@@user-jh6kx1fw9h lol absolutely not. If it's shown you were doing 30+ MPH over the speed limit you are at fault. At the speed limit there would have been plenty of time for that truck to come across but because these guys were doing at least 80MPH they closed the gap much faster.

@@user-jq2ow6fn9b To an extent, yes you should be aware. But had they been going the speed limit or close to it, the car would had had no problem pulling out. Oncoming traffic is very hard to judge and riders who behave like this on the road are 100% at fault.
@@user-jq2ow6fn9b when you look to pull out and see a dot on the horizon it's pretty hard to tell that it's a motorcycle going God knows how fast. At 7:39 the truck is so far away you can't tell if it's a truck, car, SUV or what. At 7:40 the "biker" starts hitting the brakes so from that point on they are slowing down from full throttle in probably 5th gear. The truck is at least 150yds away. which also matches up with Jyster85 saying 80+ mph by the time they reached the truck. So they slowed down to 80mph from maybe 100+. If you wait to pull out of a gas station until traffic is 150yds away I don't know how you get anywhere.

I almost always feel bad immediately after I blow someone's mirror off... Doesn't stop me from doing it, just like they "didn't see me" and went ahead anyway. More violence is the only answer, since nobody is doing anything to improve drivers' abilities. :D

Yeah, I missed a year of college because a taxi driver cut me off - gave my helmet to protect the passenger, so I lost a tooth as well... Two weeks in hospital, a lifetime of recovery. Try and cut me off and we'll see how "nice" things get. =)

Genuine question here. I know lane splitting/filtering is legal is California and most of Europe, and I have no problem with that if the rider isnt being stupid or dangerous. But how come they get all angry whenever someone pulls up next to them while they are riding on the very edge of a lane? Wouldn't be the same thing? Or can they all of a sudden decide to not be lame splitting anymore?
I dont ride a bike myself, so a different perspective would be great!
A bike lane splitting with a car is legal, a car lane splitting with a bike isnt.. thats the difference
Yeah what you said makes absolutely no sense. Plus if a bike hits a car the only thing that gets damaged is the car, if a car hits a bike it's highly likely the riders body is going to be damaged, and that's not as easy to fix
The thing I hate about bikers is they think they can legally drive between cars and split traffic 40 mph over the speed limit. Then if they crash because of thier speed, you're at fault for not seeing them and giving them room to split traffic

Things aren't always that black and white. If you're going say 150 km/h or more, which they very well may be, it's possible they can't even see the biker. I can't say who'd be at fault, it'd be a case for the courts, but when someone drives at that speed, I'm sure it won't be an open- and shut case. The same thing could apply if the driver is drinking and driving. I'm not saying it will in every case, but it might shift the scale.
It's the same thing when someone rear-ends someone else; it's almost always their fault. Except if someone excessively cuts them off and then brakes, for instance
If things were as black and white as you seem to suggest, then in my example above, you can easily get free repairs for their car (the rear end at least) if needed, at will.
As for this video; it's horrible to see how the automobile drivers are treating the motorcycle drivers, it's an accident waiting to happen.

Half of these were the bikers fault. Sitting in cars blind spots, speeding, self entitlement ect. Don't get me wrong I speed, but I don't blame other drivers for pulling out on me when I do.
A good driver checks their blind spot by looking over quickly. Cannot blame bikers for going in the cars' blind spot.
Speeding? I agree, that's their (bikers') fault for upping the risk factor by going faster than what is legal, but drivers *need* to always manually check their blind spot before changing lanes, not just lazily and dangerously rely on mirrors alone.
You cannot turn it on bikers. All of these blind-spot near crashes are due to drivers not checking their blind spots, which is known about when they take their driving test. There's no excuse for drivers. They're lazy, that's all.
Of course I agree with riding / driving defensively, no doubt, but that still doesn't take blame away from the drivers who intentionally remain lazy and choose not to check their blind spots. No ego here. It's #1 the drivers' fault for not checking blind spots. Don't try to shift guilt onto the biker in this case, even though it's obviously best to ride defensively, in a court of law, the driver who did not check blind spots is at fault if they change lanes and crash into a biker. Plain and simple.
