I'm 72 years old, I was sitting in my recliner watching this video. I strained so hard helping you push that blade up, I think I pulled a couple of muscles.
Lol, I'm 73, also in my recliner. I was helping too! 😅
72. I was twisting really hard trying to push
71; I was wondering why they aren’t using a floor jack.
I don't think they could've done it with out us geezers helping.@@Captain-Max
I’m 72 also. We always took the shredder off the tractor and we had 2 chain hoists and we would stand it up and work on it standing up and never had to get under it. Before I saw that they were hooked up to their chain hoist I was sitting in my recliner and screaming get out from under that thing before it falls on you. 😅
Rule: Never rely on one source to secure that much weight. Always use additional ground supports as well. Our machinery weighted as much as 20 tons and when disassembly for repair sections could weight 400 to 800 pounds. We lost one of our field mechanics due to a chain that should have held it, but in manufacturing of the chain, there was one bad link. I'll leave the rest up to your imagination.
When I worked in a quarry years ago, we kept a pile of railroad ties and half-length ties just for cases like this. Crisscross stacks for safety stops in case hydraulics failed or chains/cables popped.
I have one of those and as I recall the manual says to put jack stands under it before working underneath.
Thanks for showing the hoist - I had missed that and was concerned for Grant! :) x
Laura, you are loved by thousands of people primarily your subscribers. I am one of them, and I am glad and proud to be on your channel as a subscriber.
Time for an upgrade. Nice job getting this one fixed up.
Merry Christmas guys! Thanks for the smiles.
A pleasure stopping in for a visit. Thanks for having me. I hope the weather is kind to you.
Merry Christmas. Enjoy your videos.
Nice watching your Mechanic simulator for a few episodes.
You two are an amazing young couple! I'm glad you're living your best TH-cam life & experiencing so much at such a tender, young age. Live it to the fullest!
Merry Christmas to you and Grant and your Families
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!! Thanks Laura!
There is always something to fix, clean, maintain, plant, even in the 'off season'. It is never ending.
Thank you for taking us along.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Merry Christmas to all of you
Happy Holidays to you all. Enjoy your wrenching and can't wait for your tradein and new equipment.
Almost always something new to learn about watching you guys! Funsville! Dream work makes the team work!😊
Thanks for sharing!
You too kids are so talented and get along so well.
Great to see you 3 working together.
Always a pleasure watching. Looks like you need a couple of floor jacks, to nearly place the blade. Spring dreamin'! Looking forward to your 2024 plans!
Hi all from Ontario Canada Merry Christmas to you and your family
And, I'd be interested in a Laura Farms t-shirt, but I prefer a photography-landscape view.
Maybe one of those gorgeous farm sunsets; or, corn drying in early morning yawn; or, late night farming drone view!
Look forward to seeing your line expand.
Merry Christmas, Laura, Grant, and Gauge.
Happy Holidays Grant and Laura, be safe nice work Nebraska farmers, always something to fix on a farm.
I love the hard work that you and Grant do. You probably know this living in Nebraska, but they do make a synthetic grease. it will last longer on your gears, and is more effective in cold temperatures. ❤ Love you mean it.
A green Christmas forecast for my location, Ottawa, Canada. Always nice to take in a Laura & Grant post. Merry Christmas.
I found myself holding my breath helping you get that mower blade attached. Glad to have helped! ;-)
Myself!! 🙂
God Jul & Gott Nytt År
It's always satisfying to get a back burner project done. I am finishing up one that I kept attempting off and on for over a year and finally figured it out.
Been there, done that. Best thing is to lift the mower up on edge.
Don't have to work upside down then... that is really helpful if you are doing it by yourself.
Good call supporting the mower with the chain. Murphys law requires it😊
All that rain looks beautiful. I love it.
Merry Christmas to you and your families.
Thanks for showing more shop work
Thank you Grant, Laura and Gage once again. Use what you have on hand to accomplish the task of never ending farm work!!! Ans thanks again for helping us to see that not all young people are afraid of hard work!!!
That was a Heavy Bugger!!
Thanks For The Post Laura!!
Hope You And Your Entire Family Has A Very Merry Christmas!!
Keep Smiling On!!
😀👍👊❤️
Merry Christmas to you and Grant! Christmas will be different this year, but focus on the good memories and not the loss.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Merry Christmas thank you for farming God Bless all of you.🎄 🎅
Hope you and your families have a very Merry Christmas!!!
Just wanted to wish you, Grant, Justin, and your whole Families, a Blessed and Merry Christmas.
Really enjoy you adventure on the farm. In fact I am learning stuff I never knew!
Merry Christmas from Texas. Thank you for a wonderful viewing year
Hi Laura, I have been watching your videos since you first started posting on YT. I have enjoyed each and every one of them and watching you grow as a person and farmer. You are such an intelligent, creative, hard-working woman I have ever seen, and you have enlightened so many people on Nebraska farming and everyday living on a large farm. I would like to wish you and Grant and both of your families a very Merry Christmas and I hope your granddad is having a lovely Christmas in Heaven with God.
Your video brought back a memory of doing the same repair on a John Deere brush hog at work. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you guys .
Put Jack stands under that deck please !
I wish you wouldn’t get under a load like that without blocking it up first.
