In this video, I walk you through how to make the Mini French Square, how to make the same square with a heart inside, how to join the squares on one side and two sides without having to sew them, and how to make the border for the blanket as well.

That is an adorable square. I have no desire to make a temperature blanket, but I do want to make a solid color or pastel colored blanket for my bed. This would be beautiful for that purpose.

My oldest daughter is a lefty, too! I taught her when she was 3 and she just switched hands to her preferred (left) hand and took off from there 😆 I think that's a great idea, doing a wedding present for a friend! I'm sure they'll love it!

I never even considered dark green! Great idea, I'll consider it! I was intimidated by the idea of sewing too. I'm always looking for ways to avoid it so I figured, why not just join as I go? Lol last year was the first year I successfully completed a temperature blanket because of how easy it is!
You did it so fast that I could not keep up I've been crocheting for a long time but my hands don't work as fast anymore because I'm getting old LOL if you can you going to have to go slower for me to catch on if you don't mind it's a very beautiful pattern
TH-cam has a playback speed setting, you can slow the video! But if that doesn't work or if there's something specifically confusing, I'd be glad to help!

Joining 4 squares is not a problem . Then I get lost after the4 squares
When I work this blanket, I work a row of 16 squares. I make the regular square, then 15 squares using a one-sided join before starting the next row of squares. The first square of the next row is also done with a one-sided join, and then all the subsequent 15 squares of the row are worked with a two-sided join. Not sure if that really helps or not as I don't fully understand where you're lost but that's how I work these blankets :)
@@forgoodnesskeepsakes that what I would do. I get lost after joining the first four and how to join the subquent squares. I think if I join right to left iam good. The what I call the endless join I can't wrap my brain around it. It is easier for me to join the first row and join the second row etc.

Yes, I'm sorry, I do tend to go too fast. My brain is squirrely and I almost have a natural tendency to rush. Slowing down is hard for me 😅 TH-cam does have playback speed options so you can slow it down! The tutorials on my IG and TT are probably a touch slower.

I use them for special days. This year, I have two, one for the day I got baptized and another for me and my husband's 10 year wedding anniversary 😊
If I wanted to do high/low per day how would you suggest dividing the rows for each square? I really love this square design, it's very pretty!
i would probably do the 1st row one color and row 2&3 your second color 😊

I have a question on what you do for the border of the blanket. Do you use one other colour from the blanket or a different colour. I was thinking of making the border colour with the corresponding square beside it.
You could! I'm probably going to make it a different color but here it is end of November and I still haven't picked a border color 🙃
I'm going to give this a try. For a lefty I'm thinking the starting square that you mark would end up at top right and not top left. Any thoughts?
My daughter is actually making one and she's a lefty! The sequence of squares are the same, she works each row of squares left to right, but how she joins looks backwards. She does a 1 sided join from bottom to top instead of top to bottom and a 2 sided join from the bottom, up, and to the right rather than i do starting from top working left then down. I hope that makes sense but I can make a video to show you if necessary 😊
