What I find amazing is the color of your CRX (orange-red) looks exactly like the color of my old one/parts car. It's interesting that two different people colored their CRX's the same. Or maybe the same person owned both yours and mine at some point and just loved that color. Painting style nearly matches as well, just sprayed haphazardly and on the trim pieces as well.
I believe some people liked the OEM maroon color found on them originally I actually really like this color. I'd like to get outside and paint the moldings back to black and try to chip the rest of the paint off of the bumper moldings too.
@@GarageBuiltHondas For the 10 years I had the orange one the only thing that ever threatened to take the orange paint off the trim was a good pressure washer. Sure a screwdriver or putty knife would have done the trick but back then it was still new to me and I didn't want it to get too scratched up. Check this out, I collected a bunch of images of it and my most recent, '91 CRX HF, as you'll see my worries about it getting scratched up were all for nought: crx.serosis.net/
Sadly I still haven't got the issue of the factory defective adjustment knob resolved after 2 weeks of emailing back and forth between someone with broken English from China. Took almost a week to finally get someone to respond. Beware ppl, customer service is almost non existent if you are unlucky enough to need it. That being said, Ive had mine on for a little more than 3 weeks and I really like them otherwise. I changed the preload and set it to basically zero bc their preload was completely different in each coilover. Also running nearly a 3 finger gap with a couple clicks away from full stiff... On 3 out of 4 corners at least 🤣
Well, you've convinced me lol. I'm getting me a set! Next is a 5speed swap (not about that automatic life) but cleanest EF I've seen in years so I had too. Mpfi and 5speed swap then turbo it and I'll be happy... For now hahaha

This is the worst coil overs I've ever used ...Have them on my subaru legacy B4....Its a nightmare.....Dont buy this for daily driven....to me its for the track (smooth surfaces) or light weight cars
I have to say this. Honda’s are very universal with suspension. The reason being is they use multi link suspension on the front and sometimes on the rear. The factory springs rates are pretty high. So these Chinese coilovers will be ok for now on a Honda.. but if I put it on my gc8 wrx, they would be absolutely awful. I’ve been in cars with these coilovers. Yeah if you’re a tight ass buy these Chinese coilovers but if you really love the feel of going around corners, spend a bit extra. It’s worth it. Trust me. You’ll love every time you get in and out of the car
These are great for Honda's...so far. I can't stress it enough and I'm always mentioning that I want to see if they last. The price justifies it when you're buying a Honda for 1k or so.
Awesome footage, I just ordered a set a few moments ago for my Rx8,supposedly the new set they have are better in quality seals and fluids,I hope so, I had to order since the previous coilovers the rear left showing signs of leakage the whole bottom half is covered in oil. (besides that it looks like it’s a different way to adjust height on it, doesn’t have that bottom collar ,I think to adjust it you got to take off bottom of coilover too spin it ,, odd because I never saw that style) and since I got the car I always felt like the car was leaning a little to the back left then I saw the tire was having way more wear than the other three, I was so close to getting the Godspeed ones but damn I rather pay less than half in stone that has more good than bad news.
Some are decent.. I had GODSPEED on my last Civic EJ1 and they were great. Not expensive and not cheap junk. They gave an excellent ride, and had adjustable damper.
Got a set of these coming for my Accord. Mainly because I just went from some cheapo 15's to a fresh set of 5 spoke 18's and I want to close up the fender gap.
Good job on the video and good advice. I installed similar Rev9 coilovers and I love them. I did a video on my channel of the install and will be making a review video soon, I've already started shooting the raw footage. @

excellent fair review, iv had teins, bc racing coilovers, meister R's and these, for street use they are great, soft as stock when u want them to and stiffer when you fancy the odd raceday. i also think they could use a stiffer spring for the track but for daily and street use they work really well, very much like a set of meister coilovers. and did anyone mention how damn cheap they are haha ,i paid 120 delivered >
Just ordered a set for my '92 Celica ST. I just put bigger brakes off a Camry on it. How it stops with authority. I have a 3SGE Turbo VVTI & 5 speed that I need to install. Now i have a 1.6 4AFE & Automatic. I only paid $300.00 for the car and it runs great, but is sorely lacking in the power department. I would love to get the parts to make it AWD.
I recently bought Mostplus brand adjustable coilovers for my '96 corolla they came out to $295.54 the stock suspension (still installed) on my corolla feels sketchy cause its bouncy & specifically the rear driver side strut, it needs replacement asap but its my daily so I don't want it stiff as a rock or too soft so I basically want the perfect balance of stiffness & softness so the ride quality is smooth

