This is a show produced in America, with an American host, an American crew, and an audience that (according to TH-cam) is nearly 90% based in North America. We only have access to US spec cars in the press fleets, therefore many cars that you're used to seeing I have never once even seen in person. You're choosing to watch an American show vs. a European show, so it's actually self centered of you to expect I would cater to your market, instead of you, the viewer, adapting to the cars we test.
Paul Zografos Agreed. Don't know why they look so bad in pictures/videos. Almost every new Lexus suffers from the same thing as well, ugly on the net but beautiful in person.
This video pretty much delivered all of my favorite aspects of a youtube video. Saw some awesome scenery, gave me some great information, and showed me the performance of badass product :standing applause. Well done, Matt. You rock buddy and I am incredibly jealous of your foxbody. Please give me a ride through Mulholland
This has to be the best filmed and executed car review i've ever seen. Not only is it goddamn picture perfect, the scenes and cuts in this one is ridiculously good looking. But, also Matt being so emotional about this car makes the review amazing. I am far from having the kind of cash to get one of these beauties, but Matt almost had me taking a loan for it! haha. Thanks for yet another great clip.
I've actually been to El Mirage just because of this video. I was doing a road trip in California when I saw a small sign for El Mirage and remembered it. We did 120 with a rented FX 37. Thank you Matt Farah.
if pure fast is what you're going for, then I'd have to agree with you, however a CTS-V will never get off the line like this thing can without full-on slicks. The real difference is in everything else. From the room, to the build quality, the materials, and the fact that you can custom order practically every part of the car, not to mention ceramic brakes and AWD, the Porsche is hands down the better car, although you pay for it.
It's not sand really. It's very hard packed so when you're driving on it, it feels just like concrete just with a very fine layer of dust on top of it. If you're trying to get maximum grip in a corner its not exactly ideal, but for going straight it feels as if you're driving on tarmac.
I looove this. A creative automotive channel. Put some storyline, visiting a fire like waterfall, laymen language. Ignore guideline, ignore rules, follow your heart Matt, this is a good show!
Nik Brudar Just got it. It's white. Too many options to list here, but it has ceramics, Burmester, sport exhaust, carbon fiber interior, sport wheel, LED headlights, adaptive cruise, 4-zone climate, and more. :)
Nik Brudar I've had the 911 for 8 years. I absolutely LOVE it. It's an amazing car, it performs incredibly, and it's so reliable too. But I just needed a change. I'm almost 50, I have back injuries, and the Panamera gives me the best of both worlds: performance and comfort. But the jury is still out. I've only owned the Panny for two days now. I might end up going back to a 911. We shall see.
frakkintoaster I just bought a 2015 Panamera 4S and I'm coming from a 2011 Panamera 4 lol (put 40k miles on her from new!) The upgrade in 120 HP is crazy to me, but the fuel economy is crappier :( I have a 2014 E 63 AMG S as my "super" car so I just slightly upgraded the Panamera and I love it. How do you like your Panamera after a month?
We filmed the Scion FR-S last week for my segment on G4's "Attack of the Show." It will air in a couple weeks and we will post the video the next day on our web site. Lots of drifting!
The Turbo S comes with different turbos and lots of hardware that doesn't come with the Turbo, and many things that are optional on the Turbo are standard on the S. It's more than just a tune and a couple tweaks.
There are very few rules at El Mirage, one of them is no drifting on the lakebed. It will cut ruts into it that could easily flip another car that's going a high speed.
There are plenty of larger, affordable performance cars for tall guys. The Corvette, Mustang, CTS-V, SRT-8 range, etc, all are great for tall drivers. And for the record, I used nearly every feature in the Panamera over the course of my week with the car.
I'm the guy who said it. The Panamera Turbo S has 16 less HP, weighs 300 lb more, and hits 60 mph 6/10 of a second faster than the CTS-V. The V is a great car, but in a drag race, the Porsche's AWD and launch control will give a massive advantage unless you crank up the grip on the V with sticky rear tires.
more like we used the same gauge shot twice. Watch Top Gear's Veyron vs. James's Plane race. Every time Jeremy hits the gas (while driving from Italy to the UK) the odometer shows the same number.
Very well produced video. With the Farrah narration, the subtle music in the background and the videography, just a brilliant video about the Panamera. I want to like the Panamera sooooo much. It's just the most awkward looking car ever. The interior and motor are amazing though. Cheers.
Just do it. Look where I'm at, consider that I started the show myself with Tom Morningstar (we're partners) as a cameraman and editor, and take the steps you need to take to get there.
We just filmed our Scion FRS review, which is more-or-less the same as the BRZ, for Attack of the Show on G4 TV. After it airs, we will post the video on our website, so check back there for it.
You do an excellent job of thoroughly and honestly reviewing these automobiles. I just wanted to thank you for your contribution to the motorhead community!
We make three videos a month for Drive, and when season 2 of Tuned starts on July 1st, we will have a dozen films in as many weeks. We're busy making videos, it's a full time job. Just not all of them are posted here. Make sure to follow us on Facebook so you don't miss out.
The V1 is extremely effective, the best of all radar detectors. But of course it only works if the cop is actually using radar to catch you. There are all kinds of ways for a cop to tell if you're speeding, and if he uses another one (pacing, laser, instant-on) then it won't be much help. Fortunately most cops are lazy and leave their radar guns all the time, in which case it works great.
5:20 - This is what stiff bushings give you. Most cars have super squishy rubber bits throughout and really disconnect everything from the driver. It is crazy how direct, and connected the car can be to the driver and the driver to the road when these parts are much firmer or of solid/bearing type.
The FF can actually fit 4 people, though the people in the back seat had better be small as hell. I can't fit back there for anything, whereas the Panamera's back seat is so good you could use it as a chauffeur's car.
If I'm spending my own money, probably CLS63. It's got more of an attitude, an angry exhaust note, and fantastic massage seats. With the $70k you save you can buy a hell of a weekend track car.
that's quite true about the exhaust, but most people wouldn't know that, which is why I said it would take a connoisseur or enthusiast to know the difference. The panamera is significantly faster than the CLS63
Oh, is the ZR1 coming with turbos now? And I wasn't aware they had made that change, but since they have, your comment makes total sense. Comparing a modified ZR1 to a stock Panamera Turbo S makes perfect sense.
no bullrun. Doctor recommends against road rallies. Of course, that didn't stop me from doing the One Lap of America race this year, which is way more fun than Bullrun.
Its quite remarkable actually that this is the second fastest luxury car on the market today after the M5 F10. It weighs almost 2150kg's, can accommodate 4 passengers in highest possible luxury, and can carry loads of luggage, even your fridge or a bedroom closet if needed. It can cruise at extremely high speeds with highest level of comfort, refinement and safety, yet, it will do 0-100km/h in just over 3 seconds, and hit 300 km/h in 40 seconds (24 seconds before CTS-V for example).
And just to mention, it will go around Nurburgring in 7:52. (although its not relevant since we're talking about a road car). It might not be the prettiest car on the market, but it sure as hell is one of most impressive cars ever made in terms of engineering and technology.
The CTS-V wagon will not satisfy someone who is used to driving $100,000 cars. The performance is there, but the interior isn't up to snuff for the veteran luxury buyer.
If you are looking at the front of the car, you can tell the V6 apart from the Turbo and Turbo S by the front LEDs. The Turbo and Turbo S has wireframe front LEDs, they look much better.
If you follow me on Twitter and Facebook, you know where we will be and when. I'll be at Willow Springs on the 29th testing some Carbon Rims on a GT3 and the SLS GT AMG.
The Bentley is an excellent car, but realistically transaction prices on it are about $50k higher than the Panamera Turbo S. And the Panamera drives much better, though won't make as much of a statement at the club.
Break in periods on turbos will burn oil until the pistons "Seat" and this is a press car...My 650I had to have oil every month until the turbo break in period ended and now it is fine. That's why I have ordered a Panny Turbo S!
Some sound advice! My friend at MIT had a 2004 330i ZHP with a 6-speed, I have a 2002 audi A4 quattro (also 6-speed). Can't really get access to nice new cars like you but hey maybe I'll review my own car! :D Freaking cool to talk to you, best of luck with the shows!
Great car, we owned a Porsche for a little and had oil problems with it too. Always had to check the oil after letting the car sit for a couple days then the head gasket went out after only a year. Crazy how Porsche doesn't have basic luxury items as standard on there cars and get away it.
very good informative video, pity you didn't get the waterfall shot. It looked like you drove past some nice trout streams on the way..would have been tempted to stop and cast a fly!
This show is great! You do what Top Gear (GB) does, you focus on the car and not on the person driving it! Thank you, and american car shows... learn a thing or two.
Even in 2022, this car was built ahead of it time, in regards to performance. It’s insane what that PDK and tune does to a car almost 10 years old
This is a show produced in America, with an American host, an American crew, and an audience that (according to TH-cam) is nearly 90% based in North America. America is not a country
Chinese food tastes good but Spanish food is better.
I dont know what it is about these things but theyre always ugly in pictures and WAY nicer in person.
Paul Zografos Agreed. Don't know why they look so bad in pictures/videos. Almost every new Lexus suffers from the same thing as well, ugly on the net but beautiful in person.
Paul Zografos because they all use a stupid Fish eye lense, its soo stupid
NikoBell12 its the fish eye lenses that make them ugly
I think it looks ugly both ways. IMO
They were hideous when they came out and lately I fell in love with the car lines. They still look bad in pictures though, lol.
This video pretty much delivered all of my favorite aspects of a youtube video. Saw some awesome scenery, gave me some great information, and showed me the performance of badass product :standing applause. Well done, Matt. Some really good writing here Matt. Great style all those years ago. Timeless.
That car is rediculously unphotogenic. It actually looks good irl though
get cars wherever you can get them. I didn't get my first press car until almost a year into making videos. That's part of the hustle of this job.
Was this one of your favorite drives ever? I absolutely love this review. It just works. Awesome job!
This is probably the best review I've seen Matt do, well filmed too.
Huge fan of TST. Now im looking at used panameras and thesd units are under 30k 😂
I've actually been to El Mirage just because of this video. I was doing a road trip in California when I saw a small sign for El Mirage and remembered it. We did 120 with a rented FX 37. Thank you Matt Farah.

