Ok Guys, You can't compare yourself to her, she has been drawing bor years and some of you are just beginners!!! Don't get frusterated and quit, just keep up the work!!
Well, you really need just one pencil to shade, it depends on how hard you press. The harder you press, the darker and dominant the colour is, the softer you press, the lighter and less dominant the colour is, but people just like to get tons of pencils to get the right shades.
I've watched this video before but I watched it again and I honestly have to thank you. Most of the time when you see artists drawing eyes they use all these fancy markers and pens and stuff, just seeing that you made something so beautiful only using basic utensils brings me hope. Thank you, again!
I'm not much of a cartoon artist, but when I do draw cartoons I would normally leave them black and white. I don't usually color my drawings in since I draw more realistically and I think it looks better in black and white. Your drawings look AMAZING in color though! 😄
The right eye is WAY TOO SMALL. Just kidding! Lol! Thanks for the video! I am totally going to get the primsacolor colored pencils now that I have a reason to use them.
Ikr i was able to draw eyes and colour them a lot better, also i looked at how many subs she has and i thought:why doesn't this amazing girl have 3mil+ subs???She is so amazing thank you balee
Annac039 AJ They are relatively affordable, they are competitively priced to other mid end pencils like Tombow Irojiten, Spectrum Noir, or Fantasia and seem like a bargain if you compare them to higher end pencils like Caran d'Ache Luminance.
Annac039 AJ I wish you family luck through you troubles and hardships. You can always use whatever mediums you want. If your having fun doing what you love then so be it. I used crayola color pencils and sharpies until probably my senior year in high school. Didn't buy any nicer pencils until probably my second year in college. If youre passionate about art then save up a dollar here and there and if there is a Micaels in your area uses a coupon to get them 20% off.
It's a very specific style where there's a large highlight at the bottom. It's strange that I did the tutorial that way since I don't even colour my eyes that way. Well, it's probably because I never draw the face that close up.
You're so talented!! Thanks to you my eyes will turn out better than before!! Actually showing yourself coloring the whole time was a real help too, I always need visual examples for stuff like this!!
Thanks! I wasn't going for a 3D effect though. Those eyes are 2 separate eyes, not eyes from the same face. If it was the same face, the perspective would be way off.
Most artists ARE self taught. Even people who go to school for art have to develop the skills on their own. The only thing a teacher can give you is facts or tips and tricks, not experience. Some people catch on quicker than others because they truly understand that they need to draw what they SEE, not what they know from memory. But it's not like they were given some kind of divine gift. Everyone starts off with scribbles, and how quickly they develop skills differs from person to person.
*watches video* hmmmm... I can do that! *2 hours later* *messes the whole thing up by coloring 1 part* wow, I can't do it.... welp! back to watching more!
You should always try to continuously fix your mistakes and draw again This might be cliché advice but I really find that helpful and it helps me get better, especially because I procrastinate so much Edit: Oh shit, I realized this is a 4 year old comment. Welp how's your progress?
so it depends were in ireland you are but i go to Evans Art Supplies thats were you can get the jelli rolls or prisma colours from (or just simple arts and craft things)
I'm from Ireland and I live in Dublin and the best shop to buy drawing materials for me is the Arts and Hobby's Shop, it has pretty much everything you need for drawing, watercolour ect. It is expensive tho xD
+Bran Bran Bravedawn I personally don't care if people say cuss words(I don't say them tho) but others do. It sounds impolite because curse words are normally used when someone is mad.
I just live the videos you make, Bailee. Because of you, I have been inspired to draw anime using the anime eyes that I learned from you. Now, my drawings look even better than before! >.
This video completes me *colors eyes* No but on a serious note, I've been drawing in a manga/realistic mashup I created since I was 8, I've been able to color everything pretty well, except the eyes. So thanks for making this vid.
You're so talented! Much more than I am at least! I'm the best artist in my class right now and I thought I was good! Now that I see yours you inspire me to do more art than study! :D
Baylee Jae Hi, Have you ever though about doing 'tiny art'? I think you would be really good at it with all the small details. Like on the small eye. Great vid BTW.
@Natalia you can use just regular colour pencils. Prismacolor is just waxier and creamy in texture. Pressing a bit harder with crayola can be just as good. ;)
Wow her drawing skills are on point! Where did she learn that?? She will probably be a famous artist soon :0 good luck and continue your passion Baylee!! ❤️❤️❤️
No one is born with the ability to draw well. Just like no one is born with the ability to play instruments well. To be talented at something all you have to do is invest time and practice.
A tip: Try using a white colored pencil for blending. It can help save your other colored pencils a lot longer and can give a more realistic look if done properly.
White only works on pale colours. Otherwise it makes the colours look really washed out. If you want to save your colours, use the colourless blender pencil.
Great tutorial! I can't afford Copic markers, Please consider creating more tutorials that use Prismacolor Premier colored pencils and if you do please specify the exact colors just as you do in your Copic tutorials...this way someone like myself can try our best to give your creation a whirl. Eventually, I will have Copics but I've learned a great deal from watching the tutorials that use them even with out having them.
Hey,beautiful work!just a tip,i think in the smaller eye you put Too much highlighting, try to put just a little less,it will result more realistic ;) just a tip, I think u r amazing
Ok Guys, You can't compare yourself to her, she has been drawing bor years and some of you are just beginners!!! Don't get frusterated and quit, just keep up the work!!