I do recommend. I cannot comment on lifespan though. I'm going to make another video on these sometime around Thanksgiving. Our last track event is the weekend before Thanksgiving then I'd like to take the coils off and see if any are leaking and how they have felt throughout the course of the season.
These are a lot stiffer. The old setup wasn't low enough for me and I personally don't like lowering springs because I like being able to set my own ride height.
Jon, great review on these coilovers. I always wonder how they were. And the camera in the finder well, that was a great idea. I will have to try these out just to see on my daily. I have 2 EG’s, but I’m a Honda guy for life. Any possibility you will do clips in the future on an EG? Keep up the good work with the Rex. It’s looking good. 👍🏽
Thanks David. I'm not really an EG guy but you probably knew that. I'm just a huge fan of the EF's. I highly doubt I'd get one but if I did it'd have to be a coupe. My wife wants a Del Sol one day so maybe that'll pop up first. Appreciate the support my man!!
I've got a set of these on my 4th gen ("EF") sedan and I'm not really happy with how they ride on the streets to be honest, super stiff and bouncy regardless of damping setting. Also two of the shocks were leaking out of the box and one had no fluid left in it so I had to pay to get two new bodies sent. I'm sure for track use they are fine but unless you live somewhere with super smooth roads I'd hesitate to recommend them for road use.
Great video of exactly what i need the coilovers for Honda civic DX 1988 3door Hatchback DPFI 1.5l 1493cc. My rear lower control arm is OEM eye type but the coilovers are fork type, I think if i but the alloy control arms with bush will work.. Your input will be of great help.
Yes, you'll need lower arms for the fork style coils. You can get cheap aftermarket ones for like $50-100. You can buy these coils by searching for the ones that fit 92-95 Civic. Those work perfectly.
Wanna get a set for my daily rsx, just worried if they will last through the winter. I saw a review of them braking on someone but im sure they were full sending their car… thoughts on if i should go with this or teins?
I went D2 RS. After a lot of trial and error over the years with "ebay parts" I learned that generally you get what you pay for. Post up after some extended use, I'd be interested to see the long term performance.
Absolutely! I'll be making a video in November after the last track event and checking to see if any are leaking. Through 3 track events they are a-ok!
@garagebuilthondas 4:38 your not supposed to make height adjustments like that ! The spring is prefixed from the manufacture at a default setting . Your supposed to spin the shaft to make adjustments hope it’s still holding up .
You're not looking closely enough. The perches are locked against one another. When you do that, you can now crank it and raise/lower the entire assembly without affecting preload of the spring.
my question is how do they ride weight wise I want to put them on my daily but I like me the heavier set females so how is this Guna ride when I got a 300 pound passenger ?
Hello, Great Videos, they have helped me so much with just replacing parts on my CRX and Even watched your 07 Accord Brakes video. I really enjoyed this content, I'm new to building a 88crx awd (s-1built all d way baby) and this video have me sold on these coil overs so much goes into a build and when u don't know this is great!

@@justinl8886 just ordered a set for my E46. Thanks
i already bought them from Ebay, but thanks for the gift
Thanks
Garage Built Hondas do you have the link for the same color ones you got?
I have them on my miata and my EF hatch.Good for a budgit suspension I just order stiffer springs for them ,with a little over 6k miles still feel good.
Thanks for the feedback John.
These seem great for being a budget coilover you can’t beat that price for the adjustability that you have especially if your a new driver learning to adjust suspension
Am on the process to change all the shocks on my Ef hatch, am on budget and this coil overs looks good, my ef is a daily so i hope to this aren’t feeling to bumpy , cause the streets on country are a little bit “shi***”, thanks for the excellent review and help for the community bro ! Greetings from Honduras 🇭🇳
Greetings buddy! They are a pretty decent set for the price!

