SEM (School of Electronic Music) rebranded from MMS (Manchester Midi School) in 2017. Same school, same good vibes and a lot of exciting things planned.

In these 15 minutes you just explained SO MUCH! From how to load a song to building patterns, to how to control your paterns and melodies... you can create an entire set with just this knowledge... that is crazy...
VERY useful tutorial. So many Maschine Jam tutorials I've seen do not get right to the point, or explain the basic functions. THANK YOU for this. I got my Jam months ago... never really messed with it til today. Thanks again! If you guys have any more good Maschine or Maschine Jam tutorials, please let me know. This is how tutorials should be done.
Sorry for coming back so late. Thanks for doing the best beginners guide to using Maschine Jam. This video got me up and running straight away after I bought the Jam last December. Great tutorial
Excellent! I've understood just in few minutes how Maschine Jam works and how it is powerful! THX
Excellent tutorial. Straight to the point. I got my Jam about a year ago. Never really got into it. Your video has made me want to learn this thing proper.. Thanks a lot. How about the next 15 minutes video.)
One of THE most helpful movies on youtube! Thank you!!!
Thanks for breaking down the sequencer. You have made it real easy. Almost thought i wasted 400 bucks on this thing.
Oluwaseun Ayoola I bought it when it first came out, then left it alone for many months. Just recently got back to it, and wow it’s really powerful.
That was very useful. I was able to follow along with Maschine Jam in a cafe (kinda nice that it's USB-powered and portable). Thanks a lot, and looking forward to more videos on Jam!
Great presentation showing the buttons used and the results in the software and the pace was perfect.
this looks wicked, I can't wait too buy one! i noticed their are vu level meters added on each track in the group! cool stuff:) cheers for the overview just what i needed to see if it's worth me buying it
Thanks very much for the tutorial, made my life so much easier, end of the day just keep at it and will get into it, Practice makes perfect.
Best beginner tutorial for the Jam on You Tube.
Thanks for 15 minute powerfull review.
Tom, in your opinion if you had one choice would you buy Jam, or........
Marmalade?
Thank you so much for this video! I'm getting this device today and I can't wait to start creating some sick drum and bass :D
Great video. Thank you
Should I get the jam for my MK3 found one used but guy has no license key for Jam will it work with Mk3 .. looks epic together;)
Great Well Explained Video on the basics ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m a Maschine mk3 user, think this could integrate well into my set up?
I’ve added Jam on top of MK3 +S88 blown away since I got these. Great Tuts ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
thx for the excellent overview. i see you have the 2.5 beta. are there any other big changes except for the scene change and live performance effects? oh and one thing that annoys me to death is that we cant draw a straight line in the automation lane (wanted this feature since 1.0, cant believe that this isnt possible), please tell me that they implemented it in 2.5 :)
Does anybody know if Jam does note repeat?
hey ,, nice video ,, in the end u said u gone do more Jam Tutorials ? ,, woud be nice if u got a minute to make a new one going a bit deeper in the material ,, thx ,,, greetz
Very informative video! Thanks!
Excellent work. Where is the complete performance stored? Say you Jam and you want to capture it? Where does it go?
Thanks for the video. Question: are the touch strips absolute? (where you place the finger, the level on control will jump there) if so, can this behavior be changed to relative? Also, is there something like shift + move finger, for fine adjustments? Thanks!
muitosabao I don’t think you can do relative, but can do a Shift for fine control which is basically like a relative mode as it greatly expands the sensitivity! Was very happy myself when I discovered it did Shift combo for fine tuning! (Just like with knobs on the other Maschines.)
Very helpful!! Subscribed!
thank you for the video! One question though, when your in "pad mode" is the 4x4 section pads or click sensitive buttons?
Can it be paired with a Griggly Grogg?
Great video. Please teach NI how to make tutorials. They sux at it.
hi, how did you turn on the maschine jam? have been trying to connect mine to macbook air, but it couldn't work, it only last for one second then all the lights went off. Do I need a usb hub that comes with a power supply to turn this machine on? Is there any specific volt / watt required from the adapter?
I can just tell you a lot of people prefer it to the Push 2.
how do you know that?
Sales numbers
It is significantly cheaper also...something to consider as to why sales for the Jam might be higher than the push!
significantly cheaper but also significally more useless. and for what it does it's still way to expensive. maybe if they would take 100-200 € off that 400... some examples:
- no pattern length other than 1.0.0, 2.0.0, 3.0.0, 4.0.0 and so on (because maschine software still sucks). on the push you can easily set your clips to uneven lengths to get more interesting sequences.
- no clip launch quantization like on push (also, because maschine software still sucks), just the scene launch is quantized. but when playing live, i want to add variation and not always have to stick to prepared scenes.
- no displays. not even one.
- no dials, only touch strips, wich is kinda weird. but on the other hand, the chord strumming on these strips is really fucking cool, but thats really the only thing i like about the whole unit.
- no independent control of 2 different sounds/groups with maschine hardware and jam hardware. they always lock on to the same sound/group.
- a usb hub to connect maschine would be really good for mac users and other people who only have 2 usb ports on their computers.
Does anyone know if maschine jam comes with standard maschine library or the full library? thanks in advance
can i import my own kits, samples?
Also can it be used like a live controller such as the launchpad?

Great tutorial. I'm a bit confused _ do I always have to begin with the root note when I want the key to stay for example in cminor, or doesn't it matter which of the suggested notes in the grid I play first? Many thx
You would normally start with the root note, but try experimenting for different flavours! :)

Genial!!!!
Don't miss out on the additional power of using this thing in MIDI Controller mode! th-cam.com/video/Alnn1inTbzc/w-d-xo.html
Hi, I urgently need to see the depth of the JAM control Live 9, X.Traktor Logic video, the official said that the depth of control, but why not see it now, and this demo video??
"the official said that the depth of control, but why not see it now, and this demo video??"
what?
These Maschines are sold second hand "without" the Software. With no Software how can you use it? When you see the price of the software the purchase of one of these becomes prohibiting.
I'm new to maschine, please could anyone show me how to set the controller up and what I need
Those mouth noises though
no midi in and out... a pity
Dont mean to be negative but it seems like a bit of a waste of money
have no idea where you got your drums from. I feel useless watching this
1:30 They are part of the Machine library Samuel
worst demo ever