I love how the colors bleed into each other and give it a cool effect

Hi Naomi
Naomi Scott XD
What brand of color pencil would you suggest for a 13 year old artist who is pretty serious about drawing
+KawaiiPromise why so many
Have a big set of crayola and some prisma that would be a great start maybe add some wax crayons too.
Or check out faber castle they have a mark that start with a p and it look very nice
from what i've done, it's pretty much whichever coloured pencil brand you like best that also fits your budget
faber castle polyo are cool
Yes, you can do it with any colour. Try adding a hint of red to the highlight, or a hint of yellow.

Pencil Crayons are the same thing as Colored Pencils, right?
Yes
Jessica Foster Yeah. In Canada they're called pencil crayons.
When did you start drawing?

That is what I call "Awesome".The eyes are very pretty and beautiful too ^ ^

I'm from Ireland and I live in Dublin and the best shop to buy drawing materials for me is the Arts and Hobby's Shop, it has pretty much everything you need for drawing, watercolour ect. It is expensive tho xD
I watched this back in 2013. Glad that this was in my recommendation. It brings back memories when I tried to draw that.
This isn't how I do my highlights. I just decided to do a style like this for this tutorial.
Do crayola colored pencils work?
No because they dont blend
I use crayola because I'm poor and they actually work very well. I use them for my drawings and they look great!
I can draw and color eyes like the small one pretty easily, but I've never colored an eye as detailed as the big one
+nancy zhang
Yeah it's barely advanced for me.. I have this habit of drawing a bit small * - * But not as small as you think XD
+Bran Bran Bravedawn same I always draw small and my mum tell me it's too small so I have to do it again 😖
Liza Skobejeva
I've been drawing bigger :o
WOOOOO I DID ,COMPLETED, AND SUCCEEDED IN DOING IT
Girl, your drawings are KLLER!!!! I also LOVE your colorings. You are life goals. Say yes if you agree!!
Oh my god thank you, now I can draw eyes amazingly! You make it so simple!
Great artist and tutorial maker ^-^.
That moment when you realize that the vid which u learned from to draw anime styled eyes in second grade is made by your current favorite youtuber
Colorful DreamsofPaula ثثألا
whoa! if you kinda tilt your laptop back it kinda looks rainbow
Hahaha you were right
OMG!! Cool! Ur Right
LOL
:3

