  • How To: Set Up BrickPacker to Sync Your BrickLink and BrickOwl Inventories
    This was an incredibly popular video idea suggested by so so many of you! In this video, I show you all how to create a BrickPacker account and link it with your BrickLink and BrickOwl stores. BrickPacker allows you to have two stores with one inventory. Every 15 minutes it looks for orders and then syncs the stores to make sure you do not sell the same piece twice. BrickPacker takes a 1% fee of all the items sold, but being that you are able to have two stores instead of one, this is totally worth it! This is the first of a few videos on how to use BrickPacker. Hopefully, this video clears up any questions anyone may have had when trying to set it up.

    Using brickpacker was the best thing I have done. I would advise anyone using it to read the brickpacker instructions before adding APIs etc, that was the one bit I nearly made a mistake.

      I agree with you on that one, make a mistake during setup and it completely messed things up

    Great video! I set this up a few weeks ago and it seems to be working great. I would say that my experience with Brick Owl has been okay so far. My only issue with Brick Owl is that the orders seem to be much smaller than my Bricklink orders. My average order on Bricklink is usually between $15-20ish while on Brick Owl it is $3. Time will tell if that will improve or not.

    Thank you so so much this video, I’ve been waiting!! So just wondering You can only a load 200 parts at a Time to BrickOwl? Every time you add parts to BrickLink do you have to re-add them to BrickOwl or does it automatically do that? If you put something on sale on BrickLink does it automatically put it on sale on BrickOwl?
    Also how and when does brickpacker charge you?
    Also if there’s pieces that BrickOwl does not recognize do you wait for them to upload it or do you go and try to find it on BrickOwl?

    Great video and brilliant channel! I would never have had the confidence to give this a go without this tutorial. Quick question . . . When you add new products to Bricklink does it automatically sync or do you have to constantly retrieve the inventory?

      Hi James.
      Sorry for the late reply. It. will automatically sync. I can't remember how often when you add parts, but I want to say it is about once every 24 hours that is syncs. When you get an order though, it will sync within 15 minutes. Hopefully that helps! Thank you for watching!

    Why is having BrickOwl and syncing it to Bricklink worth paying 33% more in fees? I really do not understand two things - BrickOwl and the headache of risking selling a part twice (even syncing every 15 minutes). What buyers are you getting from BrickOwl that you can’t on Bricklink? I’m guessing you are getting access to buyers that won’t use Bricklink - perhaps they like the interface with BrickOwl better? I created a BrickOwl account 6 years ago and still have never found anything to buy there

      @@Brick-Slayer I've had more orders on brick owl in 4 months then I have on bricklink. I think you do need both as some people only use bricklink or brick owl. I think the 1% is good value

    Hello

    Unfortunaly today i can not do any update on my inventory on bricklink! Can you please tell me why? or did you have any ideia?

    Nice tutorial, thank you! I'm considering opening up a BrickOwl store as well.
    Got another question for the BrickSide Chat: What do you do with orders where the buyer doesn't set it to complete, even after asking if the order has arrived and everything is okay? Is it okay to set it complete myself if they don't respond?

    So, here is a logistics question - If you are running with both, and all is synced up 100% - and Packer is updating every 15 minutes, what happens if y our BL store inventory changes Outside of an incoming order? I know that adding new parts requires the upload phase, to get them synced, but lets say, you remove a piece, either a full lot, or a partial, on BL, say to use in a a MOC, and decrement your inventory on BL - will Packer pick that up and adjust BO as well? Or because it was not a Sale, will it not pick up on it?
    Thanks for the info though, another "piece in the puzzle" in my brain toward eventually getting up and running myself.

    You said that you will put the link for the bricklink API in the description but it's missing. Could you please fix that? Thanks.

    Where do you feel the advantage of brickpacker vs bricksync? Is it worth the 1% fee?

    • @NIBricks
      @NIBricks 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been using brickpacker for 4 months without any issues, when I sell any items on either site a get an email within a few minutes and my stock is automatically adjusted. I think the automation is worth the 1% commission!

  • @hoarder66
    @hoarder66 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Only problem is if someone else is buying the same parts at the same time on both sites right aftere brickpacker does it thing. I would almost just want bricklink and brick owl to merge

    Does BrickPacker sync the sale amounts from BL to BO, as I currently use BrickSync and that's the only thing it doesn't do, that I could do with it doing, as well as not syncing newer colours.

    • @JustABrickInTheBucket
      @JustABrickInTheBucket  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it does not sync the sale amounts to BO. It seems to be something between the two sites as both BrickPacker and BrickSync do not sync the sale amounts, which personally does not make sense to me. Newer colors are hard as well unfortunately. Though at the moment, we have closed down our BrickOwl store due to inventory mismatch between the two stores, that we believe was caused by BrickPacker.

    • @hytalereviews1145
      @hytalereviews1145 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JustABrickInTheBucket Thank you for the reply, much appreciated. I currently use BrickSync and seem to get random mis-matched inventory for some reason, but can't seem to find why. In terms of the sale amounts I don't understand either as to why neither can sync them, unless there is a limitation in the Brick Owl/Bricklink API that doesn't allow this or has no option to do this (Haven't looked into the API myself really). Would be a useful feature to ensure consistency in price across both stores, as currently my BO store is a little higher in price than my BL store due to the sale amounts not going across automatically.

    When you sync inventories from BL to BO does it keep your remarks from BL to BO?

    • @JustABrickInTheBucket
      @JustABrickInTheBucket  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it does sync the two of them. On BrickLink they are called "Remarks" and on BrickOwl, they are called "Personal Comments" or something very similar to that, but yes, it does keep both of them and sync them.
