Some nice details, First, Starlight is holding the gem from Trixie's cape, along with her hat, Armor's sword is broken, from what he's fighting. Spitfire is seen without any of her wonderbolt stuff and missing an eye, The dragon staff has been turned into a weapon, and most subtle, Thorax's normally unharmed wings are covered with small holes. Altogether this does a great job of showing how much they are suffering.

After listening to this for the first time in the P@D Aurora release party, I have been waiting for this one's release on YT. And as someone biased towards the UEP, in the words of the Commanders themselves, "We'll never Surrender, We are the Great Defender!" Can't wait for what comes next!

The young pony wearing a witch's hat smiled with sorrow at the gilded silver necklace, shining brightly in the sun light, almost fooling her into seeing the burning embers of fire around her as a good thing. Almost. Her eyes glistened with fresh tears, and she held her cloak near to her heart. "I suppose i knew this was going to happen." She clutched the necklace closer to her heart, worthless if not for the sapphire which adorned it's pendant, a colour all too familiar to the young unicorn. "doesn't mean it'll be any easier for me." She sighed, and as she felt the fires of battle lick at her hooves, attemoting to drag her down to hell for all the ponies she's killed and led into certain death, she smiles at the ember red skies, melancholic. Her horn lit up, she never thought she'd do this, but it's what she would have wanted. All of a sudden, a blinding blue light danced across the battlefields, brightly shining from the pony knocking on death's door, sending the last of her power into a final burst, shooting powerful winds and blinding thunder all around her, taking down as many of the wretched crystals and moltens as she could with what she had left. The rest of her magic? She stored into the sapphire pendant. She may have grown from the selfish fool she used to be, but isn't that why the saying "old habits die hard" exist? She's far too prideful to just let herself flicker out. And besides, the pendant was so beautifully made, it would be a shame not to turn it into an artifact. She coughed and wheezed as her horn's powerful light began sputtering out, laying her head on the burning ground, wondering if it was worth it. Maybe, if she had saved her strength, someone would have saved her. Maybe, if she hadn't done such a stunt, she could've somehow by some miracle gathered enough power to get up on her hooves and run. But those are just that. If situations. No guarantee. She sighed, and she hid the pendant in her hat, hugging it close to her chest, as tead began to flow freely from her dying eyes, the colour slowly sapping from her once brilliant irises. But at least this way, even if they won't know it, trixie will make it past here. Trixie's legacy will continue with the artifact she'd made of her necklace. She won't make it out if here alive, but she'll achieve what she's always wanted to do. Have a legacy, be known in some way or another past her death. And judging by her graying mane and weakening body, she'll get the honor of telling trixie herself. So maybe, a hundred years from now, if any pony survives, they'll see this necklace, and recognize it as the great artifact used by one of the UEP commanders to boost her strength, they'll see trixia as a powerful witch who created pendants to boost the strengths of her comrades in battle, and even if it's a lie, she supposes that it's worth it. At the end of the hard-fought battle, her colleagues in war carefully escorted her lifeless body out of the hellfire that was the world. She can only hope they'll put the prettiest flowers on her grave.

