@@sameerakannamkotte69 Because Hinduism in itself isn't a religion and the Dharma, faith or way of life as they call it goes back by some estimates 8000 to 12000 years and has been influenced by all the pre-historic non-abrahmic culture, faiths and ways of lives that existed and were later ruined by the organised Abrahmic cults and wars and other natural calamities. Even Indians have not been able to keep their true tradition and knowledge of past intact. It's there in bits and pieces only but still they are closest to their ancient roots.

@@iamyou8994 I respectively disagree with you. Sanatanism was the faith of the Indo-Aryan people group which was in it's origin Monotheistic. Later this Indian regional faith became Polytheistic overtime.
Then Zartosht or Zoroaster appears where is understands that the Aryan faith system is being ruined by the Indo-Aryan stock as a result the Devas in Sanatanism became Evil gods in Zartosht's ideology & Ahura/Asuras became Evil gods in Sanatanism ideology. Still we see Zoroastrianism projects Dualistic of deputized polytheistic tendency as stated by Nora Elizabeth Mary Boyce, the renowned British intellectual of Zoroastrianism.
Hence Abraham from the Semitic stock enters the battle field. Remember fair skinned Aryans are Japhetic people so Allah/Ellai/Elohim rightfully said that the Sons of Japhetics will be in forefront of civilization & ideological advancements of Human race still they will be devoid of the original spirit of their Creator. Thus the seeds of Abraham a.k.a Isaac & Ishmael progenitions are given the duty firmly establish Allah's original way on earth among humans.
12,000 year old Sanatanism and 3,400 year old Zoroastrianism does not de-legitimize or question marks Abrahamic faith systems, but it actually adds more feathers of truth & blessings to the fact that Allah did actually sent messengers among all racial people of the earth; but for some reason they dislodged themselves from the true path thus needing the Semitic stock to bring them back.

I wonder if the named Angels of Judaism (and later Christianity and Islam) entered from the Babylonian culture(s).
The Torah (the first five books of the Old Testament) was written after the Jews returned from the Babylonian captivity (6th century BC). There is no angel named in these five books. The first time an angel is named in the Old Testament is Daniel 8:16 - 'Gabriel' - which is an alternative spelling of Çibrayil. The book of Daniel may have been written around the fourth century BC.
I would be very interested in knowing the etymology of each of the names of the seven angels of Yazidi faith.

Hello!,I absolutely love to see that our religion is known to others despite our low numbers and I really thank you for making this awesome video. As an Ezidi/Yazidi I would like to put some points to make things less confusing:
1-Ezidism is called Ezidism not Yazidism the word Yazidi came after what the Arabs called us and Ezid means God Ezidi means worshipper of God.
2-Ezidism was not called Ezidism nor Yazidism it was called Dasni, and the Arabic caliphate has described kurds living in north Mesopotamia resisting them by the name Dasni, which later changed their name officially to Ezidi that can be seen in the rebellion done by Jafar Dasni and the الداسنية as described by Arabs meaning they already had a king and a system working, this debunks the idea of Ezidism being made by Adi Ibn Musafir and or Yazid Ibn Muawia.
3-While marriage is not allowed between castes it is believed some are from Godly blood which is similar to those ancient Mesopotamian believes
4-And finally the writing was not forbidden,it was in fact forced on the royal class and was optional to the rest due to high persecution and the kurdish language of the Ezidis it lead to them being isolated. Thanks and I hope you get a bigger channel in the future❤❤

one question is why did Muslims and Christian consider them devil worshippers if there is an idea within some sufi circles that Satan was one of the pure monotheist, that he loved God so much that he refuses to bow down in front of anyone?

