The clip is from the film “Bury my heart at wounded knee” the characters were real but the conversation is not. But it clearly shows two narratives of two peoples.
    But what do you think?
Do you agree more with Colonel Miles? Agree more with Sitting Bull or maybe you think they both make good points

      They are both right.

Miles was at least mostly correct. This idea that the red tribes lived in harmony with nature and spent their days jet skiing and basket weaving flies in the face of *actual* historical record.

What Colonel Miles says is mostly true. The Lakota Sioux tribe moved from Minnesota into the Black Hills and stole the land which was stolen several times by previous tribes.
Just like the American Southwest was once stolen from the natives by Spain and then conquered by the Mexicans in a war, the US won the land in a war after Mexicans invited Anglos into Texas and then attacked them after they became affluent by raising cattle.

As a Native American myself I can weigh in. Literally everywhere in the world there were people killing other people for personal gain and not getting along, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the americas long before the 1700s, the 1600s, long before the 1000s, Aztec natives sacrificed slaves of tribes they conquered. The white man has his point and states as much that his fight is not Nobel and out of greed and lust, same as the natives have in the past, we all have a history of war, and unless we acknowledge that we will repeat the past with our future. @@MrClean-ep7uc well considering that history tells us that most of the worlds intelligence was located in Europe and Asia, it would only seem logical that those continents would have the people that would build ships and seek out a foreign land for their own use. Throughout history the weak fall to the mightier, be it man or animals. And, yes, man may have brought animals to new areas where they may kill animals that had no defense to the new animal. But, that's just evolution. All breeds of man around the world have all been here the same amount of time. Some progressed and some stayed barbaric. Each breed chose their lifestyle. If one didnt like the other, for whatever reason, usually religion, then they were taken out. Like it or not it's just the way things have always been. I spent the last 40 minutes, after reading your post, and I have found no less than 10 articles in which it states that the Indians fought each other prior to the Europeans arriving.
The evidence of this is confirmed in archeological digs, something that oral history cannot refute.
Instead of buying into the BS, why don’t you educate yourself and read. It’s called confirmation bias when you only look up information that suits your narrative.
Aboriginals fought each other long before Europeans ever arrived and I dare say this movie was brave enough to point that out instead of risking it be “cancelled” because peoples feelings get hurt.

Some believe the natives migrated across a land bridge before spreading out. So it’s not theirs they just showed up.
We bought half our country from the French. So it wasn’t really taken.
And to be fair we gave them reservations to govern as they see fit and also the freedom to enjoy the rest of the country.

This is a fact all trough history, and not at all less today. Always when a war is about, to whos gain? When a plague is about, to whos benefit? Just because you’re more advanced than another land doesn’t give you the right to take all there stuff for your own gain and enslave the people. The big difference is that Native Americans did not conquer an existing population and take their land from them; their ancestors crossed the Bering Land Bridge into two uninhabited continents, somewhere between 13,000 and 35,700 years ago. So they were here first and were here alone for thousands of years.
Also, using the fact that they warred as well as some sort of blanket absolution justifies any and all wars of aggression as simply "might makes right." Is that really what everyone believes? We're also leaving out the fact that for decades the US did more than wage a war of conquest - it waged a war of genocide.