The final song about every UEP Commander is really cool and interesting combine . The sound mix feel like each part is for each commander . This song sure will give the resistance some strange and belief tomorrow . You never let the us down Jyc
Clouds of ash, lit by red and blue flashes, made for an otherworldly scene, like something from a nightmare. Ember gazed at her staff, now terminating in a crystal that made it look like a scythe. Rubble shifted. Ember whirled around, newly-bladed staff at the ready. There was a cough, then a scratchy, female voice said "I'm glad to see you made it, Ember." "Fireproof scales, Starlight," the Dragon Lord explained, relaxing her stance. "Didn't think any of you ponies could survive something like... that." "Magic shield. Twilight taught me some ways to boost it before... you know..." The dust cleared, and Ember could clearly see the young mare. A star-spangled hat and a cape that held a jeweled pendant now adorned her body. Ember could feel something in that new getup, a similar power to the one in her scythe. Starlight looked at the she-dragon's new weapon with eyes tired but intrigued. "I'll ask later," she thought aloud. "Right now, we need to get out of here." "H-hello!" Thorax's voice weakly called in the distance. "Is a-anyone..." a bout of coughing interrupted the plea for help. The pair rushed over to find the changeling king sitting down next to an ash-covered pony and a chipped sword. "Shining Armor!" Starlight gasped. The unicorn looked up at her. His eyes were dead. "You made it." His voice was flat. He blinked a few times, eyes focusing. "Y-you made it." Ember dismissively waved her left hand. "Eh. We're too tough to kill." Her levity was a transparent falsehood, but no one was going to call her out on it. Shining Armor unsteadily got to his hooves. "I-I th-thought we were the only ones..." "You're not," Starlight gently interrupted him. There was a woosh, and Spitfire descended through the grey pall. "You guys made it?!" she exclaimed. "Yes!" Starlight said emphatically. "Where are the others?" "I don't know." She didn't sound hopeful. "Come on." Shining Armor said, a touch of his old determination in his tone. "We can talk later. We still have a war to fight."
I'm speechless at just...EVERYTHING. The power in this track, the emotions conveyed. It's so powerful and desperate. While the remaining Commanders don't know the true extent of what's unleashed, they know enough. They know it's powerful, and dangerous. They know they got to try to stop it, they're going to do all they can to do so. They're the last Great Defender.
Now my heart screams out this... *_FIGHT._* *_FIGHT TO THE END._* *_FIGHT UNTIL EVERYTHING IS YOURS. EVEN IF EVERYONE IS DEAD, YOU WILL HAVE YOUR GLORY BACK._*
@ironfang bigheart Only the unicorns can use spears and swords with telekinesis. Pegasus can do it but they need to be airborne but hard or impossible to use when standing on the ground like the Earth ponies
I mean, it lets him use his magic for other things. Dude's magic was able to shield all of canterlot, I imagine it is enough to be helpful against the armies at the very least.
Absol-lute Greatness. Even saying this is too small of a praise for how brilliantly amazing this song is. A perfect captivation of One Final Push, One Final Charge, One Final Strike to save all those lost. I can truly feel the fire that burns within their very souls to give it their all against forces beyond their comprehension. They do not care how strong The Goddess are or their armies may be, they will stop at nothing to retaliate against the divine forces. Knowing full well that this final act will most likely be their final moments, they still press on with Every-Thing-They've-Got. They are... The Last Ramparts, a title worthy for them~
The sad thing is that those nearest were turned to molten/crystallized, so that means the only ones left were the ones in the back or the ones who were "too weak to fight" Imagine that against literal goddesses

I have to say, I like how there's a solemn tone amidst the epic in this song. Absolutely perfect for the UEP defender theme considering how much many of them suffered and their current position.

This is incredible, I've been listening to this on repeat for the last hour, learning it just so I can sing along. I love it! I always enjoy a good war cry, and this is one of the great ones.
I'm always fascinated by perfection of theese songs in relation to my campaigns. Once again you composed a song that I is without doubt a perfect fit for what I have planed in my D&D campaign. I'd write more, but if anyone from my group sees this it would spoil part of the campaign.

This is truly a masterpiece and the perfect song for the UEP, when I first listenend to this song I was completely stunned and in my mind I imagined the UEP commanders in a epic fight against Aqasha and Nerath. Thanks! To nitpick a bit, it'd be a fight against the High-Priestess - Ayzat & Naegissa - more than against the Goddesses (they wouldn't stand half a second against them but... more will be detailed and explained in the prequel's finale :p)
@Jyc Row Minor question: given Aquasha and Nerath are described as impervious to anything but each other, what's the point of having either Priestesses or armies? The way I see it, whatever Ayzat or Naegissa wins is irrelevant. Neither can really take the fight to the enemy Goddess.
The concept is very cool, but the song-- man, something about the "war cry" or "war chant"-themed songs stucks with me so much. I'm not sure what to call this genre or motif, honestly. I just know I'll be listening to this one a lot. So glad it's featured in Aurora!
And here I now stand, finally caught up with things here. I never would have guessed that deciding to draw pony art as well as reading the comics would lead me here, but I am so glad it did. Going through all these songs (and reading the docs) really has be hooked into this story and I will certainly be here as it continues. Its all for showing love for the show and the amazing fandom. The show has like 180 songs through the 200+ episodes plus the spinoffs and movie. Most are amazing then you have people like JYC Row, The Living Tombstone and Aurelleah who remix and make such incredible music. The Living Tombstone doesn't make mlp music anymore though.
Reminds me of grim determination knowing how outclassed ones group is but still fighting on cause if ya don't things will get far far worse. So..in my opinion Grim Determination fits the UEP to be honest fighting till the end. Thanks JYC for this entire series still being put together and worked on woot woot cannot wait to see whats next!