    • @LetsTalkReligion
      @LetsTalkReligion  4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

I wanted to add this point to the video. The Yazidi view of Melek Taus as a hero for refusing to bow to Adam is as you say a rather common view among some Sufis regarding Iblis. It makes sense if you consider the idea that Yazidism (at least post-middle ages) stems from a Sufi order, so the idea probably comes directly from there.
I chose to leave this out of the video as it could be interpreted to confirm the idea that Melek Taus is equivalent to the devil, and as it is a very complicated and nuanced subject I didn't want to cause any more confusion.
To answer your question, this idea among the Sufis was also highly criticized by some other Muslims (and I assume Christians too). In the case of the Yazidis I think it's been used more as a justification for social and political anxieties to highlight their "otherness", which made it more controversial than when Sufis claimed basically the same thing. I think another difference could be that Melek Taus is a point of reverence much more than Iblis is in Sufi circles, even if they hold this view.
So whereas those Sufis are seen as "Muslims who have a wacky idea about Iblis" the Yazidis give him a much more important role as a point of semi-worship, which would be more controversial.

As a Hindu, I can relate. Adi in Sanskrit means ancient. So Sheikh Adi, or the ancient learned, is like Adi Shankaracharya. Adviya must be derived from Advait, which means there is only one supreme that resides in everything. Yezidis worship fire, have a caste system that has become rigid over time, has a significant place for gurus or the learned people. They also worship Peacock, which is associated with Lord Murugan. Lord Murugan is the God, and his most beloved servant is the Peacock. There is no concept of conversion in Hinduism. . You can follow any god or be an atheist, but you still remain a Hindu. Similarly, ancient Hindu knowledge was not written but passed on from one generation to another generation through voice. But in a much more organized way. So many relations with Hinduism cannot be coincidental. Just like the Roma community in some parts of Europe find their roots in India and still maintain some level of culture, I am sure Yazidis are another branch of Hinduism. One of their religious leaders had been to India and prayed in Lord Murugan temple.

I find strange resonances with Sanatan Dharma.
    The points of commonalities are:
    1. Centrality of Fire in worship and passing of religious scriptures not through the writings but through vocal renderings. This is the basis of the Vedas for which they were called Shruti.
    2. Worship of Sun (and not Moon as in Islam)
    3. Praying facing East to salute the rising of Sun signalling the natural order of waking up to action.
    4. The distinct presence of godly beings (Devatas) lesser to the Supreme Consciousness (ParaBrahman as in Hindu)
    5. Peacock is linked mythologically with Indra. It's feather features prominently as the ornament of headgear of Krishna.
It was the state emblem of the Mauryan Dynasty (hence the name)
    6. Reincarnation of soul and predominance of Karma with the goal to achieve a state of devoid of the baggage of Karma to derive Moksha is the summation of Hindu faith.
    7. The name of Adi is very common to both Hindu and Jainism. It means the ancient source. E.g. Adi Shankaracharya, Adinath.
    8. Yazidi sounds more like Azadi, the community which remained free from the pressures of conversion that is so very evident.
    9. And whoa! did I hear correctly that the tenets of the Yazidi religion is collectively called Addawiyya, the Sufi Order. Or is it just a morphed way of saying Advaita.
    10. Caste system and the prohibition regarding intermarriage reminds much of the Gotra system of Hindus.
I have merely found the uncanny similarities. They need not be true. But neither can we rubbish so many coincidences.

Muslims don't worship the moon or any other creature. They are strict monotheistic. They worship the one and only Creator of everything.

    • @SirVonn
      @SirVonn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@benaissa9684 I am very thankful to you that you have given me such a praiseworthy title of being a pagan.
It may be unworthy according to your religious ideology and of the Islamic people. But, your monotheism is again very reprehensible to me and my religious beliefs that seeks to find the breath of God in every atom and every object of Nature that is accessible through the 5 senses and discernable through the 6th sense of Yogic Union.
The only difference between the religious ideology of both of us is that I am not at all worried how and to whom and which mode you and your ilk prefer to approach spirituality while the Muslim religion is worried sick why we don't prefer to approach spirituality through the eyes of your prophet and his interpretation of spirituality as written in your one and only Book. The extent of your worries are so congenital that your prophet has actually laid down rules of torture and decapitation of people like us who are worshipping God through Nature and idols and natural objects. We are Kaffir for you. You are nuisance for us.
The sort of irksome nuisance that finds drilling holes in ancient gigantic sculptures of Buddha in Bamiyan of Afghanistan to be highly religious so that those beautiful things could be blasted off with dynamite. And then you would shout and dance with glee Kalashnikovs in hand all smiling with the thought that possibly your Allah has reserved some place in his Heaven for such destructive tribes to enjoy copulation with 72 female angels or Hoors.
Noh!! Please spare me and my pagan friends from such savagery and tribal behaviour.
Also don't say Muslims don't worship anything that is born from Nature.
Ask any devout Muslim what do you aspire?
The answer would be to go to the pilgrimage of Haj.
And what do you do when you are finally at the Haj.
You take a walk around the big black stone called the Kaaba.
      Now, that is also idolatry.
When you keep a picture of the Kaaba with lines from the scriptures of yours and kneel before it, that is also idolatry.
When you don't break the fasting of the Ramadan period unless the Moon is visible that evening, that is also idolatry and paganism.
If Muslims don't really worship the Moon then why is this Moon so prevalent in every symbolic structure of Islam? Why are every Muslim flag having the symbol of Moon and the evening star?
Just that it is your form of paganism and that is appreciated by all of us. No harm in doing so. Just don't act Holier than thou.

