My kitchen tap has a leak thats got progressively worse over the last year i was almost gonna have it replaced until this video, i was blown away to find there was that little screw at the rear and never thought to look before so thanks a lot for this video!!
You’ve just saved my life. I could see the “O ring” but it wasn’t obvious that you have to prize it out with a knife. This video saved me a big plumbers expense. Thanks.
Brilliant. Just watched this and done the fix on our leaky tap. Completely successful. Really appreciated our help as you pointed out several little things I’d not have thought of. Cheers!
Great advice....my tap did not have a fixing screw....however, I unscrewed the tap spout and discovered that there was no washer sealing the unit after screwing down. I have a good box-selection of rubber 'O' Rings and found the right diameter, popped it in place and screwed it down and the leak has gone. Many thanks to Pouse!!
Thanks for inspiring me to fix the leak that happens to be the same mixer as shown in the video. I ll request a video on how to replace its disc valve as you said. Keep posting regular videoes regularly. thanks
As per your instructions I didn’t turn the water off from mains and when I unscrewed the tap off, it flooded the kitchen. Took one hour to clean up, cheers mate.
Enjoyed the video. It’s nice to see the inner workings of the tap. Before removing the tap I would try tightening the little screw at the back first as that might solve the issue and be an even quicker fix.
Easy when you know how…helped me greatly and saved some nagging which is a bonus..and yes I did catch the tap and got a drowning..top video, many thanks 🤓👍
Great video, perfect for the leak I had. Managed to fix it for the cost of some plumbers grease, as recommended, and new O rings, about six quid in total. Thanks.
Great video, the only one I could find for this exact tap. Any idea how to access the cartridges on this model, there seem to be no screws or covers to remove the taps? Many thanks again.
Some taps allow you to line it up facing towards you, then pull up but if in doubt check with the manufacturer, I don't want you to break to tap! Best of luck with it.
Hi Pouse. I’ve removed the grub screw but haven’t been able to remove the neck from the base (middle section) Despite trying to swivel it and pull, it won’t shift. Any advice please. Thanks
Great video! I have the same tap and the plastic washer with a hole in the back, which the grub screw fits into, needs replacing. I have no idea what the correct name is for the fitting so have had little luck in finding a replacement. I would be really grateful if you had any ideas please. Thanks.
On some taps if you centre the swan neck, then pull up they will come out. That said, I don't want to be responsible for you pulling your sink out of the work top! I wonder if you can research the brand on line? Best of luck with it and thanks for watching.
I have a big steel cilender box the brass extension is connected so i can remove/exchange tap whenever i want but the problem is water is leaking from the extension i make sure the tap is strictly fix and tight but the water is still leaking should i use tape to fix it?
Two minutes in and I have that problem you’re explaining is for a next vide, any suggestions or links to a video explaining how to solve my problem would be much appreciated. Both taps turned off like that and water is still running through slowly.
Hello, I have the same problem as you, what model of tap is this called? I need to remove the taps themselves but there are no screws for the tap handles themselves.
Hey pouse around the house, I like yer vids brush, very good for the average DIY man, but I do have one recommendation to make yer voice clear so we can hear, u need one of those mics u clip to your collar or t shirt, keep up the good work n vids bro 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ive got the exact same tap but the valve in the hot tap needs replacement. How do you get the hot lever off, there is no hidden grub screw or anything?
I just used this and worked great! Well I didn’t line up the hole first and it leaked but second time was good 😂 Is it normal for the water now to take a few seconds to stop running rather than stopping straight away? Wondering if I’ve not done it properly 🙈😂
I suspect that you have fixed your tap by now, but for future readers, this video shows you how you get the spout off when you have no screw at the back of the tap: th-cam.com/video/Cbl9m-ionJM/w-d-xo.html
I'm not sure now and can't find the spares! If I find them I'll let you know. Mine was a touch thicker than the original but worked fine and loosened up after a week or two. Thanks for watching.
Have the same problem, a leak on the swivel/base ..... just fitted a brand new mixer and its leaking when I turn taps on, no grub screw / alan key , any thoughts would be appreciated ... 👍
Great video! Could I ask a question..our kitchen tap looks a lot like yours, but it seems to be leaking from the very base (ie where the chrome sits on the countertop) and not just from the base of the spout. Do you think this can be fixed by replacing the o-rings and/or the tap cartridges, or should I be looking for something else? Many thanks in advance!
Hey Pouse, i've done this repair for a family member's kitchen mixer and after a week or so it starts leaking again. I changed the o-rings again, but we are having the same problem once more. What could be the problem and can you recommend a fix for me?
@@POUSEaroundtheHOUSE wow, thanks for replying. I don't think there's any grit, I was sure to give it a thorough cleaning. My sister in law has since told me that they bought the cheapest product available, so I may just need to replace the whole thing
I have a similar tap that’s dripping from the tap handle on the hot size. Every video I’ve seen shows a grub screw to remove to take the handle off. On mine I can’t see any hole and no grub screw to under and I’ve looked to death. Can you please help tell me how to remove it.
I don't sorry but it's most likely the cartridge in the handle. It's whether or not the handles come off and if they do, is a cartridge cheaper than a whole new tap?! Best of luck with it.
You could try holding the tap straight forward towards you, then pull up. But careful not top break the tap. If in doubt check with the manufacturer. Best of luck.
My tap doesn’t have a screw hole on the back and is proving difficult to loosen. Any tips or tools I can use. Could do with forking out £150 plus for a new tap.
The boiler will have a feed of cold water which can be heated and then reurned for the hot water tap. It is also used to fill the heating loop for central heating, but this is a closed system, only filled when valves are opened. It is separate from your cold water. So all you need to do for outside tap is find the cold water pipe for inside cold water tap, and tee off it for your outside tap. Hope that makes sense. Best of luck!
Not sure as I haven't had to do that but I'd guess by pulling with some gentle force. Don't blame me if you brake your tap though!! Thanks for watching.
Some will pull out if lined up straight. However it's probably worth checking with manufacturers instructions first as you don't want to tear the top off and be left with a fountain in your kitchen! Best of luck with it and let me know how you did it if you're successful.
Thanks. Ended up getting a plumber. The little round metal lever used to turn the mixer on \ off unscrewed to reveal the grub screw. There was a tiny Allen key hole at the base of the goose neck. He changed both the cartridge and the O rings. No more leaks!😊
Not entirely sure. If you know the make and model you could try asking the manufacturer? Sorry if that's no help. If you get a solution let me know what it was. Best of luck with it.
You can try applying force upwards with the tap located facing centre, but I would advise turning the water off before attempting this as if it does go wrong, you may get wet! If you know the manufacturer it may be worth asking how the tap comes apart first. Best of luck with it.

Do you have to turn the water of to do it?

You don't actually as long as you don't turn the tap. You will need the water off to change a cartridge though. Best of luck!
Can you hel❤p
Fantastic. Watched and just fixed our kitchen tap saving £60 from bnq. I didn't need a new washer, it just needed a wee clean

I've done this before on my taps, but this was a handy refresher course. I couldn't remember if I had to turn the water off or not!

You should put a bit of plumbing grease around the o-ring to slow down the wearing and tearing. Greets from an Italian plumber in London.
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching 👍

Thanks for the video. Mine doesnt have a screw at the back. How do I remove the top?
Hi great vid, but I think the leak on mine is coming from a tap itself, did you make another vid to cover this?
I haven't yet. You may need to change a cartridge if it's a mixer tap. Hope that helps.
Thank you! I just fixed our tap for £1.
Nice one 👍
Thank you for this video. I have a question - Mine doesn't have a screw to the neck. How to open it? Thank you