And to her foes? She is but 1 of 6 reapers coming to put an end to madness with spells the likes of which few have seen and even fewer have survived witnessing

The young pony wearing a witch's hat smiled with sorrow at the gilded silver necklace, shining brightly in the sun light, almost fooling her into seeing the burning embers of fire around her as a good thing. Almost.
Her eyes glistened with fresh tears, and she held her cloak near to her heart.
"I suppose i knew this was going to happen."
She clutched the necklace closer to her heart, worthless if not for the sapphire which adorned it's pendant, a colour all too familiar to the young unicorn.
"doesn't mean it'll be any easier for me."
She sighed, and as she felt the fires of battle lick at her hooves, attemoting to drag her down to hell for all the ponies she's killed and led into certain death, she smiles at the ember red skies, melancholic.
Her horn lit up, she never thought she'd do this, but it's what she would have wanted.
All of a sudden, a blinding blue light danced across the battlefields, brightly shining from the pony knocking on death's door, sending the last of her power into a final burst, shooting powerful winds and blinding thunder all around her, taking down as many of the wretched crystals and moltens as she could with what she had left.
The rest of her magic? She stored into the sapphire pendant. She may have grown from the selfish fool she used to be, but isn't that why the saying "old habits die hard" exist? She's far too prideful to just let herself flicker out.
And besides, the pendant was so beautifully made, it would be a shame not to turn it into an artifact.
She coughed and wheezed as her horn's powerful light began sputtering out, laying her head on the burning ground, wondering if it was worth it. Maybe, if she had saved her strength, someone would have saved her. Maybe, if she hadn't done such a stunt, she could've somehow by some miracle gathered enough power to get up on her hooves and run.
But those are just that. If situations. No guarantee.
She sighed, and she hid the pendant in her hat, hugging it close to her chest, as tead began to flow freely from her dying eyes, the colour slowly sapping from her once brilliant irises.
But at least this way, even if they won't know it, trixie will make it past here. Trixie's legacy will continue with the artifact she'd made of her necklace. She won't make it out if here alive, but she'll achieve what she's always wanted to do. Have a legacy, be known in some way or another past her death.
And judging by her graying mane and weakening body, she'll get the honor of telling trixie herself.
So maybe, a hundred years from now, if any pony survives, they'll see this necklace, and recognize it as the great artifact used by one of the UEP commanders to boost her strength, they'll see trixia as a powerful witch who created pendants to boost the strengths of her comrades in battle, and even if it's a lie, she supposes that it's worth it.
At the end of the hard-fought battle, her colleagues in war carefully escorted her lifeless body out of the hellfire that was the world. She can only hope they'll put the prettiest flowers on her grave.
UEP Commanders charging in : Either we die as heroes or we die as cowards. Point is, that's gonna kill us.