Merry Christmas Laura, Grant, Pepper and Gage 🎄🎁
I'm wishing you Grant and your families a happy Christmas.
Merry Christmas and happy new year, always loved your videos from the start many thanks.
Whew! I think a Harbor Freght transmission jack would be a good purchase for that!
Thanks for putting out great series of videos.. You, Gage and Grant make a great team... Always keepin it real. The beautiful plains of Nebraska and your farmland are in great shape. Come on out to Eastern North Carolina where farming is a main stay as well!
Good afternoon Sunshine! It's great to see you and Grant again. It's been raining here for two days also. I'm glad you got everything rebuilt and reassembled without any injuries. Wishing you, Grant, Gage and your respective families a very Merry Christmas as you gather to celebrate and honor His birth. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
You can do anything you put your heart to.. you also need a jack to keep parts up while you wait. :) for the bolts to get put in. - nice work..
one of those transmission jacks if no thing else... or ''someplace to start the search'' ?? :) just a thought...
Thats what floor jacks our used for, jack it place. Grant you can roll it in place also lower the chainfall on it. 😊
Happy to see a video I know in winter not a lot going on but I like your videos.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Laura, not forgetting Pepper and any littles one you still have.
I love to see Gauge involved in the shop work. The skills learned here in the shop from those with years of experience is worth more than years in the classroom. Not that classroom time isn’t important, but hands on always reinforces the classroom/books. Also, I would have tried a floorjack with some wood blocking to help lift up that blade assembly. Thanks for another great video and Merry Christmas to y’all and your families.
I Love this Woman. She is very natural ❤❤❤
Looking good on the box blade rebuild. Just one suggestion. When you want to heat metal, use the proper tip. You was using the cutting tip, not the rosebud.
Such great stewards of equipment and land. Ty for the video
Good job guys! Merry Christmas to all y'all
Missed seeing your videos; Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Say hey to the hired hand too!!! He’s a good man.
I TOTALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO LAURA AND GRANT 😊
Good job! I hope that you can trade it in for what you want. A very good rainy day project.
Great job for a rainy day
Merry Christmas to you Laura and Grant...with it having the smaller PTO connection...
Its made for a smaller tractor.,you've got more power with your tractor then you need...that is why it went out........
Any way have a Merry Christmas ...still keeping your whole family in my prayers...and thoughts to find the peace you all need...finding things to do around a farm never ends...i know ...
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you and Grant and the whole family you have a great hired helper there Merry Christmas and happy new year to him also God Bless you and your family looking forward to the upcoming planting videos
Shop work goes so much better with a smile and a laugh and of course more help
Merry Christmas to you and Grant, from the western Sandhills’s of Nebraska
I am 68 ,I would have sand blasted rust, new paint job and cheaper than replacing,.good job guys
Hope the kids have a Merry Christmas. A floor jack would be a nice for those under heavy installs.
That's good you got it fixed. 😊
I got my fendt 1053 vario back from the mechanic yesterday.
Have a nice Christmas 🎄🎁
Merry Christmas to you Laura, Grant, Gage and all of your families, have a wonderful Christmas holiday.
Its nice to see that you are planting trees, in 10years they will hopefully be big enough to break the wind and beautify your farm yard. Probably a good call trading in that old bush hog it looks like it has seen better days! Blessings & Merry Christmas to all of you in Nebraska!
Wishing u and your family a merry Christmas and happy new year
Nice video guys and a nice fix on the mower. Merry Christmas to you and your family
A slow steady rain is VERY good for the ground in the fields! Not so much for the ground on the roads and drive yards.
A slow steady rain allows the water to penetrate the soil without runoff, erosion and washout. But it creates a soggy, muddy “mess” in the top layers of the ground. And the longer the drizzle rain persists, the deeper the soft mud gets. To the point that roads can become impassable to anything but “animal” locomotion.
Enjoy the nice and wonderful [off-season] farming weather.
Merry Christmas Laura, Grant, & Gage! More skiing videos! Today is the 1st day of winter so the days get longer from here on....Planting season is right around the corner!❤❤❤😂
It is always awkward working on your back, it is hard trying to get the fitting started at the same time.
Happy Christmas to you all, love from Mike. ❤ 🌲
Thanks for sharing 🙏, Merry Christmas to all.
Merry Christmas to you and your family
That actually looked like fun, i miss working on equipment like that.
I’m listening to my beautiful granddaughter talk about how it’s all done…and then realizing you actually know what you’re talking about! Holy cow, you have learned and retained more info in the last 5 years than I did in 12 years at school! 😮
Tiny Farmer, you are amazing 🤩 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Watching your video, I can't believe the amount of likes hitting as video plays.......great video
Merry Christmas to all.🎄🎅

Laura farms status of the men on the job and their individual abilities.
You need to get some hats like the one Grant is wearing, that'd be a big seller!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all
permit me to make a suggestion if you ever need to do that again ,don't have the topper on the tractor get your telehandler and lift the machine vertical wheels to the top and sit it back down on the headstock from my experience you will find lifting the blade disk on much easier . Merry Christmas hope you have a wonderful time Laura and Grant
HAPPY Holidays to you and Grant. Good to see Gage. Always enjoy your videos. God bless
Thank you for farming.