CRXs are like big go carts. I loved my 88, if it hadn’t been such a rust bucket I’d still have it.
Would you reccomend if it were in better condition? I dont know much about Subaru as a brand
Logan Enlow CRX was made by Honda. I have Subies, and love them.
I hope they take care of you!
Well, you've convinced me lol. I'm getting me a set! Next is a 5speed swap (not about that automatic life) but cleanest EF I've seen in years so I had too. Mpfi and 5speed swap then turbo it and I'll be happy... For now hahaha

I just came across your channel today. Great videos. Great reviews. I'm a huge fan of the EF and HF platforms, they're are becoming more and more rare and it's a shame. I'm glad to see others share the same respect for these old school beauties. Keep it up.

Just stumbled across your channel. You got my sub. Keep up the good work. Its dope to see you and your dad bonding over cars and spending some quality time at the track.
I got my coilovers installed on my '96 corolla today
huge ass difference lol
just wish my city had a race track

@@GarageBuiltHondas my corolla only has 105hp (which is really slow) & if my city had a race track, I would test them out anyway & see how my car performs on coilovers
You should...we have a few 100hp older Hondas that race at our track. They're still fun to drive.
Those are probably the cheapest coilovers I've ever seen lol
I was expecting $400 but $250?!? God damn! lol
No kidding! I hadn't really searched for "budget" coilovers before until this company approached me! I dig em so far!
@@GarageBuiltHondas how are they holding up honestly? (update)

Those ones you had are for a ek9 96-00 civic is why there bigger single cam cause it looks the same as mine on strut fork with AL

Awesome vid man, clean install and stance. Love the track footage
Awesome footage, I just ordered a set a few moments ago for my Rx8,supposedly the new set they have are better in quality seals and fluids,I hope so,
I had to order since the previous coilovers the rear left showing signs of leakage the whole bottom half is covered in oil.
(besides that it looks like it’s a different way to adjust height on it, doesn’t have that bottom collar ,I think to adjust it you got to take off bottom of coilover too spin it ,, odd because I never saw that style)
and since I got the car I always felt like the car was leaning a little to the back left then I saw the tire was having way more wear than the other three,
I was so close to getting the Godspeed ones but damn I rather pay less than half in stone that has more good than bad news.
Some are decent.. I had GODSPEED on my last Civic EJ1 and they were great. Not expensive and not cheap junk. They gave an excellent ride, and had adjustable damper.
I agree. I've seen some solid Megan ones also.
nothing like some max peeding rods am I right ladies
Hahahaha
The ladies love them the men and lesbians are jealous of them except the gays they also love them
Damn
Got a set of these coming for my Accord. Mainly because I just went from some cheapo 15's to a fresh set of 5 spoke 18's and I want to close up the fender gap.
👍
I have those same coilovers on my 8th gen civic and they are great 👍 in my opinion.. they do the job and the price is reasonable
Thanks for the input💪
Good job on the video and good advice. I installed similar Rev9 coilovers and I love them. I did a video on my channel of the install and will be making a review video soon, I've already started shooting the raw footage. @
Nice!
I bought these same ones for my prelude, lowers the fronts maybe a quarter of an inch but that’s all, love how they ride though. wish they’d go lower is the only thing.
This set can go pretty low on this car. Not sure why yours is set up different.
Garage Built Hondas Dont know man, hardly lowered it at all but i can put the muffler on the ground for the tears
thank you for such a great review. this helps me out on trying to find a nice coilover for my daily eg8

@@Alexander-we6ub bruh please don't! Those shits literally were clunking out of the box wore my suspension the front don't lower like the back do and when I put stock struts the right side sat higher even before stock struts so the stock strut brand wasn't the problem

Fantastic video brother, I know I just commented on another video lol. But love the knowledge you showed and the camera angles. Love the copper pearl color of the crx. Very clean
Thanks man!! I don't mind comments one bit, I encourage them!!
excellent fair review, iv had teins, bc racing coilovers, meister R's and these, for street use they are great, soft as stock when u want them to and stiffer when you fancy the odd raceday. i also think they could use a stiffer spring for the track but for daily and street use they work really well, very much like a set of meister coilovers. and did anyone mention how damn cheap they are haha ,i paid 120 delivered >
Agree completely!
From where? I see them for 200 on ebay. Thinking of getting some for my 240sx. So they are worth it for daily street and lowering use?
Came here to find out if I should buy the suspension for my civic. Ended up just listening to that sweet vtec. So should I buy them or not
Up to you man. Can you afford a better brand?
I know its been 4 years sooo what do you think? How was your experience? How long did it last?
I only used for about 2 years. They did well before I sold them and upgraded. I never used them for daily driving though. They were just tracked on
Just ordered a set for my '92 Celica ST.
Nice, those Celicas are really cool. I've always liked them
What is the disk diameter on Camry , and is it bolt on?
Literally just fell asleep to this music! 😍

