Throughout the years there have been a lot mario games like super mario world, super mario 64, super mario sunshine, new super mario bros, new super mario galaxy, super mario 3d land, super mario 3d world, super mario run, super mario bros 3 and not too long ago they released the new super Mario odyssey for the nintendo switch which has all kinds of new characters like cappy and locations like the sand kingdom, new donk city and bowsers kingdom. In these games we have seen power ups like the fire flower, ice flower, super mushroom, mega mushroom, super star, hammer suit, spring mushroom and way more. But there were power ups that helped mario, luigi, toad, princess peach, rosalina and the others to escape bowser, the broodals, koopalings and bowser jr. Paper Mario on Nintendo 64 is the first place that I ever seen the bad bandits. (Never played Yoshi's Island). They were only in the desert.

HOLD THE PHONE! Bandits did appear in at least one more popular Mario title: Paper Mario 64. They appeared in Dry Dry Desert, and were super cool yet annoying at the same time. Those bandits really loved their RPG style battles...

I think General shy guy from Paper Mario should have been number one he's my favorite form of a shy guy.
Shy Guys are one of my favorites. I just started a clay sculpture of one. Made behind the mask creepy. Waiting on mini magnets to be delivered so I can have the mask removable, attached by magnets. Will have a few masks to switch out from. Majora's Mask masks and masks from other nerdoms.

I honestly never considered the Bandits as Shy guys due to how different their body structure is, but looking closely at them I guess they may be considered a variety. Quite interesting that they haven't shown up in a Mario Kart game yet
Hard to believe you brought it down to just five. If ask me there are enough shy guy variants from the main Series game to the side games to the RPGs for there to be top a 10.

My top 3 favorite Shy Guy types are 3. Sniffits, 2. Sombrero Guys, and 1. Sergeant Guy. The last one is not necessarily an enemy, but bowsers elite minions of Sergeant Guy, Corporal Paraplunk, and Private Goomp are just the best.
Can you make a best final bosses other than King Koopa list? ( and can one of them be Smithy from SMRPG? Also, why did the Shyguys work for him in that game? )
Captain road can't normally jump however if he goes in a warp box he jumps out and if he somehow hits a flagpole he does a jump victory animation both examples are in 3d world if you edit the level
