the cam reduction.
It looked like you used brass valve guides, I consider tphis a design flaw. Mabe I am wrong.
Not brass. Bronze. And it is the last thing that will wear out...

Do you think so? They have 0.5 seats and i have a good seal after lapping them. What do you think is right?
