same tap same problem ,ours was a feat to remove the swan neck tough,now the shop is closed for the O rings and locite 55 !! but at least we got our water turned off as its been tight for years. Thank you great video👏👏👏👏
Spot on my friend...I have the same thing and I was dreading the outcome as there are not any isolation valves on the feeds and the pipes are behind the units. Gonna try this and see how it goes. Thanks for the post.
This was quality thanks. I have a similar tap setup and was excellent to follow. I found limescale remove and a bit of patience was key to get that locking nut moving. 2 O-Rings later and its good to go

Great suggestion. Have tried on a number of occassions to repair this issue with ptfe or standard replacement O rings (as opposed to tap manufacturers direct replacements) to no avail. Next time will try Loctite 55 as instructed. Thank you TK42138
Good question but it was actually a shaped seal unique to the make of tap. Unfortunately the company who made the tap went bust and no one had any spares.
Good question. I think the thread is standard to mixer taps but can't say I've ever noticed end nozzle spares in the usual DIY retailers. Amazon might sell them.
Get a micrometer remove o ring. Measure inner and outer diameter of o ring insets and actual tap. Mine was 22mm outer and 20mm inner. Therefore cross section of o ring is 1mm. Just get 22mm x 20mm x1mm o ring and use tape too. Impossible toget flat profile o rings now.
I would r be interested to know how long this 'emergency fix' lasted. As using PTFE tape is very much a temporary solution (some plumbers have said this to be a 'bodge'). I suppose you did this because you can't find the specific washer for the old tap.
Good ol' Amazon. Been several years since the video. I looked online back then and couldn't find the particular O ring for the swivel spout. It had an unusual cross section shape. A normal O ring just didn't fit properly. If memory serves, the tap unit was an Italian make.
My tap problem is the leak is from both sides and the collar at the tap base wont tighten - it just goes round and round. This happened last year and I managed to tighten it up after a while but this time I cant seem to work that magic and dont know if the thread issue is related to the 0 ring problem...or is it something else?
Hi, if the collar doesn't tighten it means the thread has worn. You could try wrapping PTFE tape around thread and see if the collar tightens but usually when this type is worn then a new tap maybe the only option.
I have the exact same tap..but it has 2 different ceramic cartridges in it. 1 of them is faulty and water is dripping from the spout. Which ceramic size cartridge does it take, do you know?
Most of these types of mixer tap have a cartridge that screws into a larger threaded adaptor. Cartridges come in different sizes with varying lengths of spindle so it's better if you can remove the cartridge and then take it along to a plumbing parts or DIY retailer to compare with the new parts. Worth noting that if it's been in situ for some years in a hard water area, the cartridge can be very difficult to remove. I ended up replacing entire tap because it was so corroded inside. Couldn't separate the cartridge from the adaptor in the tap casting.
Nick Pullen If yours doesn't have collar or a grub screw then it's the pull type where the swivel outlet is positioned in straight ahead position and pulled upwards. A small detent ball or raised part of the casting locates the swivel in a groove in the tap body.
when I pulled the spout assembley out there was a pipe on the other end plus I severed the connection....it looked the same model too. Ah well, better call a plumber.

Don't know. Tap has been replaced since I filmed this. Had problems finding spare parts for it.

Yes - definitely temporary repair only although it did last over a year until the kitchen was replaced. I made sure I bought spares for the new tap 😆

Very informative video, I have the same monoblok what Franke model is this as mine is dripping from hot or cold cartidge?
My one was leaking from the hot feed.

Unfortunately the company that made the tap no longer made spare parts for the part that was leaking and tap replacement wasn't an option at the time.