You are a smart, decent person. You will go far in life.
I looove this. A creative automotive channel. Put some storyline, visiting a fire like waterfall, laymen language. Ignore guideline, ignore rules, follow your heart Matt, this is a good show!
These reviews get more and more professional as you go, good stuff.
Just bought one. Thanks for the nudge, Matt. :)
Nik Brudar Thanks Nik. It arrives tomorrow. Excited. :)
Nik Brudar Just got it. It's white. Too many options to list here, but it has ceramics, Burmester, sport exhaust, carbon fiber interior, sport wheel, LED headlights, adaptive cruise, 4-zone climate, and more. :)
Nik Brudar Thanks Nik. So far, I'm really enjoying it. I'm coming from a 911 Turbo S though. That's a whole different animal! :)
Nik Brudar I've had the 911 for 8 years. I absolutely LOVE it. It's an amazing car, it performs incredibly, and it's so reliable too. But I just needed a change. Sir, what advantages does this automobile have over say, a locomotive, which I could also afford?
+Matthew Wilson Don't be a Homer.
There are very few rules at El Mirage, one of them is no drifting on the lakebed. It will cut ruts into it that could easily flip another car that's going a high speed.
Beautiful car... Awesome review and video. This is what TH-cam was made for.
I'm a Brit, I just LOVE this guys style - great entertainment. Top work.