      Wow you wrote an essay!!!
      1. If you are not woory about Islam don't spread lies about it.
      2. If you don't know history don't talk about it. The Pagans were the ones who start fighting the prophet and tortured Muslims. And Muslims defended themselves. After migrating and having their own city.
      3. There is no law in Islam to force or harm anyone to convert. There is no cempultion in religion. It stated clearly in the Quran.
      4. If Muslims were forcing anyone we wouldn't have until this day 10% of Egypt Christians. And almost 50% Lebanese. Jews lived among us for hundreds of years and Zoroastrians still exist in Iran.
      5. If it was the cas. Pagans in your country. I suppose India. Would've been exterminated.
      6. Again more lies. You find no excuse just to bring Terrorism. If Islam was like that. The whole Earth would've been gone.
      7. Terrorists are small minority responsible for their own act.
      8. Islam reached Irak, Egypt and Afganistan in the first 15 years after the death of the prophet. In a time of the 2nd Calif, were most of the companions of the prophet were alive.
      9. If it was the destruction of Statues or other thing from Islam. Nothing would have been left since 1400 years ago.
      10. Does it make you a Watch worshiper if you see the time to do something!!? Fasting have a specific time. That's it.
      11. Kaaba is a mosque in itself. People used to pray inside it. Then it was left and a larger mosque was built around it. As a temple. No Muslim worship or pray to the Kaaba.
If you are not really woory or bothered by Islam, why are you forcing yourself to make lies about Islam!!!!?
I don't care about your paganism, I don't need to make any lie about it. You can worship rats and monkeys if you want.
In one hand you see the attribute of paganism as praiseworthy, in the other hand you try your best to force it by lies upon others !!!!! Is it a controversy!!!!
Keep your paganism for yourself, we are Monotheists. We worship only the Creator.
If being pagans is good keep it for yourself. You don't need to lie about Islam to make it more praiseworthy whith your paganism!!!!! Unless it's just wishful thinking of yours, so you feel more comfortable in your skin !!!

      3. So, why do you need to tell lies about Islam !!?
_ Did ever any Muslim told you that he worship the moon !!? NO
_ Does Muslims have any text telling them to worship the moon!!!? NO
      - Did ever any Muslim told you that he worship the Kaaba!!!? Even a child!! NO
      - Is there any religious text telling Muslims to worship the Kaaba!!? NO.
      -
The Quran state clearly that To God belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn you are facing God. The Kaaba is just a unified direction and a sacred place.
If someone has an issue with himself or his religion, it doesn't fix that issue that he lies to himself and pretend that everyone else have the same issue.
If you have a problem worshiping rocks, trees,.. or any creature don't lie to yourself that everyone is doing the same thing. It won't fix anything. Everyone is accountable for himself and no others.

Just wanting to know your view.
Only if you know what I mean.

@@abc_cba @abc abc i am not a religious scholar neither i know very much about Islam, its great personalities and great events. If i give my opinion and its wrong you may develop a wrong perception about shia muslims which i really don't want.
You should ask a shia scholar about that he can give you an answer that is both credible and right. 🙂
