I discovered Tales Under The Oak in 2021 while recovering from a two week coma. The music & artwork seemed to perfectly align with the whole NDE of failing organs, two cardiacs & life support, and the creatures I had met on my "journey". Dear Simon Heath & Tales Under The Oak: I really like this album. I have listened to a few of Dungeon Synth music over a few months now and I find it very interesting with respect to the lush gentle sounds of a certain nature that I must explore. It is not the Dark Ambient sounds in which I'm used to. Instead, I hear something else. I played this album twice already and each time I listened to it, it speaks to me with a different tone. A long time ago I had to fight against my depression and the world (how it felt) and from then on I start listening to chill/dub etc and at some point the algorithm gave me some dark psy/chill stuff and I heard this kind of music. This also helped me process a lot of things because it felt like a kind of sphere of understanding and processing. You were simply picked up and cheered up by this realm. That's the short version and I enjoy every moment of such songs. Mystical and magical and simply beautiful.
Have been playing this almost the whole week on repeat and I still don't know what i forgot! But i knew i loved it and will keep playing this one till i know what it is :D Keep you posted.
There's a mix in this same channel called Goblin War that's pretty good, most of the tracks in that mix are by Mountain Realm, I think their stuff is top notch too.

@@surlyunicorn9461 your welcome; I am also kinda a newcomer to the Dungeon Synth genre but I have been most fascinated by it for a couple of years now, thankfully there are channels like this to promote new artists in the genre and others like The Dungeon Synth Archives that besides posting recent stuff have also an immense catalog of albums from the early 90s onwards including pioneers of the genre like Burzum, Jim Kirkwood, Depressive Silence, etc.
Oof this hits different. Sounds a bit like early mortiis sounds (if someone knows this madman) but much much better. Love it. Great work, definitely want more ! 🙏