Great to have another smoking tire video! your tuned episodes are great, but there's a sense of flair and grandness only these videos have.
Matt, I think its great you still respond to user comments on here. You're the man.
Matt, your reviews are perfect!! continue to entertain us, please?
Very well produced video. With the Farrah narration, the subtle music in the background and the videography, just a brilliant video about the Panamera.
I want to like the Panamera sooooo much. It's just the most awkward looking car ever. The interior and motor are amazing though.

they are called Dillon Optics, and you can get them via the link on our website.
Just do it. Look where I'm at, consider that I started the show myself with Tom Morningstar (we're partners) as a cameraman and editor, and take the steps you need to take to get there.
yes, it premieres July 9th.
Oh . Only $190 grand!? I'll just got get my purse.
real men use fanny packs...
Jeffrey Rose u made me spit out my Hennessy
Good shit Matt! Been waiting forever to see a real review of this monster, thank you!
We just filmed our Scion FRS review, which is more-or-less the same as the BRZ, for Attack of the Show on G4 TV. After it airs, we will post the video on our website, so check back there for it.
Excellent video- thanks! Intelligent, unbiased reporting.

its a beautiful car actually....this is the only car that matches the M6 Gran Coupe
My father just bought one three days ago in 'Amethyst Metallic'.. fully loaded and all. One of the best cars I have ever driven.
Chris Harris is (as of now) the only person who does new car reviews on Drive. We do modified cars on Drive, and we do new (stock) cars here.