I use liquid paper for highlight
+I Write
Wtf is that
Bran Bran Bravedawn you don't need to curse
It's a stationery called correction pen look it up
I Write
I don't need to look it up if you already told me :P And whats wrong with cussing? Nothing wrong to me :P
Sirιυѕ I did :3 Just by adding a curse word doesn't make it rude x3
+Bran Bran Bravedawn I personally don't care if people say cuss words(I don't say them tho) but others do. It sounds impolite because curse words are normally used when someone is mad.
Are the colored pencils oiled based?? I like the way it blends the colors :)
Great tutorial! Trying to enhance my "manga skills" and this tutorial was certainly very very helpful!
these look great also how did anyone think that they were supposed to be on the same face? xD
Never heard of pencil crayons in me life xD
Color pencils?
silencieux ana heard of those yes.
Lol same
Same.
I hate how dull her pencil crayons are, mine have to be like SHARP.
So true
No one cares if it's sharp or not sharp
Melanie Zamora same
Cuz dull color pencil is nice to color and sharp is noob
I just live the videos you make, Bailee. Because of you, I have been inspired to draw anime using the anime eyes that I learned from you. Now, my drawings look even better than before! >.
This video completes me *colors eyes*
No but on a serious note, I've been drawing in a manga/realistic mashup I created since I was 8, I've been able to color everything pretty well, except the eyes. So thanks for making this vid.
I subscribed just because of this video
"dark grey" *takes black*
excellent!
She is awesome at doing eyes! Wow! She has an amazing talent at drawing!
Thanks! This has tremendously improved my eye coloring and color blending in general 👍
dude...... i ruined my eye.... didnt know about the highlights i would of left space
does she mean colour pencils
We call them pencil crayons in Canada.
Coloured pencils makes more sense but pencil crayons sounds better lol😊
yea, most Canadians refer to coloured Pencils as pencil crayons :)
we call then map pencils...
We call then pencil crayons that's it end of it -.-
it looks so good and easy but then I do it and it's turn into crap
Print out screenshots. You'll get there
This is a very helpful tutorial , the eyes you have drawn are absolutely beautiful. I really enjoy this video, and you are very talented. :)
That one highlight line on the bigger eye was amazing! Looks just like anime but better!
when i first saw the link to this video, i thought it was a weird kind of crayon not pencil.
and I can never do that!
Dazzle D its rather easy tbh..
I'm on an old baylee Jae vid marathon
I like the way you drew the eyes.thank u so so so much for teaching me how to color them :)
By far my favorite artist on TH-cam
you could always use water color white for highlights. or a white prisma love your work keep it up Baylee Jae your awesome !
You can use white out for the highlights too. You just need a proper brush to make it circular or dashing, depending on the highlight
No. It's not a face. It's two right eyes drawn at 2 different sizes.
You're so talented! Much more than I am at least! I'm the best artist in my class right now and I thought I was good! Now that I see yours you inspire me to do more art than study! :D
But how does one develop a talent? By practicing.
I remember watching this in 2013. wow time flies and my art looks so decent now xD
What brand/paper type do you recommend for coloured pencil drawings? And which kind of Prisma coloured pencils do you use (premier, scholar, etc)?
cool! :D r u lefthanded? :O and what kind of pencil do you use to make the white colour one? D:
Baylee Jae Hi, Have you ever though about doing 'tiny art'? I think you would be really good at it with all the small details. Like on the small eye. Great vid BTW.
THANKS ALOT I HAVE NEVER KNEW HOW TO COLOR EYES WITH PENCIL CRAYONS!! REALLY.. THANKS THIS WAS REALLY HELPFUL!!!!
I'm so glad that I found this coz I am going to get the prismacolour premier and now I have a reason for my mum to give me money every day!!!!:D
Yup!
that's a very good point you make about coloring method needing to be different depending on size.
@Natalia you can use just regular colour pencils. Prismacolor is just waxier and creamy in texture. Pressing a bit harder with crayola can be just as good. ;)
nice!
Any eye color, right?
darkest to lightest?
Wow her drawing skills are on point! Where did she learn that?? She will probably be a famous artist soon :0 good luck and continue your passion Baylee!! ❤️❤️❤️
No one is born with the ability to draw well. Just like no one is born with the ability to play instruments well. To be talented at something all you have to do is invest time and practice.
What type of colored pencils do you use ?they blend so well
A tip: Try using a white colored pencil for blending. It can help save your other colored pencils a lot longer and can give a more realistic look if done properly.
White only works on pale colours. Otherwise it makes the colours look really washed out. If you want to save your colours, use the colourless blender pencil.
Didn't know they finally came out with a blender pencil. Well in my experience using white works decent if you don't have anything else.
Well, art takes time. Common beginner mistake is to rush things.
Wow...Very nice,👍😍 I liked very much...👍I'm waiting for you at my place!
Great tutorial! I can't afford Copic markers, Please consider creating more tutorials that use Prismacolor Premier colored pencils and if you do please specify the exact colors just as you do in your Copic tutorials...this way someone like myself can try our best to give your creation a whirl. It's not luck. It takes time and practice.
It looks amazing! Now need to get coloring pencils as well;')
Ang galing parang totoo 😊😊
So if I wanted to use purple I would need 4 different shades?
Not necessarily. You could use purple and a bit of red or blue. The number of colours doesn't really matter.
So inspiring. Lovely work.
wow. love it but can i use some of ur details to make my own eye i will post finished product to u?????
The eye looks animated after coloring it :D Nice video
Hey,beautiful work!just a tip,i think in the smaller eye you put Too much highlighting, try to put just a little less,it will result more realistic ;) just a tip, I think u r amazing
