This is the style of this haircut is not to have a “perfect” fade and have the texture on the sides! It was effective way to do the haircut and I loved the technique on top! The bald fade on the nape was pristine and I loved the texture of the heavy temporal transition to the top!!

Nice cut. These barbers have great knowledge of the trade. Where did they learn and train up. I Can imagine this barber shop requires a heavy cv to be part of the crew.
I am cutting hair as a hobby. I'm not going to cut in a shop or professionally but I have become pretty good at it, so much that most of my friends come to me but my clippers and scissors are pretty damn cheap and the scissors don't cut straigt but push the hair while cutting. So my question is since I cut even my own hair every two weeks and not every day for hours on end like a barber shop would, what clipper and what pair of scissors would any of you recommend to buy if it could only be one?? It has to be affordable though. I was thinking of buying the wahl 5 stars clipper but I don't know any good scissors. PLEASE HELP. Thanks guys.

Either Wahl Senior or Magic Clip and you can find good scissors online but can be pretty expensive but most of the (good) equipment is expensive

gerv55 Skin fades and very short fades seem like overwhelming popular for the brits. I’m in NY and seeing skin fades is rare unless someone has a flat top military haircut.

It's the trend and if it fades then it's called a fade. I think i get what you're getting at though. High, mid, low crews, Cesars etc. Seems to be gone and it's just lumped into fade now. Maybe for the best... seems like alot of stylists were confused on what the variations were and what made them different so people would often walk in, ask for a cut by name and get the wrong cut.
Pompadour.. fade.. what's the difference? This shaven necked, ultra sculpted, tight pants look has been going on for waay too long now. It's obviously good for barbers because you have a cut that needs to be re-done every couple of weeks but where has the spirit of individuality gone these days? I remember the 70's..the punk days, people would cut their own hair.. they didn't give a fuck. Look at it now.. you've got two styles on offer.. get a fade or grow it really long and do a top knot and beards are mandatory.
I prefer the undercut. Fades seem to be dying.