Ive just stumbled on this channel. This guy seems like a cool dude. Nice videos.

This is my favorite video by FAR! Good work guys!
Matt - you are the best american car reviewer. Love your reviews and wish you would do more.
We shot it in February. We were busy with Tuned, Big Muscle, Ride Apart, etc.
I have watched all of your vids and this is one of the best, keep up the great work
Word dude! Your encouragement gets me stoked about it!

This is one of my favorite videos I have seen. I think it is shot perfectly. I wish I knew how to make a video like this.
It has parking sensors, just not a backup camera.
Really well done video. Actually have a reason to road trip to Yellowstone now!
Oh, is the ZR1 coming with turbos now? And I wasn't aware they had made that change, but since they have, your comment makes total sense. Comparing a modified ZR1 to a stock Panamera Turbo S makes perfect sense.
Lexus LS430. Best used luxury car money can buy.

Sorry, after the gazillion mentions in TST and Tuned I couldn't help but troll ;-) I really like the video's, thanks and keep up the good work!
Dude - you do a good job - no BS...Just good review, good drive - Keep it up man!!
And just to mention, it will go around Nurburgring in 7:52. (although its not relevant since we're talking about a road car). It might not be the prettiest car on the market, but it sure as hell is one of most impressive cars ever made in terms of engineering and technology.
Haha! "parkmode". Excellent review as usual. Can't wait to see more from the Smoking Tire crew.
180mph Wow!! I'm sticking with the brand PORSCHE!! My 08 Cayenne Turbo is FUN in Sport Mode.
Hell yeah
Matt - your reviews are fuggin awesome.
im so glad you made another vid matt. i love porsches, even the more questionaly looking
the camera was mounted on the exterior of the car so all you get is wind noise anyway
The CTS-V wagon will not satisfy someone who is used to driving $100,000 cars. The performance is there, but the interior isn't up to snuff for the veteran luxury buyer.
Very good work, happy to see a new TST video (i was a bit disapointed by the BMW vids)
TST just keeps getting better and better.
Great video, well worth the wait!
If you are looking at the front of the car, you can tell the V6 apart from the Turbo and Turbo S by the front LEDs. The Turbo and Turbo S has wireframe front LEDs, they look much better.
I loved this video. I feel like I was taken on an automotive adventure, keep it up!
Literally the perfect everyday car.
People say it's ugly but I like it, hell everytime I see one. Turbo or not it breaks my neck.
No, there is no RS6 available in the US since the last-generation (2003) model.
How about doing a comparison of this vs a Tesla P85D. Would love to see how they compare. Thanks!

People keep saying this car is ugly but I think it's great looking.
Great show! Can't wait for the next one.
Still one of the greatest cars I’m collecting mine for when the prices go back up 💪
Good review Mr. Farrah! I love your job
If you follow me on Twitter and Facebook, you know where we will be and when. I'll be at Willow Springs on the 29th testing some Carbon Rims on a GT3 and the SLS GT AMG.
Great review Matt...keep it up!
Great one Matt, you guys have been doing your homework on how to produce a proper car show
The Bentley is an excellent car, but realistically transaction prices on it are about $50k higher than the Panamera Turbo S. And the Panamera drives much better, though won't make as much of a statement at the club.

Great shots! Great review!
Amazing review. Keep up the great work.

Very detailed review. Thanks.
Welcome back Matt!
This is the coolest car a dad could own.
Great car, we owned a Porsche for a little and had oil problems with it too. Always had to check the oil after letting the car sit for a couple days then the head gasket went out after only a year. Crazy how Porsche doesn't have basic luxury items as standard on there cars and get away it.
Good Video Thanks Again Matt
very good informative video, pity you didn't get the waterfall shot. It looked like you drove past some nice trout streams on the way..would have been tempted to stop and cast a fly!
This show is great! You do what Top Gear (GB) does, you focus on the car and not on the person driving it! Thank you, and american car shows... learn a thing or two.
btw, the "S" is not a package, it is a trim, so the "turbo" only trim has 500hp while the "turbo S" trim has 550hp, just clarifying...