I recently bought Mostplus brand adjustable coilovers for my '96 corolla
they came out to $295.54
the stock suspension (still installed) on my corolla feels sketchy cause its bouncy & specifically the rear driver side strut, it needs replacement asap
but its my daily so I don't want it stiff as a rock or too soft so I basically want the perfect balance of stiffness & softness so the ride quality is smooth
very nice video, you did a great job testing the coil overs and having the split screen to see the way they rected was very nice to see.

I was just about to order agx and springs and boots. About 420ish. I'll have to check this out. Putting together a super cheap track car
I've had a good experience with them so far. I hope they don't leak anytime soon.
You could make that dent above right rear wheel 90% better by putting your hand inside the trunk and pushing out on it. Try it!
I'll give it a shot!!
Ok you may not want to believe me but im saying the truth:
Im 13 and my dad bought an 800€ opel Kadett c 2 door sedan 1974. It was and is my favourite car and he "gave it to me". I have been saving up my allowance for months and i want to lower the car and add bbs rs wheels. I think it will look good. This video is very helpful

Zero issues!
@@GarageBuiltHondas thanks
thinking of getting these for my ek hatch .. plan on keeping the car as a daily for another year or so.., just for stance purposes.... would you recommend so far??? PLEASE do an update video in the near future- not many people do! thanks
I do recommend. I cannot comment on lifespan though. I'm going to make another video on these sometime around Thanksgiving. Our last track event is the weekend before Thanksgiving then I'd like to take the coils off and see if any are leaking and how they have felt throughout the course of the season.
Both rears are leaking on mine with less than 1k miles, don't do it lol
I wonder what the deal was with yours. Sucks you got a terrible set.
How do these coilovers ride compared to what you previously had on the car the truhart struts and what I think was tein lowering springs?
These are a lot stiffer. The old setup wasn't low enough for me and I personally don't like lowering springs because I like being able to set my own ride height.
Great video man, well done!!
just done use them in a wet country, the rust up real quick here in the uk. had them on my lexus, within a month i couldnt adjust them anymore
Ouch. That's terrible.
These coilovers or koni shocks with eibach springs for track driving?
Koni, but with coilovers. Then you can pick some spring rates of your preference.
Looks good brother those coilovers were the ones i was looking at.
Nice man! For the lancer?
Yes i was looking for some i believe i showed it to you!

I can’t seem to find coil overs on that webpage Max Peed for EF sedan. The only thing I have found are for EGs and EKs??? With the EG EK ones fit????
Eg are what you need. That's what I'm using
@@GarageBuiltHondas sweet man! Thanks a lot!
Use code GBH to save 8% off. 👍
Thanks for the input. I'm going to try a set on my EF sedan soon too. Maybe it'll feel the same, hoping it doesn't.
@@GarageBuiltHondas Thanks man,i appreciate....

Wanna get a set for my daily rsx, just worried if they will last through the winter. I saw a review of them braking on someone but im sure they were full sending their car… thoughts on if i should go with this or teins?
Get Tein
When you do that, you can now crank it and raise/lower the entire assembly without affecting preload of the spring.
these were actually on my last miata when i got it, they were pretty shot and had cut springs so i cant really comment on how good they were lol
Lol
my question is how do they ride weight wise I want to put them on my daily but I like me the heavier set females so how is this Guna ride when I got a 300 pound passenger ?
Hello, Great Videos, they have helped me so much with just replacing parts on my CRX and Even watched your 07 Accord Brakes video. I purchased these coil overs for my CRX, any recommendation for removing the top Nuts on Rears? I cannot get a socket in there and all I can think of doing is removing the plastics to expose the top of the shock more. I am sure their is an easier way than removing that. Thanks.
Long socket will work with a 3/8" ratchet. That's what I do.
Thanks Jon, through test and review, Cheers Greg from New Zealand

I think for daily these are great. A ton of people have used them and have had good results for daily use.