Clouds of ash, lit by red and blue flashes, made for an otherworldly scene, like something from a nightmare. Ember gazed at her staff, now terminating in a crystal that made it look like a scythe.
Rubble shifted. Ember whirled around, newly-bladed staff at the ready. There was a cough, then a scratchy, female voice said "I'm glad to see you made it, Ember."
"Fireproof scales, Starlight," the Dragon Lord explained, relaxing her stance. "Didn't think any of you ponies could survive something like... that."
"Magic shield. Twilight taught me some ways to boost it before... you know..." The dust cleared, and Ember could clearly see the young mare. A star-spangled hat and a cape that held a jeweled pendant now adorned her body. Ember could feel something in that new getup, a similar power to the one in her scythe. Starlight looked at the she-dragon's new weapon with eyes tired but intrigued. "I'll ask later," she thought aloud. "Right now, we need to get out of here."
"H-hello!" Thorax's voice weakly called in the distance. "Is a-anyone..." a bout of coughing interrupted the plea for help. The pair rushed over to find the changeling king sitting down next to an ash-covered pony and a chipped sword.
"Shining Armor!" Starlight gasped.
The unicorn looked up at her. His eyes were dead. "You made it." His voice was flat. He blinked a few times, eyes focusing. "Y-you made it."
Ember dismissively waved her left hand. "Eh. We're too tough to kill." Her levity was a transparent falsehood, but no one was going to call her out on it. Shining Armor unsteadily got to his hooves.
"I-I th-thought we were the only ones..."
"You're not," Starlight gently interrupted him.
There was a woosh, and Spitfire descended through the grey pall. "You guys made it?!" she exclaimed.
"Yes!" Starlight said emphatically. "Where are the others?"
"I don't know." She didn't sound hopeful.
"Come on." Shining Armor said, a touch of his old determination in his tone. "We can talk later. We still have a war to fight."
I'm speechless at just...EVERYTHING.
The power in this track, the emotions conveyed. It's so powerful and desperate. While the remaining Commanders don't know the true extent of what's unleashed, they know enough. They know it's powerful, and dangerous. They know they got to try to stop it, they're going to do all they can to do so.
They're the last Great Defender.

@ironfang bigheart Only the unicorns can use spears and swords with telekinesis. Pegasus can do it but they need to be airborne but hard or impossible to use when standing on the ground like the Earth ponies
I mean, it lets him use his magic for other things. Dude's magic was able to shield all of canterlot, I imagine it is enough to be helpful against the armies at the very least.
Absol-lute Greatness. Even saying this is too small of a praise for how brilliantly amazing this song is. A perfect captivation of One Final Push, One Final Charge, One Final Strike to save all those lost. I can truly feel the fire that burns within their very souls to give it their all against forces beyond their comprehension. They do not care how strong The Goddess are or their armies may be, they will stop at nothing to retaliate against the divine forces. Knowing full well that this final act will most likely be their final moments, they still press on with Every-Thing-They've-Got. They are... The Last Ramparts, a title worthy for them~

The sad thing is that those nearest were turned to molten/crystallized, so that means the only ones left were the ones in the back or the ones who were "too weak to fight"

Idk why this community makes such incredible music but I'm here for it. Never seen the show and I probably never will, but damn the music is good.
Its all for showing love for the show and the amazing fandom. The show has like 180 songs through the 200+ episodes plus the spinoffs and movie. Most are amazing then you have people like JYC Row, The Living Tombstone and Aurelleah who remix and make such incredible music. The Living Tombstone doesn't make mlp music anymore though.
Reminds me of grim determination knowing how outclassed ones group is but still fighting on cause if ya don't things will get far far worse.
So..in my opinion Grim Determination fits the UEP to be honest fighting till the end.

Fiery magic danced across Thorax's body as he took on the form of a massive dragon, spewing flame and fury across the battlefield.
The sound of Equestrian Steel rang as, even with the blades tip broken, Shining Armor fought with a furious fervour like a demon dancing in Hell's flames, cutting down Molten and Crystalized alike.
Tho the wonderbolts were gone, Spitfire was never one for backing down. She'd fly circles around the enemy even if she died. She'd fly til her wings fell off if she had too. And she'd take as many down with her as she could before she even dares die herself.
Ember, fighting side by side with Thorax, would show just how terrifying the dragons could be and exactly why she was The Dragon Lord, or die trying.
Starlight Glimmer, once a villain and once even a great student under Twilight Sparkle, would show the enemy what truly made her so hard to keep down. To stop. She is the shield. The shining light. And to her foes? She is but 1 of 6 reapers coming to put an end to madness with spells the likes of which few have seen and even fewer have survived witnessing
Wow just wow I never thought that a song can actually turn into a complete battle cry I must say I am impressed with all the work being done I am been loving it so far can't wait to see what's to happen next
